KINGSTREE - Emily Ann Hanna, 53, died Friday.
Miss Hanna was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Marguerite McClary Hanna and Samuel McBride Hanna. She attended Williamsburg County Schools.
Survivors: 4 brothers, Henley Hanna and Charles Hanna, both of Kingstree, Samuel Hanna of Manning, and Phil Hanna of Bonneau.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, with burial to follow in McClary cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Saturday from 6 - 8 PM. Memorials may be made to Pee Dee Center, National cemetery Road, Florence, SC.
NEWMAN, Elizabeth
CLEVELAND, TN - Elizabeth Gray Newman, age 95, a resident of Gray Court, SC, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2002. She was born in Bradley County (Tennessee) and was the daughter of the late Rev. W. E. Gray and Martha Lee Easterly. Mrs. Newman was the widow of Pryor Newman of Cleveland, TN, and James William Dixon of Knoxville, TN. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church in Cleveland.
Mrs. Newman is survived by three daughters: Patti Daniels and Nancy Waters, both of Charleston, and Melinda Miles of Gray Court, SC; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Saturday in the chapel of RALPH BUCKNER FUNERAL HOME IN CLEVELAND, TN with the Reverend Debbie Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill cemetery.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Fennessy was born, August 10, 1915, in Charleston, S.C., the son of John F. Fennessy and Martha Lanier Fennessy. He retired as an electrician with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the Chicora Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Omar Temple.
He is survived by his wife of Folly Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Nancy F. Ashdown of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Ricahrd P. Fennessy of Johns Island, S.C., and Robert J. Fennessy of Moore, S.C.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

BARROSO, Reynaldo
Reynaldo Balbastro Barroso, 80, of Sorrento Blvd., Hanahan, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, October 22, 2002, following a brief illness. He is the beloved husband of Nicanora Umali Barroso, of Hanahan, his beloved wife of 57 years.
Reynaldo B. Barroso was born in Manila, Philippines, to the late Dimas Barroso and Marie Barroso of Bay, Laguna, Philippines.
He was a veteran of World War II. Using his educational benefits, he graduated at Mapua Institute of Technology and National University with a B.S. Degree in architecture. His career started with 14 years in private practice in Manila; worked in Vietnam for 5 years with U.S. Dept of Defense Installations during the war in South Vietnam. After the United States Withdrawal in Vietnam, he moved on with his family to New York, where he worked with different notable architectural firms.
He retired from British American Tobacco US (Batus) which owned several department stores like, Sacks Fifth Avenue, Gimbels, Etc. After retirement, he and his family chose South Carolina. Impressed by the Philippines-like weather, its courteous, nice, respectful people, and the many friendly caring, helpful Filipino-Americans.
He belonged to the Baylandia Club, Philippines. A member of Filipino Community Center of Goose Creek, which he and his wife and other Filipino-Americans organized. He was also a member of the League of Philippines Architects.
"Rey" as he was fondly called, by his employers, co-workers, and friends is survived by his wife, Nicanora Umali Barroso; son, GB Gerard Barroso, and his granddaughters, Christine Ann and Leah Michele Barroso; sisters, Calixta Barroso Berris of Seattle, Wash., Alicia Barroso Galapon of Bay Laguna Philippines; other relatives include, Marie Corazon Barroso, of New York, Manuel and Lynne Barroso of Bay, Laguna, Joseph and Yollie Barroso of Queens, New York.

VAUGHN, JR., John
John Vaughn, Jr., 68, of Summerville, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at his residence.
A funeral service was held, Thursday, October 17, 2002, 3:30 p.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, burial followed in Carolina Memorial Park.
Born in Greenville County, November 8, 1933, he was the son of the late John Vaughn and Alice Holcombe Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn was a retired civil service fire fighter. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Vaughn was a life member of the Rifle Club, and the Mason Lodge in Summerville. He was of the Protestant Faith. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and brother.
Survivors include, his wife Barbara Mason Vaughn of Summerville, his mother Alice Holcombe Vaughn, of Belton, two daughters, April D. Lee of Summerville, Jennifer Rae Vaughn of Summerville, three sisters, Hettie Darby of Summerville, Mary Strawn of Summerville, Elizabeth Gambrel of Belton, four brothers, Bobby Holcombe of Leesville, Henry Vaughn of Belton, Thomas Vaughn of Williamston and Roger Vaughn of Belton, one granddaughter, Casey Lynn Lee of Summerville, and a loving little animal by the name of Fancy Girl.
