ROBLES, Maria
Maria Magdelena Robles, 52, of Cottageville, S.C., wife of Juan Avila Robles, died Sunday, December 1, 2002, at her residence. Mrs. Robles was born Thursday, May 25, 1950, in Havana, Cuba, the daughter of Aniceto Luis Rodrigez and Marta Blanco Blanco. She immigrated to the United States when she was 14 years old, in 1964. Ms. Robles was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross and also in the Hispanic community. She was a loving and compassionate person who will be deeply missed. Mrs. Robles is survived by her husband of 17 years, Juan Avila Rodrigez, a son, Dennis and his wife Jenifer McDill, a daughter, Monica McDill, two grandchildren; Ryan and Reid McDill and two sisters; Claira Taylor and Martha Castell. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Robles are invited to attend her Memorial Mass, 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Committal Service will be private. LEWIS, Henrietta
Funeral services for Henrietta Miles Lewis, 85, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. Father Ted Duvall will officiate with burial in Magnolia cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, December 4, 2002, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Lewis died Sunday, December 1, 2002. Born in Charleston, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Samuel Pickens and Henrietta Gaillard Miles.
Mrs. Lewis and her husband enjoyed attending St. John's Episcopal Church, Shandon, as well as worshiping at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Still Hopes. At St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Hartsville, S.C., she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, serving on the Alter Guild, and assisting the church treasurer for many years. A graduate of Winthrop College in 1938, she taught at Hartsville High School for several years. She later served as Secretary to the President of Coker College, Dr. C. Sylvester Green, and Secretary of the Byerly Hospital Board. She served with the Red Cross as Blood Volunteer Chairman, and at Still Hopes she regularly served as the gift shop volunteer.
Surviving are her husband, Walter K. Lewis, Jr., of West Columbia, S.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, W. Keys and Eve Lewis of Greenville, S.C., Allen M. and Kay Lewis of Hartsville, S.C.; sister, Elizabeth M. Simons; sister-in-law, Elizabeth B. Miles; granddaughters and spouse, Karen Lewis Sheehy, Diane P. Lewis, Elizabeth Reid and Mike Butler, Rebecca Hanahan and Steve Erwin, Virginia H. and Bernie Horton; grandsons, William B. Duncan, Jr., Paul L. Miller; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel Miles and Jeremiah Miles.
GALLUP, David
GEORGETOWN - David Bruce Gallup, 51, died Monday, December 2, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Gallup was born in Columbia on January 24, 1951, a son of Marie Reed Kase Gallup and the late John Aitken Gallup. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Gallup was the manager of Rice Hope Plantation. He was a communicant of St. James, Santee, Episcopal Church in McClellanville. Mr. Gallup was active in a number of wildlife organizations and a member of the Winyah Indigo Society.
Surviving are: his wife, Carol Candy K. Gallup of Georgetown; four sons, Brian Cameron Gallup and his wife Debra of Columbia, Clay Kinross Gallup of Georgetown, and Bruce Reed Gallup and Mark Eaton Gallup, both of Pawley’s Island; his mother of Chapin; two brothers, Richard B. Gallup of Chapin and John A. Gallup, Jr. of Pawley’s Island; and a sister, Sandra G. DeCastro of Moratock, N.C.
Memorial services will be on Wednesday afternoon, December 4, 2002, at four o’clock at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Paul C. Fuener.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 3, 2002, from six until eight at the GEORGETOWN CHAPEL OF MAYER FUNERAL HOME.

PATTERSON, Dolly
Dolly J. Patterson, 86, of Charleston entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 26th. She was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Lamb Patterson. She was a retired department manager, avid reader, enjoyed participating in travel outings with the Senior Citizens of Charleston, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her son, Boyce S. Patterson, predeceased her. Surviving Mrs. Patterson are her two daughters, Jane Hale of Charleston and Beth Vause of Charleston, SC. Also she leaves four grandchildren, David and Jennifer Vause of Charlotte, and Lisa and Sarah Hale of Charleston; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Zoe Vause of Charlotte; one brother, George Jefferson of Columbia, several nieces and nephews, and many Charleston friends. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, December 3rd at MCALISTER-SMITH DOWNTOWN CHAPEL with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. DILLINGHAM, Larry
Carlos Larry Dillingham, 68, of Moncks Corner, a retired storekeeper with the U.S. Navy and a retired building construction boiler maker, died Friday at a Virginia Beach, Va., hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL. Burial will be private.
Mr. Dillingham was born March 26, 1934, in Dillingham, N.C., a son of Carlos E. Dillingham and Elma Cross Dillingham. He was a Presbyterian. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Gaskins Dillingham of Moncks Corner; four daughters, Eileen McCrickard of Charlotte, N.C.; Laura Ann Rubin of Atlanta, Ga.; Theresa Victoria Brian of Virginia Beach, Va.; Debbie Dawson of Boise, Ohio; two brothers, Milton Dillingham of Greensboro, N.C.; David Dillingham of Zebulon, N.C.; sister, Sandra D.
