HENDERSON, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Anne Helms Henderson, wife of John W. Henderson, Jr., died at their home in Fairfax, VA. on Tuesday, Nov 19, 2002.
Mrs. Henderson was born on August 29, 1938 in McCall, SC., the daughter of the late James T. Helms and Ruth P. Helms.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, John W. Henderson, Jr., three daughters, Nancy H. Hall of Ft. Myers, FL; Maryann Henderson of Kirkwood, MO. and Heather E. Hise of Fairfax, VA; two brothers, James T. Helms, Jr., of North Charleston, SC and William P. Helms of Goose Creek, SC.
Funeral and cremation was held in Fairfax, VA with a graveside service at Carolina Memorial Gardens on November 30, 2002 at 2:00pm.
HYMAN, Dora
FLORENCE, S.C. - Dora Ernestine Daniels Hyman, 81, of 210 N. Lakewood Drive, Florence, S.C., died Wednesday, November 27, 2002, in a Florence medical facility after an illness.
Mrs. Hyman was born in Florence County, S.C., a daughter of the late Henry "Moss" Daniels and the late Evie Poston Daniels. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Pamplico, S.C., and was a former member of the Church Circle. She was the retired owner and operator of Woody's Bar-B-Que Restaurant of Florence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Hyman, who died in 1986.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Jamie E. Hyman and his wife, Susie, of Manning, S.C.; a daughter, Janice Hyman Granger and her husband, Billy, of Florence, S.C.; three grandchildren, Karen Granger Murphy of Timmonsville, S.C., Julie Hyman Mathias of Charleston, S.C., and Amy Hyman Reynolds of Columbia, S.C.; four great-grandchildren, Stephen Murphy and Briana Murphy both of Timmonsville, S.C., and Anna Mathias and Callie Mathias both of Charleston, S.C.; and a special friend, Lucille Watts of Florence, S.C.
Memorials may be made to the Dr. James E. Hyman Education Scholarship Fund, c/o the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 975, Charleston, S.C., or to a charity of one's choice.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by STOUDENMIRE-DOWLING FUNERAL HOME.

Joyce Ann Barfield, 66, of Goose Creek, wife of James Woodrow Barfield, died Wednesday morning in a North Charleston hospital.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 2 o'clock in Chaparral Baptist Church, Chaparral Ranches, Hwy. 176. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Park, North Charleston.

Mrs. Barfield was born August 8, 1936 in Atmore, Alabama, the daughter of the late Ottie Odom and Agadean Bass Odom. She graduated from schools in Alabama. She was a homemaker and a member of College Park Baptist Church.
Surviving are: her husband of Goose Creek; 3 daughters: Helen Bryars of Bay Minette, Alabama, Marty Chandler of Mt. Olive, North Carolina, Chastity Allen of Charleston; 1 son, Woody Barfield of Summerville; a special brother-in-law, Stevie Barfield of Goose Creek; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ann Bissette.

FILLINGER, Anita
Anita Huff Fillinger, 88, of Salem, VA formerly of Annapolis, MD died Sunday in a Salem hospital. She was tired and weary, but on November 24, 2002, she was made whole again as promised by her heavenly Father. She passed surrounded by her family and love.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday morning, November 30, 2002 at St. John's Bethel Baptist Church. Burial directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, Moncks Corner will be in the church cemetery family plot.
Mrs. Fillinger was born December 25, 1913 in Moncks Corner, SC, a daughter of George Huff and Jessie Burbage Huff. She was baptized and a former member of St. John's Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Wallace and her husband Frank of Shady Side, Maryland and Linnie Fillinger of Roanoke, VA; two sisters, Julie Ebo of Moncks Corner and Linnie Burbage of Ridgeville; a granddaughter, Lorrie Graham and her husband, Jerry; two wonderful great grandsons Dakota Graham and Dylen Graham. Mrs. Fillinger was one of twelve children therefore she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins that will be praying for her. We will always miss you.

Mr. Arthur was born on July 21, 1929, in Covington, Va., a son of John Mayfield Arthur and Gladys Gray Kirby. He was a retired Foreman for Westvaco. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Carolina Masonic Lodge #375, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Omar Shrine Temple, and American Legion Post #0068.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nell Goodman Arthur of Manning; two sons, Phynnis E. Arthur, Jr., of Allendale, S.C., and Donald A. Arthur of Moncks Corner; one daughter, Dana Arthur-Tolle of Summerville; two sisters, Betty Jean Martin of Silver Spring, Md., and Patricia Varner of Anderson, S.C.; two step-brothers, Archie Webster of Charleston and Robert Webster of Barnwell, S.C.; one granddaughter, Bridgett Thames of Fairfax, S.C.; three grandsons, Tradd Tolle, Carson Tolle and Ethan Tolle, all of Summerville; and two great-grandsons, Trey Allen and Nolan Thames, both of Fairfax, S.C.
