BROWN, Richard
Funeral services for Richard Brown, 78, of 2648 Madden Dr., North Charleston, will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, at Friendship Baptist Church in St. Matthews.
Friends may call at the residence of his niece, Betty Bovain - Reid St., St. Matthews, and at CARSON FUNERAL HOME, ST. MATTHEWS, S.C.

BLANCHARD, Robert I.
Robert Igoe Blanchard, 69, of Charleston, S.C., died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Medical University of South Carolina hospital in Charleston. Bobby was a composer of sacred and secular music; music and liturgical education administrator; and a music publisher. Mr. Blanchard was born Monday, August 1, 1932, in Charleston, S.C., a son of the late Claude Wright Blanchard, Sr., and Helena Igoe "Nellie" Blanchard. He was graduated from Bishop England High School, St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, Md., with a degree in Philosophy and Education (BA 1954) and received his Master's Degree in Music Composition and Theory from the Catholic University of America (1958) in Washington, D.C. He spent a year of advanced study in composition at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Music in Antwerp, Belgium. Mr. Blanchard was an internationally recognized composer of both sacred and secular music. His 1958 symphonic poem The Legend of Finwick was premiered by the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington, D.C. He is the author of a number of liturgical works, including the Mass in Honor of the Immaculate Conception and Mass for God's People as well as votive masses, choral works, Gospel Acclamation and other liturgical pieces. He was the founder and Executive Director of the Composer's Forum for Catholic Worship, Inc., in Sugar Creek, Mo. He was the director of Music for the Diocese of Kansas City, Mo. (1958-63) and Director of Music for the Diocese of Charleston, S.C. (1965-69). After his retirement he taught private piano and voice lessons for many years. He was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. He was predeceased by his brother, James Edward (Ned) Blanchard and his brother-in-law, Frederick Stroman McKay. He is survived by four brothers, Claude Wright Blanchard, Jr., and his wife, Mary Santos Blanchard; Paul Eugene Blanchard and his wife Kathleen O'Hagan Blanchard, Charles Comar Blanchard and his wife Elizabeth Farmer Blanchard and David Michael Blanchard and his wife, Linda LeaMond Blanchard and one sister, Helena Igoe Blanchard McKay and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2002, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist at 120 Broad St., in downtown Charleston. The Rite of Committal will be in St. Lawrence cemetery, Hugenin Ave. Friends may call at the JAMES A. MCALISTER FUNERAL HOME, 1620 SAVANNAH HWY., this Thursday between 5 and 8 p.m. A Vigil Service for the deceased will begin at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Senior Ministries at Christ our King Catholic Church or the Catholic Community Life Center, Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1122 Russell Dr., Mt. CASEY, Alma
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of Wednesday, May 15, 2002, Ms. Alma T. Casey, residence 5746 Rickett Ave. (Apt. D), North Charleston, S.C. She is the beloved mother of Mr. Travis Casey and Mr. Marvin Casey. Sister, Mrs. Albertha Grant (Elijah), Mrs. Ida Glover (Donald), Mr. William Casey, Mr. Joe Casey, Mr. Harry Casey, and Mr. Michael Casey. BRADY, James
James Joseph Brady, 60, of Hollywood, S.C., died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Brady was born, Friday, July 11, 1941, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, the son of the late Joseph James Brady, Sr., and Teresa Queenan Brady. He was a Captain in the Merchant Marines and a member of the Master Mates and Pilots Union. Mr. Brady was also a Commander in the United States Navy, Reserve. He is survived by his mother, Teresa Brady; two brothers, Jack and Joseph Brady; and a sister, Patricia Underwood. Mr. Brady's funeral service will be held in Leominster, Massachusetts. Local arrangements by JAMES A. MCALISTER FUNERAL HOME, 1620 SAVANNAH HWY., 766-1365.

BAKER, Sara Lee
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Baker are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter Saturday, May 18, 2002 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 2:00 o’clock. Interment will follow in Wilson cemetery. Friends may call at Stuhr’s Mount Pleasant Chapel Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 o’clock.

STELLO, Elizabeth
Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of May 15, 2002, Elizabeth Hughes Stello, widow of Walter H. Stello. Residence, Charleston, S.C. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services at the graveside in Bethany cemetery, Friday, at 11 o'clock. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Thursday between 5 and 7 o'clock.
Mrs. Stello was born December 15, 1920, in Charleston, S.C., the daughter of Steedley B. Hughes and Lorene Blocker Hughes. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. She retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy S. Boehrig of Charleston, S.C.; two sons, William C. Stello of Charleston, S.C., and Robert W. Stello of St. Mary's Ga.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

