HOLLOMAN, Heyward
Heyward Reed Holloman, 86, of Hanahan, died Monday, November 4, 2002, at his residence. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 7, 2002, at Ferndale Baptist Church, 4870 Piedmont Ave., North Charleston, at 2 p.m. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
Born July 9, 1916, in Bishopville, S.C. (Lee County) he was the son of the late Adam Depele Hollowman and Carrie Belle Conyers Holloman.
Mr. Holloman was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was an Army veteran. He was a faithful member of the Ferndale Baptist Church and a life member of the Masonic Hammerton Lodge 332.
Survivors include, daughters, Linda Cornatzer Bennett, and husband Harvey of Hanahan, Judy Ankersen and husband Ben of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Cheryl Frazier and husband Paul, of Cottageville, Joyce Blitch and husband Harold of Greenville, N.C., Jan Holloman Wojcik and husband John of Goose Creek. Son, Heyward R. Holloman, Jr., and wife Marilyn of Ladson, sisters, Mary Sue Hooks, of Whiteville, N.C., Elma Radcliff, of Sumter, S.C., 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A special "Sweetie" Lee Allen.
Mr. Holloman was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Williams Hollowman.

POPE, Elmira
GEORGETOWN - Elmira Barnhill Pope, 86, died Monday, November 4, 2002, at her residence.
Mrs. Pope was born in Georgetown County on December 23, 1915, a daughter of the late Dudley Joseph Barnhill and Sarah Clara Bullard Barnhill. She grew up in Pleasant Hill and was a graduate of the Old Union High School in 1934. Mrs. Pope lived in Hemingway for a short time prior to moving to the Sampit Community of Georgetown County. She was employed by the S. C. Forestry Commission as the Sampit Fire Tower operator for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1978. Mrs. Pope was a member of Sampit United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Adult Sunday School Class. She was the widow of Theron Kermit Pope.
Surviving are: four sons, Wendell B. Pope and his wife Beulah of Columbia, Gerald T. Pope and his wife Betty of Asheville, N. C., Rupert B. Pope and his wife Janet of Georgetown, and Phillip R. Pope and his wife Bingham of Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Clara P. Casselman and her husband Lee of Nebo, N. C. and Vergie P. Howard of Georgetown; special sisters-in-law, Dottie A. Barnhill and Irene R. Barnhill; seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning, November 7, 2002, at eleven o’clock in Sampit United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Scott Johnson. Burial will follow in Sampit United Methodist cemetery under the direction of the GEORGETOWN CHAPEL OF MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Wednesday evening, November 6, 2002 from six until eight o’clock.

MOORE, Thelma
ANDREWS - Thelma Michau Moore, 82, died Monday, November 4, 2002, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Mrs. Moore was born on October 2, 1920 in the Sutton’s Community of Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Eddie Michau and Daisy Ward Michau. She was a founding member of Twin Pine Church of God of Prophecy where she was active in fund raising for the church. Mrs. Moore was the widow of George P. Moore.
Surviving are: a son, Dale Moore of Andrews; three daughters, Linda Litchfield Powell of Andrews, Faye Moore of Macedonia, and Ruby Lee Thomas of Orangeburg; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Moore was predeceased by: a son, George Preston Moore, Jr.; a brother, Olin Michau; and five sisters, Odie Wilson, Mizzie Wilson, Sally Lambert, Leila Jane Michau, and Jessie Moore.
Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon, November 6, 2002, at three o’clock at Twin Pine Church of God of Prophecy. Officiating will be the Rev. David Thomas and the Rev. Judy Floyd. Burial will follow in the Churchyard under the direction of the ANDREWS CHAPEL OF MAYER FUNERAL HOME.

MSgt. Yawn, 64, was born March 9, 1938 in Albany, Georgia, the son of the late Lewis Joe and Bettie Lee Bullington Yawn. He was a career military NCO, retiring after 22 ½ years of service to his country in the United States Air Force having served as a civil engineer in Morocco, VietNam, Germany and numerous stateside assignments including the Charleston Air Force Base. Following his military retirement, he was a civil service construction inspector in the Charleston area for many years.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Frances McGhee Yawn of Summerville, SC; his sons, Jimmie Lewis Yawn, Jr. of St. George, SC and Roger Allen Yawn of Summerville, SC; his daughter, Julie Ann Crouse of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by five grandchildren, USAF Academy Cadet Danny Yawn, Bobby Yawn, James Yawn, Benjamin Crouse and Timothy Crouse. Mr. Yawn was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lee Yawn.

Anthony Edward Grande, 67, of Summerville, SC, husband of Linda Marko Grande, died Monday, November 4, 2002 at his residence.

Mr. Grande was born October 30, 1935 in Newark, NJ, a son of Edward Grande and Helen Vanditto Grande. He was a fleet service clerk with American Airlines.
