BOOTLE, Lula
YEMASSEE - Lula Mae Crosby Bootle, 82, widow of Freddie Bootle, died Thursday at the Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the chapel of the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME, conducted by Rev. David Cox. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bootle was born July 8, 1920, in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Barney Irvin Crosby and Minnie Lee Crosby. She was a member of Bedon Baptist Church and was a retired cafeteria worker at Ritter Elementary School.
Surviving are, sons, James Freddie Bootle and wife, Elaine Kinsey Bootle and Jackie Everette Bootle both of Yemassee, a brother, James Curtis Crosby of Charleston, a sister Nadine Ritter of Walterboro and a grandson, James Everette Bootle and wife, Nicole Etchieson Bootle of Yemassee. She was preceded in death by a brother, Barney Irvin Crosby, Jr., of Lexington, Ky.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m., the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.

Larry E. Pope, Sr., 47, of Summerville, S.C., husband of Lori Riley Pope, died Thursday, October 31, 2002, at MUSC.

Mr. Pope was born on July 31, 1955, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., a son of Bennie E. Pope and Virginia Moore Pope. He was a Rad-Con Tech for Bettis-Bechtel and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He was an U.S. Navy veteran of the Persian Gulf War.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Pope; three sons, Le Pope, Matt Pope and Benjie Pope; his father and mother, Bennie E. and Virginia L. Pope, all of Summerville; brother, Mike Pope of Alabama; and two sisters, Teresa Berger of Atlanta, Ga., and Janice Wyman of Maine.

FRASIER, Anna
GREEN POND - Anna Laura Richard Frasier, 102, of Miami, FL and formerly of Green Pond, SC and widow of the late Rev. Mike Frasier, died October 23, 2002 in Miami, FL.
The funeral will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2002, in Jerusalem AME Church, White Hall. Burial, directed by HAMILTON'S FUNERAL HOME of Walterboro, will be in Pynes cemetery, Green Pond, SC.
Mrs. Frasier was born in White Hall, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Silvia Richard. She was a member of Jerusalem AME Church and served as a member of the usher board, missionary society and stewardess. She was also the Mother of the Church.
Survivors are: a daughter, Queen E. Smith and several grandchildren.
GRAY, Thelma
Thelma Dean Gray, 88, died Monday, October 28, 2002, at her residence. Mrs. Gray was born November 11, 1913, in Charleston, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Columbus Evert Dean and Stella Blanche Cavender Dean. She was a graduate of Charleston High School in Charleston, W.Va. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Col. Russell Earl Gray, USAF Ret. Married to an Air Force Officer she never consented to fly to any destination. Even though she and the family lived in the Philippines and Hawaii, travel by ocean-liner was her means of transportation. She and her husband retired in the Washington, D.C., are and later moved to Melbourne, Fla. Six years ago they relocated to Charleston, S.C. Mrs. Gray is survived by one brother, Kermit Dean, of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Betty Laparl, of Ohio; one son, Russell Earl Gray, Jr., and wife Patricia, of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Penelope (Penny) Todd and husband Larry, of Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a family visitation at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 150 Wentworth St., on Thursday, October 31, 2002, from 4 to 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2002, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel.
