Beatrice Rae, formerly of Essex, CT died Sunday, December 1, at Fairview Nursing Home in Groton. She is survived by daughters, Beatrice Love of Isle of Palms, Patricia Packard of Waterford, CT, Michele Rae of San Jose, CA, their husbands, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Church Old Lyme, Burial at Holyhood cemetery, Brookline, MA on Dec. 9th.

KUMMET, Marvin
Marvin L. Kummet, 69, of Goose Creek, SC, died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at a hospital in Charleston. He retired from the United States Navy with 26 years as a Warrant Officer #4. He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to the late Harry and Grace Qinn Kummet. He was a member of the Palmetto Gun Club. He will be sadly missed by his wife Helen Rest Kummet, two brothers, Richard and wife JoAnn Kummet of Chippaw, Wisconsin, Donald Kummet of Eau Claire, WI; three sisters, Barbara and husband El Swanson of Eau Claire, WI, June and husband Chuck Leftwich of Little Rock, Arkansas, Patricia and husband Albert Woody of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and many wonderful friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at the Good Shepherd Chapel on the Naval Weapons Station. A burial at sea with Military Honors will be held at a later date. Harold Ray Roberson, 63, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Sunday, December 1, 2002 in Charleston, SC. Born February 9, 1939 in Falkner, MS, he was the son of the late Johnny Burton Roberson and Lettie McDowell Roberson. A former resident of Burnsville, NC, he was an active volunteer with the United Way, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Mental Health Assoc. and the Lions Club. Mr. Roberson was self-employed in sales but was most recently employed by Piggly Wiggly. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Donna Rae Roberson of Moncks Corner; three sons: Harold Ray Roberson, Jr. of Broken Arrow, OK, Michael Sullivan of Moncks Corner, SC, Chris Sullivan of Goose Creek, SC; three daughters: Cheryl Bailey of Collierville, TN, Sharon Miller of St. Matthews, SC, Debbie Holton of Gilbert, SC; one brother, Norman Roberson of Tiplersville, MS; seven sisters: Rema Nance of Lakeland, TN, Doris Nelson of San Diego, CA, Jean Maddox of New Albany, MS, Linda Jackson of Jonesboro, AR, Patsy Nobles of New Albany, MS, Betty Roberson of Memphis, TN, Gere Roberson of Memphis, TN; mother in law, Winnie Mullins and 13 grandchildren. Kevin L. Schattner, Sr., 55, of Ladson, SC, died Saturday, November 30, 2002 at a local hospital.

Mr. Schattner was born on June 29, 1947 in Buffalo, New York, a son of Marie Reiter Angelo. He worked in various law enforcement positions for over 30 years. He was a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church and was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving 2 tours.
Survivors include his wife, Judy McCarter Schattner of Ladson; his mother, Marie Angelo of Ladson; daughter, Katherine Klaibel, and her husband, Robert, of Summerville; three grandsons: Sean Schattner, Robert Klaibel, Jr., and Trevor Klaibel, all of Summerville. Mr. Schattner was preceded in death by his son, Kevin L. Schattner, Jr.
