SIMMONS, Clara
Clara Hill Simmons, 94, of Summerville, widow of Loys Walker Simmons, died Wednesday morning in a local hospital.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 22, 2002 at 11 o'clock in Stallsville United Methodist Church, Summerville. Burial will be in Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville.
Friends may call James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville, from 6 until 8 o'clock this evening.

Mrs. Simmons was born on September 9, 1908 in Ridgeville, SC, a daughter of the late Walter Hill and Mary Elizabeth Brownlee Hill. She attended Ridgeville schools. She was a life member of the United Methodist Women. She was a homemaker and a member of Stallsville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: 2 sons, Horis H. Simmons of Summerville and Rev. Colin E. Simmons of James Island; a daughter, Mrs. Hubert L. Josey of Columbia; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

WADFORD, John
John Christopher Wadford, 21, of Mail Route Rd., Macedonia, SC, a construction worker, died Wednesday morning in a Columbia hospital.
The funeral will be at 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon, November 23, 2002, in the First Baptist Church, Bonneau. Interment will be in St. Stephen Baptist cemetery. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6 until 8 PM Friday evening.
Mr. Wadford was born April 30, 1981 in Charleston, SC, a son of Robert Dean Wadford and Beverly Ridgeway Wadford. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bonneau, and was a graduate of Timberland High School.
Surviving are his parents of Macedonia; a sister, Stephanie Michelle Wadford of Macedonia; a brother, Robert Terrance Wadford of Ladson; and his grandparents, Jim & Mary Ridgeway of Sumter.

YARBROUGH, Wylie
COOKEVILLE, TN - Wylie C. Yarbrough, 90, a resident of Edgewater Park, died on November 18, 2002 in Cookeville, TN after a brief illness. He was a retired member of the regular Navy and the federal civil service.
He was born near Omaha, Texas on April 8, 1912 and grew up in Gilliam, Arkansas, a small town near DeQueen. He attended Magnolia A&M College in Magnolia, AK for three years before enlisting in the Navy.
Wylie and his wife Inez, of 67 years, were members of John Wesley Methodist Church for about 50 years. Inez preceded her husband in death by about 6 months.
He is survived by son, David Wylie Yarbrough; grandson, Michael Wylie Yarbrough; great-grandson, Alec Wylie Yarbrough, all of Cookeville, TN.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 12 Noon at Crest Lawn Memorial cemetery in Cookeville, TN with Rev. Dottie Fielder officiating..

Mr. Barg was born February 27, 1912, in Middle Village, New York, the son of Henry Barg and Frieda Weigmann Barg. Mr. Barg served in the Army. He was employed as an Education Administrator for the state of New York.
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Joanne Barg of Mahwah, N.J.; two step-daughters, Susan Rosenberg of Albuquerque, N.M., and Lucy Honig of Boston, Mass.

MCCONNELL, Marion
KINGSTREE - Marion Connor McConnell, 80, died Wednesday at his residence.
Mr. McConnell was born in Hemingway, a son of the late William Robert McConnell and Marian Pendergrass McConnell. During W.W.II, Mr. McConnell served in the Pacific theater with the U.S. Navy Construction Battalion. He retired from Willis Construction Co. in Florence and was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are, his wife, Mrs. Carolyn Lane McConnell of Kingstree; one daughter, Mrs. Beth (Randy) Croom of Kingstree, a granddaughter, Emily R. Berry of Greenville; two step-grandsons, Josh Croom of Greenwood and Nathan Croom of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Dupree Spiers of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 am., Friday, in the WILLIAMBURG FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, conducted by Rev. Samuel Shumate and Rev. Stephen Williams. Burial will be in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Tideland Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St., Georgetown, S.C., or to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
YOUNKINS, Mary
Mary Margaret Johnson Younkins, 89, of Summerville, SC., formerly of Hagerstown, MD., died on November 20, 2002 at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, SC.
Born in Sharpsburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin Johnson and Anna Maria Butts Johnson.
Her Husband, Cameron W. Younkins, died in May of 1987. She was predeceased also by two brothers, R. Lewis and Russell V. Johnson.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters: Ann Carol Shockey of Latrobe, PA and Karen Gunter and her husband Wallace of Summerville, SC; two sisters: Henrietta M. Burns and Virginia J. Goslin, both of Hagerstown; four grandchildren: Laura Thoma and her husband, John of Greensburg, PA, Lynne Lipko and her husband Robert of Greensburg, PA., Dr. Andrew Gunter and his wife Heather of Falls Church, VA. and Matthew Gunter and his wife Kathryn of Winter Garden FL; four great grandchildren: Cassandra and Mariah Thoma, Cameron and Joshua Lipko all of Greensburg, PA, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 North Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD. at noon on Saturday, November 23, 2002. The Reverend David H. Clement of Greensburg, Pa.will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown, PA.

Entered into eternal rest on November 16, 2002, Corina Venis Davoulas, widow of Cosmos A.Davoulas. Residence, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, formerly of Charleston, SC. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 22ndat 2 o’clock in Live Oak Memorial Gardens in Charleston, SC.
Mrs. Davoulas was born February 15, 1904 in Kalayrta, Greece, the daughter of the late Constantine and Helen Bouleos Venis. She came to the United States in 1920 and resided in New York City until moving to Charleston, SC in 1945. She married
her husband in New York City in 1925. She resided in Charleston for 57 years before going to Pittsfield, MA in January 2001 to live with her daughter. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope for over fifty years. She loved to crochet and play bingo.
One daughter, Helen T. Maniatis and her husband Christo of Pittsfield, MA and Naples, FL, survives her. A grandson: Nicholas Maniatis and his wife Janet of Pittsfield, MA; a granddaughter: Kiki Robinson and her husband Frederick of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI; five great grandchildren: Kristy, Jennifer and Christopher Maniatis all of Boston, MA Frederick J. Robinson IV and Christopher Robinson both of Grosse Pointe, MI and many nieces and nephews. Three brothers and two sisters predeceased her.
