VALENTINE, Frank
Franklin D. "Frank" Valentine, 69, of Summerville, husband of Marcella Scheuffele Valentine died Monday evening at his residence.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 31, 2002 at 1 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock this evening.

Mr. Valentine was born June 25, 1933 in James Island, SC, a son of the late Barnie Hulen and Ellen Crosby Valentine. He was a James Island native. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the American Legion. He was a retired heavy machine operator with Charleston County Public Works for 30 years. His love for the outdoors was his passion, his family was his joy. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.
He leave behind his wife, Sallie, of 32 years; son, Darin Valentine and his wife Sharon of Garrison, Iowa; 7 daughters: Sandra Miller of Charleston, SC, Bonnie Carambla of Hampton, VA, Roxanne Cloran & Danette Brew, both of Spartanburg, SC, Raenelle Joyner of Goose Creek, SC, Andrea Wyndham of Summerville, SC, Sherry Workmiester of Mechanecville, MD; foster daughter, Sherry Franceschi of Summerville, SC; 23 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Leroy and Charles E. Valentine.

KLINE, Leonard
Entered into eternal rest on Monday afternoon, October 28, 2002, Leonard Effon Kline, widower of Mary Travis Bates Kline. Residence, Goose Creek, S.C. Mr. Kline was born in Greensboro, N.C., October 1, 1920, to the late Harry M. Kline and Mrs. Mary Manekin Kline. He was a World War II Navy Sea Bee veteran and was the owner and operator of Goose Creek Recycling Company. Among his other interests were memberships in the 40 & 8 Voiture, the American Legion Post #166, Goose Creek, S.C., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his son, Robert Lynn Kline of Ladson, S.C., a brother, Charles Kline of Charlotte, N.C., five grandchildren, Sarah Wall, Jennifer Kline, Jody Kline, Jamie LaGraff and Robin Kline as well as three great-grandchildren.

Mary Frances Ott, 21, of Johns Island, died Sunday, October 27, 2002 at a local hospital. She was a student and attended Trident College School of Nursing. She is survived by her father and stepmother, Eddie and Marsha Ott of North Charleston, mother and stepfather, Nancy and Eddie Bryant of Johns Island, a boyfriend, Christopher M. Hurt, paternal grandmother, Mary Forsberg Ott, maternal grandfather, Earnest L. Hall, stepbrothers, Chris and Scott, several aunts and uncles including, David and Sally Ott of Summerville, Charles and Linda Ott of Mt. Pleasant, Jerry and Sandy Ott of Moncks Corner, Gerald and Pam Straughan of Charleston, Mary Ann and David Albertson of Goose Creek, Buddy Silliman of Charleston, and many cousins.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at the Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting St., Charleston. Inurnment will follow at Magnolia cemetery.

Harold Lanier Dandridge, 86, of Summerville, husband of Elizabeth Anderson Dandridge, died Monday, October 28, 2002, at a local hospital.

Mr. Dandridge was born on August 4, 1916, in Cottageville, S.C., a son of Henry Dandridge and Mary Rhodes Dandridge. He was retired from Garco and was a self-employed contractor. He was a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church and was an U.S. Merchant Marine veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Anderson Dandrige of Summerville; one son; one step-son; one brother, Lloyd Dandridge of Ladson, S.C.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

CARPENTER, Louise
THOMASVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Louise Martin Carpenter, 86, a resident of 225 Hedrick Drive, Piedmont Center, formerly of Kathland Avenue, died Monday evening, October 28, 2002, in the Thomasville Medical Center. She was born August 7, 1916, in Sanford, N.C., a daughter of the late James Nelson Martin and Margaret Carroll Bowman Martin. She was a graduate of East Carolina Teacher's College. Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and a former school teacher in the North Carolina School Systems. She was a member of the Thomasville's Woman Club. Mrs. Carpenter was a long-time active member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
On August 14, 1942, she was married
to Harvey Alexander Carpenter, Jr., who preceded her in death, January 27, 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Ms. Mary Lou Harris of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Harvey A. (Al) Carpenter, III, and wife Lease of Thomasville, N.C., and Ronald Nelson Carpenter and wife Jerry of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; a sister, Miss Ruth Martin of Thomasville; five grandchildren, Alec Carpenter and wife Dawn, Ron Carpenter, II, Casey Martin Harris, Jennifer Carmen Harris and Christian Carpenter.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 31, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Holly Hill Memorial Park cemetery, with Dr. Kyles Y. Wallace, Rev. Peggy Finch and Rev. Sarah Snell officiating. Mrs. Carpenter will remain at the J.C. GREEN & SONS FUNERAL HOME until the service hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and other times at the home of a son, Al Carpenter, 131 Circle Drive, Thomasville.

Ronald Edward Ford "Ronnie" 48 of Charleston, S.C., passed away Friday, October 25, 2002. Mr. Ford was born in South Boston on January 14, 1954. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Earl Ford and is survived by his mother Ruby Wilborne Ford of Chester, Va. A son, Ronald Ford of Jacksonville, Fla., one brother Cary E. Ford of South Boston, two sisters, Brenda Mays of Chester, Va., and Nancy McNair of Tampa, Fla. He leaves behind many other loving family members.

BARNES, Leona
BEAUFORT, S.C. - Leona Mixon Barnes, 89, widow of Argual W. Barnes, died Monday, October 28, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m., at the Baptist Church of Beaufort. Interment will be in the churchyard.
Mrs. Barnes was born February 27, 1913, in Hampton, S.C., a daughter of Jennie Mixon Mixon and Charles H. Mixon.
She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and had previously worked with Dr. A.S. Jenkins and Dr. C.A. Bush. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Beaufort.
Surviving are, a daughter, Mary Buijanrowski of Bluffton; two sisters, Lula Stroman of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Doris Anderson of Beaufort; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Baptist Church of Beaufort, Post Office Box 879, Beaufort, S.C. 29901.

TILLER, Annelle
GEORGETOWN - Anelle Teal Tiller, 89, died Monday, October 28, 2002, in Columbia.
Mrs. Tiller was born in Chesterfield County on September 23, 1913, a daughter of the late Dr. Duett Thompson Teal and Margaret Addie Isom Teal. She was a graduate of Converse College and taught music in the Georgetown Public Schools until retirement. Mrs. Tiller was the widow of the late William Bonneau "Billy" Tiller. She was a talented musician and an avid bridge player.
Surviving are, a son, William Bonneau "Beau" Tiller, Jr., of Columbia; a daughter, Margaret Annelle Tiller Grant of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren, William Bonneau Tiller, III, Sarah Skardon Tiller, Margaret Teal Tiller, Henry White Tiller, William Bradley Grant, and Jason Christopher Grant.
Mrs. Tiller was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning, October 31, 2002, at 11 o'clock at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Phillip C. Thrailkill and The Rev. Clarence D. Williams. Burial will follow in Elmwood cemetery under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday evening, October 30, 2002, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
