Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning December 18, 2002, The Reverend John Espy Watts, Jr., husband of Nana Lee Nancy Frost Watts. Residence Summerville, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of The Reverend and Mrs. John Espy Watts, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in The Second Presbyterian Church, Charleston, S.C., Saturday morning, December 21, 2002 at Eleven o’clock.
Interment will follow in the churchyard. Friends may call at the Presbyterian Home, Summerville, S.C. Friday between four and six o’clock.

Reverend Watts was born July 4, 1909 in Cameron, Texas a son of the late John Espy and Ora Quaid Watts. Mr. Watts was a retired U. S. Navy Chaplain having honorably served his country for over twenty three years. Mr. Watts attended the University of Texas, and a graduate of Baylor University and received his Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological University, Decatur, Ga.
Surviving are his wife of Summerville, S.C., a nephew and wife, John Frederick and Kaaren Sullivan of Woodville, Texas, a niece Martha Jean Sullivan of Nacogdoches, Texas.
CRAWFORD, Joseph
ANDREWS - Joseph Earl Crawford, 70, died Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2002, at the Victory Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Andrew memorial cemetery, directed by Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Mr. Crawford was born July 12, 1932, in Franklin County, Apalachicola, Fla., a son of Medie Maryland Crawford and Ollie Neal Crawford. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with the Chargeuers Wool USA Plant in Jamestown, and was a member of the Victory Free Will Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Mae Taylor Crawford.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Eugenia G. Crawford of Andrews, are a son, Thomas Crawford of Andrews; two daughters, Carolyn Case and Betty Crawford, both of Andrews; a step-son, Tony Bowers of Andrews; two step-daughters, Carolyn Locklair of Trio; and Marilyn Gibson of Andrews; a sister, Shirley C. Brouillard of Englewood, Fla., 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The Crawford family will receive family and friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday evening, at the ANDREWS CHAPEL OF MCKENZIE FUNERAL HOME.
QUATTLEBAUM, William
NORTH - Funeral services for Mr. William G. Quattlebaum, age 38, will be held at 1 PM Thursday, December 19, 2002 at CULLER-MCALHANY FUNERAL HOME chapel with burial in Beulah Baptist cemetery in Branchville.
Mr. Quattlebaum was born in Summerville, a son of Hattie Quattlebaum Riles. He was employed by Gartman Land Clearing.
Survivors include his mother of Sumter; brother, Milburn Riles, Jr. of Sumter; and sister, Melissa Riles of Sumter.

Lottie Powers Britton, 105, of Summerville, formerly of Hollywood, widow of William Joseph Britton, Sr., died Monday morning at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2002, at 11 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Entombment will be in Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock this evening.

Born September 3, 1897, in the Carvers Bay section of Georgetown County, S.C., she was the daughter of William Nathan Powers and Sarah Ellen Johnson Powers. At a very early age, the family moved from Georgetown to Charleston, S.C. She attended Winyah School in Georgetown, S.C. She was married
to William Joseph Britton, Sr., on November 11, 1914. In 1927 the family moved from Charleston to "Britton's Curve." During the depression of the thirties she provided and cared for her family of ten children, her mother and her brother's children, Kenneth Eugene Powers and Madeline Powers. She was an unselfish provider of food to those in need and otherwise also nurse, friend and confidant to neighbor and stranger. After rearing her family she worked for the South Carolina Department of Education for 29 years as Supervisor of the school lunch program until her retirement at age 70. Serving at Rantowles Graded School, Meggett Elementary School and R.D. Schroder Middle School. She was a member of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3142. On the motion of Senator William S. Branton, Jr., dated June 25, 1987, Lottie Powers Britton received a current Resolution, resolved in the Senate and House of Representatives of the South Carolina General Assembly. To recognize her as one of Charleston County's most outstanding citizens, Mrs. Britton celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at the South Carolina Society Hall, Charleston, S.C. She received from the State of South Carolina, issued by: David M. Beasley, Governor and conferred upon her, "The Order of the Palmetto" on August 31, 1997, and presented to her by Senator Glenn F. McConnell. She received a certificate from the Senate of the State of South Carolina, and a motion of Senator Arthur Ravenel, Jr., and unanimous consent and congratulations of the members of the South Carolina senate on the occasion of her 100th birthday and recognition of her selfless service to family, neighbors and citizens of her community, given on the 3rd day of September 1997, and presented by Senator Arthur Ravenel, Jr., and Senator-elect William S. Branton, Jr. She was the oldest member of Calvary Baptist Church, Meggett, S.C.
She is survived by five sons, J. Foster Britton and his wife Irene of Summerville, William Joseph Britton, Jr., of Charleston, Isaac Ripon Britton and his wife Faye of Jackson's Gap, Ala., Wilson Kenneth Britton and his wife Brenda of Hollywood, Charles Edward Britton and his wife Roma Lee of Georgetown; three daughters, Caroline B. Waters of North Charleston, Lois B. Boyles of Winter Garden, Florida, Ann B. Dodd and her husband, Larry of Jacksonville, Fla.; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Evelyn Britton Hutto Green and Lottie Britton Howard Rhodes and also a grandson, Charles Robert Waters.

She is survived by one son, Charles W. Heinsohn and wife, Betty Ann, of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Jean Heinsohn of Charleston, SC and Joyce H. Hunder and husband, Dick, of Concord, Ohio; one brother, William A. Sander, Jr. of Charleston, SC; one sister, Dorothy S.
