ANDERSON, JR., Ray
Ray Vinson Anderson, Jr., 72, of North Charleston, died Monday, December 2, 2002, at a local hospital.
A service will be held Friday, December 6, 2002, 11 a.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, burial to follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
Born December 27, 1930, in Charleston County. He was the son of the late Ray Vinson Anderson, Sr., and Mary Louise Rivers Hallman.
Mr. Anderson was a residential contractor. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, having received a Purple Heart Medal, the United States Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with five bronze service stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Midway Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his wife Barbara Ann Huggins Anderson of North Charleston; a daughter, Marcella Putney of Texas, two sons, Larry L. Anderson, Summerville, Vincent Ray Anderson of North Charleston, one sister, Diane Scarborough, of Cottageville, two brothers, Dutch L. Binnarr and David D. Binnarr, both of Summerville. Fifteen grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Anderson was predeceased by two daughters, Rose Medlin, and Wanda R. Sellars, three sisters, Shirley, Estell and Grace, three brothers, Frank, Tommy and Marion two great-grandchildren, Ethan Ariel.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 5, 2002, 6 to 8 p.m., at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, S.C. 29406.

BUCKNER, Rebecca
STANDARDSVILLE, VA. - Rebecca Leigh Buckner, 16, of 176 Fairlane Drive, died Monday, December 2, at Memorial Mission Hospital. She attended William Monroe High School and Spring Hill Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Mark and Mary Francese Buckner. Also surviving is brother Jon Powell Buckner of the home and the paternal grandparents Jon and Oval Buckner of Candler. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joseph J. and Mattie Leigh Francese.
Funeral services will be held, 2 p.m., Thursday, December 5, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, 7626 Highway 213, Mars Hill, N.C. Pallbearers are Brian Ramsey, Ray Carter, Arnold Dean, Joseph Tallon, Thomas Fuber, and John Francese. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, and one hour prior to the funeral services, at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Jon and Oval Buckner, 24 Old Asbury Road, Candler.

CRAIG, Alan
Mr. Alan Stevens Craig, 57, of 305 Clark Ave., in Estill, died Monday night at his residence in Estill after an extended illness.
Mr. Craig was born in Brooklin, N.Y., November 24, 1945, a son of Martha Eleanor Campbell Craig and the late Paul Cecil Craig. He was a graduate of Northern Illinois University, in DeKalb, Ill., and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Teacher at Patrick Henry Academy near Estill, and was a Continuing Education Teacher at the Federal Correctional Institution in Estill, and was a Volleyball, Tennis and Basketball Coach at the Abundant Life Christian Academy in Hardeeville. He was also an artist, a Deacon of the Lawtonville Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher.
Surviving besides his mother of Asheville, N.C., are: one brother, Dave Craig of Asheville, N.C. He was pre-deceased in death by a sister, Barbara Hope Craig.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Thursday, in the Lawtonville Baptist Church in Estill conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jamie Norris, with burial in the Lawtonville cemetery, directed by the Estill Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME.
Friends may call at the Chapel in Estill, located at 159 Clarke Ave., in Estill, from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, and Thursday until 2 p.m. when the casket will be placed in the church prior to services.

FAULK, JR., David
Mr. David Faulk, Jr., 72, died Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at his residence after an illness.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 5 in Rose Hill cemetery. The services will be directed by SMITH-COLLINS FUNERAL HOME.
Mr. Faulk was born February 14, 1930 in Marion County, a son of the late David Nelson Faulk and the late Buno Elliott Faulk. Mr. Faulk had retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as an electrical engineer. He was a US Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post #5. Mr. Faulk was a graduate of William & Mary University.
Surviving Mr. Faulk are: a brother, Stacy Faulk of Marion; three sisters: Nelson Fowler of Marion, Mary McMillan of Marion and Rebecca Thomas Graham of Marion; a sister in law, Linda Faulk of Wilmington, NC; and a special friend, Jennie Richardson of Marion.

BENNETT, George
George Francis Bennett, 81, of Meggett, a retired farmer, died Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at his residence. He was born on Saturday, November 5, 1921 in Meggett, SC, a son of Jackson Eugene and Ellen Agnes Dunne Bennett. He attended Meggett Grammar School and graduated from St. Paul's High School. Mr. Bennett honorably served his country in the US Navy and was a veteran of WWII. He is survived by his sister, Ellen Bennett Anderson and beloved brother in law, Ellison Capers Anderson of Hollywood; two nephews, John D. Bennett, Sr. of Adams Run and Rhett E. Anderson of Hollywood; two nieces, Minta Mueller of Fayetteville, GA and Cynthia Sires of Yonges Island. The relatives and friends of Mr. George F.
