Mrs. Haselden was born November 26, 1914, in Charleston, S.C., daughter of Harry John and Adelaide Plumb O'Neill. She graduated from Ashley Hall School in 1933, and attended Radcliff College and the College of Charleston. She was a retired assistant to the Head Master of Porter-Gaud School. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross. She was a former member of the Charleston Jr. League, and a volunteer for East Cooper Meals on Wheels for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Kay H. Chandler of Isle of Palms, S.C., and Hope H. Parker of Charleston, S.C.; one son, Holmes P. Haselden, Jr., of Whitefish, Mont.; seven grandchildren, Neill Collins, Jim Chandler, Jr., Telfair, Andrew and Katherine Parker, Trace and Hal Haselden; one sister, Harriette O'Neill Hanvey of Charleston, S.C. She is predeceased by her sister Adelaide O'Neill Turnage.

STENDER, Sarah
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 24, 2002, Sarah Luhn Stender, widow of Louis A. Stender, residence, Charleston, S.C. There will be a private graveside service, Monday, November 25, 2002, at Magnolia cemetery.
Mrs. Stender was born April 28, 1928, in Charleston, S.C., daughter, Wesley Dingle and Clifford Jordan Luhn. She attended Ashley Hall School, and Mary Washington College. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer for the Soup Kitchen Interfaith Crisis Center.
She is survived by one son, Louis A. Stender, Jr., of Charleston, S.C.; four nephews, Wesley D. Luhn, III, Warren Parker Luhn, Robert Spann Luhn, William Parker Luhn, Jr.; two nieces, Ruth L. Palassis and Elizabeth L. Postell; 11 great-nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her two brothers, Wesley D. Luhn, Jr., and W. Parker Luhn.

RAGON, George
Commander George Thomas Ragon, retired U.S. Navy and husband of Lyndal Carlene Jones Ragon, died on November 23, 2002, at his residence on James Island, S.C. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial service, Tuesday, November 26, 2002, 12:30 p.m., in James Island Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. J. Michael Castronis. A private burial will be Friday, November 29, 2002, in Beaufort National cemetery. Visitation with family will immediately follow the service in the church hall.
Commander Ragon was born March 30, 1924, in Hardeman, Tenn., son of William Robert and Mary Ella Fawcett Ragon. He attended school in Hardeman County and graduated from Central High School, Bolivar, Tenn. He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., and was commissioned an ensign in the U.S. Navy on July 30, 1944. He also attended the University of Texas. He served on board ships in World War II and the Korean War and retired from active duty in 1971. He received a Masters Degree from the Citadel and retired from the Social Security Disability Determination Division. He was a member of James Island Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and a Deacon. He was a member of the American Legion, the Merchant Marine Academy Alumni association, the Citadel Alumni Association, the Retired Officer's Association and was a Master Gardener volunteer at the Clemson Extension Service.
He is survived by his wife of James Island, S.C.; one daughter, Patricia Annette Todd, Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Robert Carl Ragon, Atlanta, Ga., and Thomas Michael Ragon, James Island, S.C.; one sister, Dorothy Ellen Ragon Milstead, Bolivar, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Michael, Erin, and Christopher of Atlanta, Ga., and Tommy, Gregory, Justin and Shane of James Island, S.C.

WALKER, Elsie Bischoff
Elsie Bischoff Walker, 79, of Mt.Pleasant, SC, died November 20, 2002 at a local nursing home, after extended illnesses.
Mrs. Walker was born January 22, 1923, in Summerville, SC, the daughter of John Frederick Bischoff, Sr. and Marguerite Johnstone Bischoff.
She was a graduate of Summerville High School. During World War II she was employed as a switchboard operator at Southern Bell and later worked at the offices of the Los Angeles Times.
Surviving are her daughter, Julie Walker Hiott and her husband, Mike, of Mount Pleasant, SC and her son, Rusty Walker of Mount Pleasant, two brothers, Richard Johnstone Bischoff, Sr. (Dick) and his wife, Mary Frances of Mount Pleasant, and John Frederick Bischoff, Jr. and his wife, Mary Evelyn, of Aulander, NC, and two grandchildren, Curtis Hiott and Martie Hiott.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 604 Pitt Street, Mt. Pleasant, SC on Tuesday, November 26, at 3:00 o’clock.

