BOWDEN, Doris Busby
Doris Busby Bowden, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, widow of Edward B. Bowden died Monday, September 16, 2002 in a local hospital. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service Friday, September 20, 2002 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 4:00 o’clock. Friends may call at Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Bowden was born in North Charleston, SC, the daughter of Thomas Claude and Mary Estelle Busby. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Isle of Palms and the Ladies Auxiliary #3142and was a forty year resident of Isle of Palms.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn Arthur Bowden of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Ray Burton Bowden and his wife, Janalyn Chalmers Bowden; one grandson, Dax Edward Bowden of Isle of Palms, SC; one step-daughter, Patricia Bowden and one step-son, Walter Bowden, both of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Ian Chalmers Bowden and her husband, Edward B. Bowden.

Mrs. Hughes was born September 23, 1922, in Gaffney, S.C., the daughter of Floyd H. White and Della Davis White. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was formerly employed as an executive secretary with Westvaco.
She is survived by her husband of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Pamela H. Ashton and her husband Patrick of Atlanta, Ga., Kathie H. Stuber and her husband Gary of Goose Creek, S.C., and Rebecca Grace Hughes of Asheville, N.C.; two grandchildren, C. Lane Stuber, Jason H. Stuber and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of September 15, 2002, Myrtle Poplin Kane, widow of John J. Kane, M.D. Residence, Charleston, SC. Mrs. Kane was born April 15, 1916 in Sumter, South Carolina, the daughter of Walter Lee Poplin and Vera Boartfield Poplin.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean Kane Allen of Holden Beach, NC; two sisters, Dorothy P. Collins, and Margaret P. Kennedy, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three granddaughters, Susan Greene, Ashley Currey, and Jean Blanchard; five great-grandchildren; Mary Claire, Caroline, Charlotte, Jack, and Owen; her brother, William L. Poplin, predeceased her.

WALTERBORO - Nancy Davis, 85, died Wednesday, September 11, 2002.
The funeral will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at 1:00 PM in Rock of Ages CME Church, Walterboro. Burial will be in Aimwell cemetery, Walterboro.
Mrs. Davis was born and educated in Colleton County. She was a member of Rock of Ages CME Church where she served on the stewardess board.

WALTERBORO - Nadine Wilson Blackburn, 80, widow of Charles N. Blackburn, died Tuesday at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday in Bethel Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. Lawrence Peebles. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Blackburn was born February 16, 1922 in Bellview, New Mexico, a daughter of the late Ernest Leroy Wilson and Cleda McMahan Wilson. She was a faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and a former Elder. She served on the fellowship committee and was a member and former chairperson of Circle 2. She was a retired weaver at J.P. Steven, Co.
Surviving are a sister, Shirley Sutton of Prosperity, SC; and a grandson, Allan K. Blackburn of Canton, Michigan. She was preceded in death by a son, Allan N. Blackburn.
