ZEIGLER, Peggy
ORANGEBURG - Peggy Lois Poole Zeigler, 70, of 1245 Lee Blvd., died November 18, 2002. She was born in Orangeburg, moved to Holly Hill, S.C., at an early age and attended the Holly Hill Schools. She was the daughter of the late E.H. and Lois Workman Poole of Holly Hill, S.C., and wife of John T. Zeigler, Jr. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, a graduate of Converse College, received her Masters Degree from the University of South Carolina and was an active participant in a number of civic and social clubs in the Orangeburg Community.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Katherine Poole Zeigler and two sons, John T. Zeigler, III, and Eugene Poole Zeigler, all residing in Columbia, S.C.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at St. Andrews United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. William H. Phillips, with burial at Memorial Park cemetery on Broughton Street.
Active pallbearers will be Warren Clarke, George Hill, Robert Jennings, Tommy Langford, Harry Mims, Terry Poole, D.D. Salley, Frank Shuler and Bill Wannamaker.
The family will receive friends at the home, 1245 Lee Blvd. Viewing will be available at DUKES-HARLEY FUNERAL HOME.

Shawn Marie Rhoad, 32, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Roper Hospital in Charleston. She was born April 15, 1970 in Charleston, SC, educated at Nativity Catholic School and was a 1988 graduate of Bishop England High School. Shawn was a certified teller at Wachovia, and was later employed by Check Mate Financial Services. She is survived by her mother, Barbara L. Rhoad of James Island, father Frank H. Rhoad of James Island, step-mother Debra L. Rhoad of North Charleston; brother Christian A. Rhoad; two sisters: Leah A. Rhoad and Morgan E. Rhoad; several aunts and uncles, many cousins and a host of friends. HARLEYVILLE - Romie Lee McFadden, 64, of 159 Two Churches Road, Harleyville, S.C., died Friday, November 15, 2002, at a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at St. Daniel United Methodist Church, Harleyville, S.C., with Rev. Marvin E. Bennett, Sr., officiating. Mr. McFadden was born December 25, 1937, in Harleyville, S.C., a son of Mrs. Virginia McFadden and the late Johnny McFadden. He was a member of the St. Daniel United Methodist Church and attended the public schools of Dorchester County. He was a former employee of Giant Cement Company and the Berkeley-Dorchester Economic Development Board.
Surviving are, his beloved wife, Mrs. Daisy Pringle McFadden of Harleyville, S.C., four sons, Michael McFadden, Jr., Harold McFadden, Cecil Pringle all of Harleyville, S.C., Tony Jakes of Holly Hill, S.C., five daughters, Vivian McFadden Allen, Nicole McFadden both of Harleyville, S.C., Iletta Green of St. George, S.C., Shekeel Bennet, April Bennett, both of Ridgeville, S.C.; three brothers, Kenneth Milton of Harleyville, S.C., Hubert Milton of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Hermine Milton of North Carolina; one sister, Gracie Brown of Dorchester, S.C. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
SPINN, Anne
Anne Loyd Spinn died on Saturday, November 9, at Trident Hospital after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her son Marshall Spinn and her daughter Priscilla Spinn and parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carruth Loyd of Summerville.
Mrs. Spinn was born May 27, 1931, in Atlanta, Ga. She was a graduate of Summerville High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and delegate to Girls' State in Columbia. Mrs. Spinn was a graduate of Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she received a B.A. degree in Dramatic Arts and Speech and Journalism. She was employed by WTMA radio station as a copywriter. After moving to California Mrs. Spinn was on the staff of the Daily Pilot Newspaper. She was well known for her humorous weather blurbs that ran on the front page and she also wrote a weekly column. On her return to Summerville she joined the staff of the Summerville Public Library. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Spinn is survived by her husband Gerald Spinn of Summerville, a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Lenore Spinn of Tampa, Fla., a son Mark Spinn of Aliso Viejo, California, and a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Les Allred of the Isle of Palms.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Cross, Sullivan's Island. The family requests that memorial tributes be made to the Girl Scouts of America.
RAYSOR, Edgar
Mr. Edgar Raysor of 1233 Sea Aire Dr. (James Island) entered into eternal rest Monday, November 18, 2002, in a local hospital. He is the husband of the late Mrs. Mary Raysor, beloved father of Ms. Mary Raysor, Edgar Raysor, Jr. (Avonee), Clarinda Raysor-Flores (Nestor), and Clarence Raysor; brother of AJ Raysor (Ida Mae), Hezikiah Raysor, Isadore Raysor (Elizabeth), Marjorie Count, Mattie Raysor, and Josephine Raysor. TAGGART, Rex Roger
Born July 2, 1921 in Elk City, Kansas, Dr. Taggart served in the United States Navy and, after serving the Pacific and Atlantic arenas, was selected to participate in the Navy V-12 Program. He received his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University-Warrensburg and was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus in 1994. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine where he also completed his residency in Family Practice.
