GUNTER, Jeremy
Jeremy Dean Gunter, 30, of Summerville, husband of Patricia Anne Dress Gunter, died Saturday in a North Charleston hospital.
Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at 10:30 o'clock in St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. Burial will be in Old Baptist cemetery in St. Stephens.

Jeremy was born on February 19, 1972, in Charleston, S.C., a son of Phyllis Gunter DeMarco of Summerville and the late Franklin Douglas Gunter. He attended Hanahan High School. He was a heavy equipment operator with Dorchester County Water and Sewer Plant. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are, his wife of Summerville; one son, Austin Gunter of Summerville; two brothers, Vance Lee Gunter of Hanahan, Philip Wayne Gunter of Summerville; one sister, Connie Sue Alley of Summerville; mother and step-father, Phyllis Gunter DeMarco and Jeff DeMarco of Summerville; great-grandmother, Beatrice Brassell of St. Stephens; father and mother-in-law, Walter M. and Anna Maria Smith of Virginia Beach, Va.

Entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 27, 2002, Elizabeth "Bette" Momeier Santos, beloved wife of Robert "Bobby" B. Santos of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was born Monday, September 23, 1929 in Charleston, the daughter of R.H. and Juanita Beach Momeier. Mrs. Santos attended Mary Washington College and the College of Charleston. She was a former Miss Isle of Palms and an avid bridge player. Mrs. Santos was predeceased by a son, Robert B. Santos, Jr. and a brother, R.H. Momeier, Jr. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, a son, John Michael Santos and his wife Bronwyn of Mt. Pleasant, a brother, Robert Momeier and his wife Mary of the Isle of Palms and many nieces and nephews. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Mary Frances Ott, 21, of Johns Island, died Sunday, October 27, 2002 at a local hospital. She was a student and attended Trident College School of Nursing. She is survived by her father and stepmother, Eddie and Martha Ott of North Charleston, mother and stepfather, Nancy and Eddie Bryant of Johns Island, a boyfriend, Christopher M. Hurt, paternal grandmother, Mary F. Ott, maternal grandfather, Earnest L. ANDREWS - Christine W. Rodgers, 81, widow of L. D. Rodgers, died Monday at her residence. Mrs. Rodgers was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late John Davis and Sarah (Fannie) Matthews Walters. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and was a retired businessperson. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
Surviving: 1 son: Lewis Davis (Vickie) Rodgers of Manning, 1 daughter: Deloris R. (Thomas) Harrelson of Andrews; 2 sisters: Mable W. Rodgers of Kingstree and Trudy (Ray) Wooten of Kinston, NC; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grands and "Petey".

CHAMBERLAIN, JR., O.
Services for Olin Burnham (Smokey) Chamberlain, Jr., formerly of Charleston and Columbia will be held Wednesday at 12 p.m., at REINS-STURDIVANT FUNERAL HOME in Newland, N.C. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m., before the service.
Mr. Chamberlain died October 27, 2002. Born in Charleston, he was the only son of Dr. Olin Burnham Chamberlain and Lucile Jaycocks Chamberlain. He graduated from Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va., and attended Clemson College before entering the U.S. Army during World War II. He spent his career in the food services industry and was a co-founder of ACH Brokerage. He was an avid hunter and sailor both in Charleston at the Carolina Yacht Club and in Columbia at the Columbia Sailing Club. After retiring, he moved to Beech Mountain, N.C.
Surviving are his wife, Harriett McMillan Chamberlain of Beech Mountain, N.C., his daughters, Anne and her husband William Pearson Fowler, Faye and her husband Daniel Clayton Goolsby; son, William Jaycocks Chamberlain, all of Columbia; son, Olin Burnham Chamberlain, III, of Charleston.

MIZELL, SR., George
George R. Mizell, Sr., died Thursday, October 24, 2002, at Parrish Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 77 years old, born in Morehead City, NC, October 9, 1925, the son of Clarence Hyatt Mizell, Sr., and Dora Styron Mizell. Mr. Mizell is survived by his wife of 55 years, Viola McGowen Mizell and two sons, George R. Mizell, Jr., of St. Marys, GA, and Richard Alan Mizell of Merritt Island, FL, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Mizell and three grandsons, Richard Alan, II, Kyle and Matthew.
He leaves two sisters, Lena M. Racioppa of Huger, S.C., and Ann M. Winters of Hanahan, S.C. Three-sisters-in-law, Evanelle M. Hall of Daphne, Ala., Sissy M. Brinson of Hanahan, S.C., and Margie M. Dobson of North Charleston, S.C. There are many nephews and nieces. Mr. Mizell attended schools in Charleston, S.C., and is a graduate of The Citadel. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea. His career included 20 years and retirement from IBM and a second retirement from McDonnell Douglas. He was an avid fisherman in his spare time. Mr. Mizell was a Christian and a Baptist by profession of faith. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association through the Always and Forever Honor Program.
