The relatives and friends of Mrs. Ella "Scrapsy" Simmons, 97, are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday, September 18, 2002, 1 p.m., at Mt. Horr A.M.E. Church, 4360 Hwy. 174, Yonges Island, S.C. Rev. Clementa Pinckney, officiating. Interment, church cemetery. Family will be receiving friends this evening, Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at Mt. Horr A.M.E. Church, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Remains will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 12 noon until the hour of service. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her granddaughter, Estelle J. Seabrook; three great-grandsons, Francis Johnson (Gloria), Renard F. Johnson (Charlene), both of Yonges Island, S.C., and Jerome Seabrook (Karen) of North Charleston, S.C.; six great-great-grandchildren, Fritzgerald, Ashley, Jeremy, Odaysha, Tyriek, and Nyashia; three adopted children, Julian Simmons (Esther), of Columbus, Ohio, Charles Simmons (Beatrice) of Empire, La., and Diana Simmons-Moultrie of Stone Mtn., Ga.; three sisters-in-law, Thelma Bowman of Jacksonboro, S.C., Louvenia Bowman of Charleston, S.C., and Adell Bowman of Adams Run, S.C.; grandchildren, Don Simmons, Judy Frazier (Lloyd), Deborah Simmons, St. Julian Simmons (Vanessa), Gwendolyn Fells (Kevin), Mark Simmons, Charles Simmons (Shelia), Laura Ann Simmons, Ruford Simmons, Catherine Simmons, Anthony Moultrie (Sharon), Franklin Moultrie, Annette M. Dent (Gary), Sandy, Frank Jr., Gary Moultrie (CarMichael), Cassandra L. ALTINE, Robert
GEORGETOWN - Robert Mitchell Altine, 50, died Sunday, September 15, 2002, at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, GA.
Mr. Altine was born in Georgetown on August 11, 1952. He was the adopted son of the late George Altine and Bertha Wright Altine and the biological son of the late Capers West and Etta Mae Lambert West. Mr. Altine grew up on James Island, graduated from James Island High School, and attended college for a year. He was a former employee of SC Electric and Gas Company and also worked as a construction pipefitter. Mr. Altine returned to Georgetown in 1992.
Surviving are three daughters, Ashley Poole, Jessica Poole, and Whitney Poole, all of James Island; a brother, Leland Gibson of Barstow, CA; seven sisters, May Belle Moore of Bamberg, Faye Hooker of Burton, Toni Teresa Todd of Conway, Diane Simmons of Fayetville, NC, Mary J. Howard, Gloria Jordan and Amy Weaver, all of Georgetown; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Capers West, Jr.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 18, 2002, at two o'clock in the GEORGETOWN CHAPEL OF MAYER FUNERAL HOME. Officiating will be Rev. Wilton Scruggs. Burial will follow in Elmwood cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, September 17, 2002, from six until eight o'clock.
REEVES, Michael
SUMTER, SC - Michael Todd Reeves, 38, died Sunday, September 15, 2002 at Grand Strand General Hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of Edith Johnson Reeves Heath and the late former Sumter County Sheriff Hazel Ferris Reeves.
Mr. Reeves was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He was a Sales Leasing Consultant with Raceway Ford in Darlington. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran.
Surviving are his mother and step-father O. B. Heath of Sumter; two brothers, Robert Reeves of Sumter and Heyward Reeves of Moncks Corner, SC.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with Rev. LaRue Cook officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM. Tuesday at the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home and times at the home, 1557 Old Ford Road.

Mrs. Scott was born March 3, 1934 in Tabor City, NC, a daughter of the late Gardner Prince and Inez Clemmons Prince. She was a homemaker and a member of Ridge Baptist Church.
