CLASSEN, Anna
Anna Moss Classen, 78, of North Charleston, widow of Raymond "Dutch" L. Classen died December 5, 2002, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 6, 2002, 4 p.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
Born December 1, 1924, in New York. She was the daughter of the late Albert Moss and Anna Mullen.
Mrs. Classen was retired from Woolworth's Department Store and a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include, four sons, Ralph Classen of New York, Ronald Classen of Charleston, Frank Classen of Charleston, Albert Classen of North Charleston, ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2002, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston. Arrangements being handled by CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME.

POLK, SR., William
ISLANDTON - Mr. William Thomas Polk, Sr., 62, of 2668 Polk Road, died Wednesday at Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 7, in the Rice Patch Christian Church with the Rev. Ted Tinker, Rev. Michael Polk, and Rev. Billy Harriett officiating. Interment will be in the Cross Swamp United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mr. Polk was born February 22, 1940, in Colleton County and was a son of Harry Polk and the late Zola Sauls Polk. He was the owner of Polk's Bar-B-Que and retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton. He was the founder of Polk's Hunting Club. He was a farmer and an avid fisherman and hunter. He attended the Walterboro Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are, his wife of 43 years, Mrs. Azilee Woods Polk; sons and their wives, William Thomas Polk, Jr., and Mandy, and Rev. Michael Lee Polk and Robin, all of Islandton; a grandchildren, Kayla "Punkin" Polk of Islandton; brother, Hershel Polk of Yemassee; sisters, Jackie Ranley of Ladson, Carolyn Ehney of Islandton and Judy Bazzle of Ehrhardt; several nieces and nephews; and two very best friends, Donald Lyons and Burt Linder.

Alice Virginia Rawlings, 77, died at her residence on James Island, Thursday, December 5, 2002. She was born in Germantown, Ohio, May 29, 1925, and has lived in Charleston, S.C., most of her life. She was a member of James Island Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her daughter Jan Karel Sedalik, her sons, Eugene Alvin Rawlings, Jr., James Richard Rawlings, Jon Michael Rawlings, Mark Aln Rawlings; her six grandchildren, Trey, Jami, Jonathan, David, Mikee, Sarah; two great-grandchildren Mikali and Katherine all of Charleston; sister Bette Springs, Appleton, WI and brother Jack Felter, Albuquerque, NM. KUMMET, Marvin
Marvin L. Kummet, 69, of Goose Creek, SC, died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at a hospital in Charleston. He retired from the United States Navy with 26 years as a Warrant Officer #4. He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to the late Harry and Grace Qinn Kummet. He was a member of the Palmetto Gun Club. He will be sadly missed by his wife Helen Rest Kummet, two brothers, Richard and wife JoAnn Kummet of Chippaw, Wisconsin, Donald Kummet of Eau Claire, WI; three sisters, Barbara and husband El Swanson of Eau Claire, WI, June and husband Chuck Leftwich of Little Rock, Arkansas, Patricia and husband Albert Woody of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and many wonderful friends. Surviving are two sons, Charles Norz (Judith) of Old Saybrook, Conn., and Arthur Norz (Marie) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; one daughter, Margaret Kist (Peter) of Princeton, N.J.; one sister, Lucille Tierney of New York, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
JONES, James

Mr. Jones was born March 25, 1921, in Charleston, S.C., son of William M. Jones and Janie Tumbleson Jones. He worked in the pulp and paper industry. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Fifth Ranger Division and participated in the D-Day Invasion where he was decorated with a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife of Covington, Va.; two sons, Russell H. Jones of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Stephen G. Jones of Covington, Va.; two brothers, Leo Jones and Milton Jones both of North Charleston, S.C.; and one sister, Winfried J. Turner of North Charleston, S.C.

Mrs. Vogel was born December 7, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a daughter of John Sinkovec and Alice Sprecker Sinkovec. She was a graduate of Catholic schools and was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Amy Lynn Vogel of North Charleston, S.C., and Cathy Jo Burt of Harleyville, S.C.; one son, Michael Lee Vogel of Hollywood, S.C.; three brothers, two step-brothers; one step-sister; a step-mother, Rita Sinkovec of Wisconsin; four grandchildren; and a long-time companion, Thomas Bergen of Charleston, S.C.
