ABBOTT, David
David Alfred Abbott, 78, of Hanahan, died Wednesday, September 18, 2002, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2002, 11 a.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Born in Greenville County, S.C., on April 30, 1924, Mr. Abbott was the son of the late Alfred Thompson Abbott and Mary Price Abbott.
Mr. Abbott was a retired planner and estimator at the Charleston Air Force Base. Mr. Abbott was an Air Force veteran of W.W.II. Mr. Abbott was a member of the Portside Baptist Church.
Survivors include, wife, Helen Smith Abbott of Hanahan, Richard S. Abbott of Tempe, Ariz., Rudolph Abbott of Summerville, Vincent A. Abbott of Hanahan, one sister, Gwen Carroll of Greenville, S.C., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

THOMAS, Mary
CLOVER, S.C. - Mrs. Mary Frances Neil Thomas, 61, of Annapolis, Md., formerly of Clover, S.C., died September 18, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Thomas was born October 21, 1940, in Clover, S.C., the daughter of the late W. Roy Neil and the late Mary McCarter Neil.
After graduating from Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C., with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education she taught in the Anne Arundel County schools for 32 years. Mrs. Thomas represented the Anne Arundel County Teachers Association in successfully obtaining maternity leave for teachers. Mary Frances' hobbies were reading, cooking, bird watching, nature walking and traveling.
Surviving are, husband, Jack E. Thomas, Annapolis, Md.; daughter, Leslie Lynn Thomas Bates, Annapolis, Md.; sister, Jane Neil, Charleston, S.C.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2003, at Clover Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Wallace Tinsley and Rev. Dr. William K. Neely.
