SHAW, Russell
Russell Ramon Baskin Shaw, 76, of Charleston, died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 of brain cancer at a local nursing home.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Monday, November 11, 2002 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Charleston. The Committal Service will be 3 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Bishopville Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Born March 28, 1926 in Bishopville, SC, he was the son of the Russell Ramon Shaw and the late Marion Louise Baskin Shaw. Russell Shaw received his B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina in 1948. He completed two years of graduate work in Art History at the University of Chicago in 1950.
He was a member of The French Huguenot Society and The Carolina Yacht Club.
He served in the US Navy during WWII. During 1952-1954 he served with the Department of Defense in Germany. His career with The Foreign Broadcast Information Service took him to Cyprus during 1957 - 1959. Subsequently he joined the Central Intelligence Agency, where he served as intelligence officer until 1981. From 1981 until 1986, he worked at the Defense Intelligence College when he retired.
Mr. Shaw resided in Chevy Chase, Maryland from 1960 until 1990. He then returned to his home state, South Carolina, in 1990. He enjoyed an active social life and travel until his final illness.
Russell Shaw married
Countess Renata Vitzthum von Eckstadt in Manttae, Finland in 1954. He is survived by his wife and by a son Rembert E.V. Shaw and a daughter, Lori Shaw Dove and three grandchildren, Lisa, Noah, and Sara Dove.

BREWER, Kathleen
Kathleen Spires Brewer, 80, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Friday in a North Charleston hospital.

Mrs. Brewer was born March 6, 1922 in Neeses, SC, a daughter of Cleveland Spires and Maggie Bailey Spires. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
Surviving are, her husband, Frank F. Brewer; two daughters: Robin E. Austin and Cynthia B. Williams both of Moncks Corner; four sisters, Lois Jordan of Charleston, Dell Jeffcoat of North, Eloise Williams of Livingston, and Marie Hightower of Denmark; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
LUFF, Thomas
Thomas Charles Luff, 52, of High Hill Drive, Moncks Corner, SC, a retired insurance salesman for Farm Bureau, died Saturday in a Charleston hospital.

Mr. Luff was born December 2, 1949, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of John Paul Luff and Pearl Anderson Luff. He was the former owner and operator of Office Supply & Equipment Co. He was a former Jaycee and member of the Rotary Club. Mr. Luff was a member of Hood's Chapel United Methodist Church and a choir member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Caddell Luff; a daughter, Allison McKensie Luff of Moncks Corner; a son, Grayson Andrew Luff of Moncks Corner; and two brothers, John Daniel Luff of Macedonia and Robert Anderson Luff of Charleston.

Rudolph Cox, 69, died Saturday, November 9, 2002 in a Florence hospital.
Mr. Cox was born in Hemingway, a son of the late William Talbert Cox and the late Isla Miles Cox. He was a former owner of the Cox Brothers 76 Service Station, a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Johnsonville Pentecostal Holiness Church and former Sunday School Superintendent. He was a longtime Gamecock Club member and supporter and attended Hemingway schools. Surviving are his wife, Lois Browder Cox of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Samra Stone (Don) Baxley of Johnsonville; grandson, Don Barry Baxley, Jr. of Johnsonville; two brothers, Norman T. Cox of Moncks Corner, SC and Sherrell W. Cox of Hemingway; three sisters, Louise C. Hughes of Hemingway, Blondell C. Cook of Charleston, SC and Gloria C. Kroll of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday in the MORRIS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with burial in the Garden of Devotion cemetery.

Mrs. Fuller was born February 13, 1931 in Columbia, SC, a daughter of Horace Cleveland and Corrine Fields Hallman. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Charleston Hat Ladies. Mrs. Fuller was a Closing Coordinator for John Poston and Co., Inc.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna F. Rizer and her husband Scott of Walterboro, SC; two sons, Wes Fuller, Jr., and his wife Linda of James Island, SC, and Mitchell S. Fuller and wife Pamela of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren: Emma Hallman Rizer, Donald Scott Rizer, Jr., Ashley Louise Fuller, Madeline Grace Fuller; one brother, Dr. George O. Hallman, Sr. and his wife Eileen of Columbia, SC; one sister, Rebecca Adams, Des Moines, IA.
She is predeceased by a brother, H.C. Hallman, Jr.

MULLINAX, Herb
ANDERSON - Herbert Eugene Mullinax, 73, of 400 Berkshire Hill, husband of Pauline Branyon Mullinax, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Abbeville County, he was the son of the late James Emory and Addie Ashley Mullinax.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son, Ronnie Mullinax and his wife, Gail, of Anderson; one daughter, Sonja Trimmier and her husband, Dr. Edward P. Trimmier, of Pawley's Island; four grandchildren: Megan Mullinax, Nicholas Mullinax, Paula Trimmier and Ashley Trimmier; one brother, Harry Mullinax, of Belton; two sisters: Dorothy Cooley of Belton and Frances Krausse of Portsmouth, VA.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Don Mullinax, Charles Mullinax, Julian Mullinax, and Gilbert Mullinax, and by one sister, Ruth Brock.
Before retiring, he was owner and president of Imperial Packing Company, co-owner and president of Astro Builders, Inc. He was also a broker for Blue Ridge Beef and Mullberry Farms, Inc. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, was on the Stewardship Committee, and was on the building committee for the Christian Activity Center.
Funeral services will be at 3 PM Sunday at Boulevard Baptist Church, 700 Boulevard, Anderson, SC with Dr. Johnny McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:45 PM Sunday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The body is at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, and the family is at the residence.
