HUGHES, Frances
Frances Ioneene Kirsch Hughes, 90, of 2408 Briar Oak Circle, Sarasota, Fla., (formerly of Bamberg, S.C.), wife of the late Glenn Jefferson Hughes, died November 5, 2002, in Sarasota, Fla.
Born January 24, 1912, Mrs. Hughes was the daughter of the late Algin Hugo Kirsch and the late Marion Cauthen Kirsch. She was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church, Bamberg, S.C., and a retired supervisor of cafeteria from the State Hospital. She was a member of Eastern Star of Ehrhardt #64.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 9, 2002, 11 a.m., at Cooner Funeral Home Chapel. Officiated by Reverends Donnie Delk, Jim Palmer, and Dan Boineau. Burial will be in the Bamberg County Memory Gardens.
Survivors include, three sisters, Helen K. Baxley of North Charleston, Florence K. Thurley of Sarasota, Fla., and Ruth K. Demorst of Largo, Fla., a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, November 8, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at COONER FUNERAL HOME IN BAMBERG.

CROSS, S.C. - Mrs. Rebecca Brown, 81, of 414 Dollar Court, Cross, S.C., died November 2, 2002, at Trident Medical Center. Ms. Brown, the daughter of the late Mr. Eddie Pinckney and the late Alice Glover Pinckney, was born December 27, 1920, in Cross, S.C.

Vernon Rudell Feagin, 76, of Goose Creek, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2002. Born in Turbeville, SC on March 11, 1926, he was the son of J. Oliver and Elizabeth L. Feagin (nee Welch). He was a decorated World War II Veteran who served in the United States Army. He retired as an auto mechanic with Charleston Lincoln Mercury. He was a member of Corinthian Lodge #416, Rock Hill, SC, and a member of the Omar Shrine Temple, Charleston. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Feagin of Goose Creek, SC, one son, Ronald Mitchell Feagin of Anchorage, Alaska; one sister: Edna Feagin Locklear of North Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Martha Harbeson Miller, 86, of Summerville, widow of Clinton Lewis Harbeson, died Thursday morning in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2002, at 3 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville.
Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston.

Mrs. Miller was born on October 20, 1916, in Harleyville, S.C., a daughter of the late Peter Varner and Ida Mae Taylor Varner. She was a graduate of Harleyville schools. She worked three years as a librarian at Harleyville Schools. She was a charter member and secretary of Ferndale Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a retired department store manager. She was a member of Oakbrook Baptist Church.
Surviving are, her daughter, Martha H. Bryan of Summerville; two sons, Eugene "Gene" C. Harbeson of Vancouver, Washington, Leonard S. Harbeson of Graham, Washington; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Dantzler of Harleyville.

Oscar W. Corum, 67, of Summerville, husband of Katherine Buskey Corum died Wednesday evening in a North Charleston hospital.

Mr. Corum was born on March 22, 1935, in Eden, N.C., a son of the late Robert Lee Corum and Georgia Ann Vernon Corum. He served in the United States Navy. He was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. He was a member of the American Legion in Goose Creek and member of the American Pool Association. He was a retired engineer with Norden Systems in Norwalk, Conn. He was owner of Idea Tech in Summerville, S.C. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are, his wife, Katherine Buskey Corum of Summerville, S.C.; son, Curtis L. Corum of Hamden, Conn.; daughter, Cynthia A. Corum of Rockledge, Fla.; grandson, Joshua B. Corum of Hamden, Conn.; brothers, Aubrey Corum of Battle Creek, Mich., Elvis Corum of Boone, N.C.

Mr. Simon was born February 2, 1957, in Orangeburg County, a son of Ms. Elease Simon and the late John Lincoln. He was a member of the St. Stephens United Methodist Church and attended Bowman High School. He was a former of the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Surviving are a devoted son, John Simon, Jr., of Capital Heights, Md., his beloved mother, Ms. Elease Simon of Bowman, S.C., one beloved brother, Ike Simon of Bowman, S.C., four loving aunts, Ms. Ruth Simon and Ms. Cherry Simon both of Bowman, S.C. Phillipine Segar of St. George, S.C., and Mrs. Ella Dell Simmons of Harleyville, S.C. He is also survived by two nieces, and numerous other relatives and special friends.
BARNES, Warren
Mr. Warren R. Barnes, 74, of 410 Co Op Road West near Hampton, died early Wednesday morning in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Barnes was born in Hampton County, August 21, 1928, a son of the late Samuel Hartwell Barnes and Leona Rivers Barnes. He had retired from Westinghouse Corp. in Hampton as an Inspector and Foreman. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, was a member of the Skeeter - Scratchers Camping Club in Hampton, the Hampton County Saddle Club, and had attended the West End Baptist Church. Mr. Barnes was married
to the late Erlene Barnes.
Surviving are, one son, Warren R. Barnes, Jr., of West Columbia; one daughter, Linda Williams of Allendale; one brother, Samuel Barnes of Walterboro; and three sisters, Willie Lee Barnes and Clarice Pulaski, both of Hampton; and Veronica Zeyak of Albany, New York. There are four grandchildren, Kimberly Marie Barnes, Leigh Ann Barnes, Lisa Marie Williams, and Christine Anne Williams.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, in the Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN HAMPTON, with burial in the Crocketville cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, and Saturday morning prior to services.