STANLEY, Eileen
Eileen K. Stanley of Charleston died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at a local hospital. Mrs. Stanley was born January 19, 1951, to the late James Peter Kuhn, Sr., and Anne Fenningham Kuhn in Philadelphia, Pa. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Stanley. She was a resident of Charleston, S.C., for 26 years; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served on the Board of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Trident Chapter in 1983, 1984, and 1985. She is survived by one brother, James P. Kuhn, Jr., and wife Elizabeth, nieces, Laura E. Kuhn and Krista A. Kuhn of Cohasset, Mass.; one sister Patricia O'Neill, niece, Erin O'Neill-Scanlon and nephew Brendan P. O'Neil of Metuchen, N.J.; and sister-in-law, Betsy Shepherd, one niece and one nephew of Horshan, Pa. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 17, 2002, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Wallenburg Blvd., Charleston, S.C., 29407, at 9 a.m. and inurnment will follow in Beaufort National cemetery in Beaufort, S.C. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, South Carolina Chapter, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Columbia, S.C. MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 150 Wentworth St., Charleston, S.C., is assisting the family.

PARTIN, John E.
WALTERBORO - Mr. John Egan Partin, 88, of 115 Camellia Drive, died Tuesday at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, at Live Oak cemetery, in Walterboro, directed by the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.
Mr. Partin was born in Littleton, N.C., a son of the late John Harrison Partin and Claire Maguire Partin. He was a retired salesman with Coastal of Carolina. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was a former manager of Novit-Siegel Department Store.
Survivign are his wife, Mollie Turner Partin, daughter, Frances Egan Partin Cooper of Norcross, Ga., sister, Catherine Scully of Kentucky, and three granddaughters, Karen Cooper and Deborah Cooper of Atlanta, Ga., and Camille Cooper of Clemson, S.C.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Memory of John E. Partin, P.O. Box 933, Walterboro, S.C. 29488.

PEEPLES, Francis
Mr. Francis Ellis Peeples, husband of Eleanor McDonald Peeples, died Tuesday morning in University Hospital in Augusta. He was 82.
Mr. Peeples was born in Allendale County, April 8, 1920, a son of the late Junius Black Peeples, Sr., and Daisie Ellis Peeples. He was a retired farmer, and a retired member of the South Carolina Peace Officer's Association. He was a past president of the Peeples Hunting Club, and was a lifelong member of Lower Three Runs Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the board of deacons.
Mr. Peeples was pre-deceased by two sisters, DuPont P. Harper and Elizabeth P. Nowell, as well as three brothers, Junius Black Peeples, Jr., DeLacy Vincent Peeples, Sr., and Pringle Laughlin Peeples, Sr.
Surviving, besides his wife of Augusta Hwy., in Martin are three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, an aunt, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday morning, at 11:00 in the Lower Three Runs Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy L. Mew, and Rev. Fred B. Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Lower Three Runs cemetery. Active pallbearers include, Hayne P. Harper, Pringle L. Peeples Jr., Junius Keith Peeples, John L. Nowell, C. Glenn Hall, and T. Eugene Hall. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lower Three Runs Building Fund, 7108 Augusta Hwy., Martin, S.C. 29836. SMITH-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME of Allendale is in charge of arrangements.

HUGHES, Clarence
The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence J. Hughes of Hanahan, S. C. are invited to attend the funeral services for the former, 11:00 am Friday morning, May 17, 2002, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will be in the St. Stephen Episcopal Church cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm this Thursday evening.

WARREN, Eleanor
Eleanor Briscoe Warren, 82, of Hill Street, Moncks Corner, S.C. a retired Berkeley and Charleston County School teacher, died Tuesday in a North Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 1:00 pm Friday afternoon, May 17, 2002, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will be in St. John's Baptist Church cemetery. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm this Thursday evening.
Mrs. Warren was born Aug. 29, 1919, in Moncks Corner, S.C. a daughter of Richard E. Briscoe and Mary DeHay Briscoe. She taught school in Berkeley and Charleston counties for 28 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. She was a member and past president of the Berkeley Artist Guild. She was past president and secretary of the Happy Hour Senior Citizens Group. She was a member of the Berkeley County Historical Society. She graduated from Berkeley High School and Winthrop College. She did graduate work at the Medical University, Duke University, and Clemson University. She was the widow of W. B. Warren, Sr.
Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Warren of Hickory, NC. and Marie W. Godley of Charleston; two sons, Thomas Warren of Columbia and Timothy Warren of Santee Circle; two step sons, William B. Warren, Jr., of Ladson and Robert Warren of Pinopolis; and six grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.

NICHOLS, Jane
Jane Aldine Nichols, 65, of Summerville, S.C. died Sunday, May 12, 2002 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, May 16, 2002, at Bethany United Methodist Church Spell Chapel at 4 o'clock. Burial will be in Boone Hill United Methodist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church 118 West 3rd South Street Summerville, S.C. 29483.