In 1950, he was assigned to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii as commanding officer of the Base Infirmary and concurrently served as a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tripler Army Hospital, Honolulu. Upon being honorably discharged, Dr. Taggart located in Ottawa, Illinois where he practiced Family Medicine for 17 years and was President of Staff at Ryburn-King Memorial Hospital, President of the Illinois Obstetric and Gynecology Society and was co-founder of the Maternal and Child Health Society of Illinois. In 1967, he joined the US Department of State Foreign Service as Regional Medical Officer - East Africa posted in Mogadiscio, Somalia with subsequent posts in Vientiane, Laos; Vienna, Austria; and Washington, D.C.
After retiring as Assistant Under Secretary of State, Dr. Taggart became Medical Director of the Charlotte Treatment Center in Charlotte, NC and served as Preceptor for the University of North Caroline College of Medicine Family Practice Residency Program. He retired from medicine in 1988. He and his late wife, Lyda Gerster Taggart, relocated from Sun City Center, FL to Cooper Hall Senior Living Community of Mount Pleasant in 1998.
Dr. Taggart is survived by three daughters Karen Koerner of Isle of Palms, SC; Lani Wilson of Houston, TX; and Patty Carr of Lilburn, GA; one son, Larry Taggart of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Tracey Koerner of Mt. Pleasant; SC; Jennifer Koerner of Chicago, IL; Gentry Wilson of Houston, TX; Brittany Taggart of Houston, TX; Drew and Elizabeth Carr of Lilburn, GA; and great granddaughter Julia Koerner of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
A memorial service will be held in the auditorium of Cooper Hall Retirement Community at 937 Bowman Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC on Thursday, November 21, 2002, at 11:30 am with a family visitation following the service. Rogers officiating. Mrs. Sauls, 90, widow of Virgil Williams Sauls, Sr., died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at Pepper Hill Nursing Center. She was retired from Coastal Institutional Distributors in Walterboro, and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. GEORGETOWN - Lucille Hanna Morris Wiggins, 88, widow of Robert "RB" Morris and Bryant W. Wiggins, Sr., died Sunday evening, November 17, 2002, in a Mt. Pleasant nursing home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at the Georgetown Chapel of MCKENZIE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday evening, November 19, 2002, at the Georgetown Chapel.
Mrs. Wiggins was born December 11, 1913, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Franklin Benjamin Preston Hanna and Cassie Matthews Hanna. She as a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a Godly woman and a Christian example to all.
She was predeceased by her husbands; two grandchildren, Carl Kevin Morris and Thomas James Powell; one great-grandchild, Emily Elaine Powell; four step-sons, Hamar Jefferson Morris, Robert Daniel Morris, Oscar Rewis Morris, and Thomas Edward Morris.
Surviving are, three sons, James E. Morris, Carl L. Morris and his wife, Betty, of Georgetown, Harold D. Morris of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Jean M. Marlon and her husband, John, of Cross; four step-sons, Bryant Wiggins, Jr., Eugene Wiggins, Sheldon Wiggins, and Donald Wiggins; five step-daughters, Sadie M. Bluestein, Caroline Balough, Estelle Tasse, LeVenia Wiggins, Dorothy Carpenter; three brothers, Jeff Hanna and Liston Hanna of Hemingway, Carl Golden Hanna of Summerville; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
CUNNINGHAM, Johnny
GEORGETOWN - Johnny John Forrest Cunningham, 62, retired Maintenance Planning Analyst with International Paper, died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at Kindred Healthcare in Charleston.
Mr. Cunningham was born on June 1, 1940 in Bennettsville, a son of the late Forrest Frank Buck Cunningham and Rena Blanche Phillips Cunningham. He was a lifetime resident of Georgetown and retired from International Paper Company after thirteen years. Mr. Cunningham served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk and was also in the Naval Reserve. He was a member of North Hampton Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and taught Sunday school. Mr. Cunningham was also a member of the Pine Tree Club.
Surviving are: his wife, Mamie Evans Cunningham of Georgetown; two sons, Greg F. Cunningham and his wife Kathy of Georgetown and John Perry Cunningham of Greenville; a daughter, Tracey J. Cunningham of Georgetown; two brothers, Charles F. Cunningham and Sammy J. Cunningham, both of Georgetown; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Cunningham was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann Payne.
Graveside services will be Tuesday morning, November 19, 2002, at eleven o’clock at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be The Rev. Jack Mobley and The Rev. Hampton Perry. Arrangements are by the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.

Mrs. Casteel was born December 26, 1911 in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Frank S. Hausman and Sallie Beil Hausman. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

Verna Lammey Stizel Coon, 101, of Goose Creek passed away November 17, 2002 at home. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Lammey. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth C.