Mrs. Missroon was born in Conway, SC, daughter of Dermie Chestnut and Nina Jordan. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Hugh L. Missroon, Sr. of Mount Pleasant, SC; three daughters, Barbara M. Dear and her husband, Carl of James Island, Amanda M. Villeponteaux, and Kerri M. Garner of Mount Pleasant, two sons, William C. Missroon of Lumber Bridge, NC, and Hugh Dinker L. Missroon, Jr. of Mount Pleasant; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

RAJAH, Ranjit
Dr. Ranjit Rajah, 48, of Charleston passed away on November 22nd2002 after losing his five year-battle with cancer. He was born in Chunnakam, Sri Lanka on August 15, 1954. He was the eldest son of Sivanesam and Sarvanamuttu Rajah. Dr. Rajah graduated as Doctor of Medicine from the University of Sri Lanka in 1980, and left for United Kingdom in 1981. He obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1981. Dr. Rajah was currently Associate Professor in Radiology at MUSC.
Dr. Rajah is survived by his wife Bharathy and two sons Harry Nirojan and Vibushan of Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Rajah is also survived by his mother Mrs. Sivanesam Rajah of Sri Lanka, his three brothers: Jeyadevan of Canada, Mahinda of and Janapriyanesa of United Kingdom, and his sister Rajani Kiritharan of Sri Lanka.

PRINGLE, Alvin

Mr. Pringle was born on January 23, 1945 in Colleton County. He was the son of the late Alvin Pringle, Sr. and Nancy Small Pringle. He entered into eternal rest on November 20, 2002 in Charleston, SC.
Mr. Pringle is survived by his wife, Joanne Pringle of Charleston, SC; daughters, Susan Pringle and Monique Pringle; stepsons, Kevin Alston and Jamaal Alston; sisters, Ruth Griffin and Minnie Manigo; one brother, Neptune Pringle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
WARD, JR., Louie
Louie M. Ward, Jr., 72, died Friday, November 22, 2002 in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mr. Ward was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Louie M. Ward, Sr. and Ruth Strong Ward. He graduated from Georgia Military Academy and attended the University of South Carolina. Mr. Ward was owner/operator of Ward's Nursery & Landscape. He was a member of Lake City First Baptist Church and was veteran of the US Army, at time of Korean War.
Surviving are one sister, Annelle "Tootie" W. Moore of Lake City and brother-in-law, William B. Moore of Lake City; a special friend, Kenneth Goins of Lake City.
Graveside service will be at 2 PM Monday, November 25, 2002 in the Lake City cemetery.

SHEALY, Virginia
Virginia Cooper Shealy, 61, of Macedonia, a retired manager with Branton's Rodd Robbin restaurant, died Friday at a Summerville hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 PM, Monday at Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be in Macedonia Christian Church cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Shelton L. Shealy of Macedonia; son, Shel Shealy of Macedonia; daughter, Jamie S. Cooper of Andrews; two brothers, Thomas Cooper of Savannah and Phillip Cooper of Florence; four sisters: Eloise Willard of Columbia, Fannie Belle Gaskins of Macedonia, Diane Harrelson of Rock Hill, Cathy Crews of Andrews; four grandchildren: Ryan, Dylan, Hunter, and Todd.

He was predeceased by a great-great-grandmother, Stella Chesser and is survived by his parents of Summerville, grandparents, Christopher and Diane Clark and Roy L. and Barbara Hogsett, all of Summerville, SC; great-great-grandparents, Richard and Suzanne Ward of Goose Creek, Shirley Bulstrom of Trimble, OH, Marie L. Clark of North Charleston, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Bryant of Orangeburg; a great-great-grandfather, Clifford Wilson of John's Island; an aunt and uncle.
