Raul Quintana Mendoza, 17, of Goose Creek died suddenly Saturday, November 30thas a result of a car accident. Born in Cortazar, Guanajuato Mexico to Raul Quintana Paredes and Nieves Mendoza Vera. He was employed at Rivertown Country Club in the ground maintenance department. He is survived by three brothers, Pilar Quintana Mendoza, Sergio Rosas Mendoza both of Charleston, and Juan Rosas Mendoza of Florida. Also a sister, Rosario Rosas Mendoza of Florida, and a sister-in-law, Debra Rosas Mendoza of Charleston. BAMBERG - Mr. Graham Padgett, 77, 1003 Hadwin Road, Bamberg, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 oclock Friday, December 6, 2002 in the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel. Interment will follow in the Carters Ford Baptist Church cemetery. Mr. Padgett was born March 23, 1925 in Colleton County, and was a son of the late Frank and Nannie McMillan Padgett. He was a retired custodian from Andrew Jackson Academy and was a lifetime farmer. He was a United States Navy veteran and was a member of the Carters Ford Baptist Church. Surviving are: his wife, May Belle Garvin Padgett; two daughters, Barbara Ann Walling of Walterboro and Mary Ellen White of Beaufort; two grandsons, Shannon Woods of Walterboro and Steven Willis of Branchville; three sisters: Sallie Herndon of Walterboro, Leonie Royal of Charleston, and Helen Leiato of Loreano Valley, CA; and a brother, Willie Padgett of Ridgeland. WALTERBORO - Mr. Benjamin LeRoy Risher, 85, of 3778 Mt. Carmel Road, died Tuesday at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 6, in the Chapel of Brice W. Mr. Risher was born May 18, 1917 in Colleton County and was a son of the late Ira L. and Donnie Langdale Risher. He was a retired truck driver from Walterboro Dress Corp. He was the widower of Clara Mahaffey Risher. He was a member of Evergreen Christian Church where he served as a deacon and was a church trustee. He also attended Bedon Baptist Church. He was a US Navy Veteran and was employed by Brantley Construction Company of Charleston, SC. David is survived by his parents; his cat, Harley and many relatives and friends. EVANS, Mae
Entered into eternal rest on the night of December 3, 2002, Mrs. Mae OHara Evans, at a local Residential Care Home, in Charleston. Mrs. Evans was born in Schenectady, New York, on June 6, 1929. As an adult, she was united in matrimony to the late Bill Evans. To this union a daughter, Shelia was born. In 1986, she moved to Charleston. Shortly after her arrival, she became acquainted with Mrs. Linda Ketner, who became a very close friend of hers. In May of 1993, Mrs. Evans became a resident at Randolphs Residential Care Home, Inc. While residing at the Facility, she became very close to the owner, Mrs. Kellerceal Randolph Wragg, her children and grandchildren. She was adopted as one of their family members. Those that she leaves to remember her life include her devoted friend, Mrs. Linda Ketner, Mrs. Kellerceal Randolph Wragg, children and grandchildren, the residents, the administrative staff, and caregivers of the facility, as well as many friends throughout the community, including the King Street merchants who befriended her. Annie Mildred Dew Goodyear of Moncks Corner, died Wednesday, December 4, 2002, in Charleston, S.C. Mrs. Goodyear, daughter of James Leon Dew and Annie Sarepta Hayes Dew, was born December 5, 1914, in the Temperance Hill Section of Marion County and was graduated from Dillon High School, Dillon, S.C., and from the Mullins School of Nursing where she trained to be a Registered Nurse. She worked in St. Eugene Hospital in Dillon, S.C., Berkeley County Hospital in Moncks Corner, and in hospitals in Lancaster and Conway, S.C., among others. She was active as a Brownie Scout Troop Leader, Cub Scout Troop Leader and a faithful member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Theresa Turner Sunday School Class and the Seavy Carroll Circle until recent declining health. Mrs. Goodyear was the devoted wife of Cecil P. Goodyear, son of Sidney Walter Goodyear and Hettie Florence Hayes Goodyear. She was the loving mother of her son James Cecil Goodyear of Summerville, and daughters, Ann G. Smith of Moncks Corner, and Elizabeth Betty G. Schaffer of Charleston. She was the sister of James Leon Dew and Frances Edith Dew Martin of Mullins, S.C., Richard Willis Dew of Darlington, S.C., Lily Ella Dew Ranson of Andrews, S.C., Walter Wilson Dew of Easley, S.C., and William Jennings Dew of Loris, N.C. She is survived by her son-in-law, James F. Schaffer, her sister, Grace Dew Nichols of Charlotte, N.C., and her brother, the Reverend Benjamin J. Bass of Latta, S.C. She is the grandmother of W. Ray Vincent Anderson, Jr., 72, of North Charleston, died Monday, December 2, 2002, at a local hospital. A service will be held Friday, December 6, 2002, 11 a.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Born December 27, 1930, in Charleston County. He was the son of the late Ray Vinson Anderson, Sr., and Mary Louise Rivers Hallman. Mr. Anderson was a residential contractor. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, having received a Purple Heart Medal, the United States Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with five bronze service stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Midway Baptist Church. Survivors include, his wife Barbara Ann Huggins Anderson of North Charleston; a daughter, Marcella Putney of Texas, two sons, Larry L. Anderson, Summerville, Vincent Ray Anderson of North Charleston, one sister, Diane Scarborough, of Cottageville, two brothers, Dutch L. Binnarr and David D. Binnarr, both of Summerville. Fifteen grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Anderson was predeceased by two daughters, Rose Medlin, and Wanda R.
