MUNDELL, SR., LeRoy
LeRoy L. "Lee" Mundell, Sr., 71, of 8731 Highway 176, Pomaria, died Thursday, November 28, 2002, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.
Born in Carney's Point, N.J., he was a son of the late Mildford Lamont and Hazel Bryerton Mundell. Mr. Mundell was a Korean War U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a retired employee of Foremost McKesson. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, a member of Penns Grove Masonic Lodge #54.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel "Smiley" Beckham Mundell; sons, Roy L. Mundell, Jr., of Walterboro and Jeffrey L. Mundell of Prosperity; a daughter, Jeanne M. Dickert of Pomaria; nine grandchildren, Jessica Dickert, Caleb Mundell, Will Dickert, Josh Mundell, Lehe Ruegner, Hannah Ruegner, Hailey Mundell, Anya Mundell and Devin Mundell.
Memorial services were held Sunday, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Amick conducting the service.

HUTSON, JR., Gene
Beloved husband and father, Samuel "Gene" Eugene Hutson, Jr., 71, of Summerville, S.C., died Saturday, November 30, 2002, at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church, Tuesday morning, December 3, 2002, at 11 o'clock. Burial will be held in Boone Hill United Methodist Church cemetery. Friends may call at PARKS FUNERAL HOME, SUMMERVILLE, S.C., this Monday evening from 6 to 8 o'clock.

Born September 16, 1931, he was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Eugene Hutson, Sr., of Summerville. Mr. Hutson served in the U.S. Navy and the Korean War, being honorably discharged in 1954. He retired from Charleston Supply Co. in 1996 after working there 28 years. Most recently, he was known and loved as the "Meeter Greeter" for WalMart off Dorchester Road. When not handing out smiley face stickers to the young customers at WalMart, he enjoyed listening to his classical music recordings or gardening in the yard, which he loved.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eleanor Glenn Hutson of Summerville; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Brian Scott of Rock Hill, S.C.; his daughter and son-in-law, Daphne and John Poore of Simpsonville, S.C.; two grandchildren, Abby and Layton Poore, both of Simpsonville; and his two sisters, Mary Frances Rowe and Marjorie Muckenfuss, both of Summerville.

WALTERBORO - Michael Dean Gunnoe, Sr., 50, husband of Wanda Gunnoe, died Saturday at his residence.

Mr. Gunnoe was born May 19, 1952, in Van, W.Va., a son of the late Darrell Gunnoe and Sybil Jean Long Gunnoe. He served in the Marine Corps and was a retired machinist.
Surviving besides his wife, are, a son, Michael Dean Gunnoe, Jr., of Walterboro, two daughters, Kerry Gunnoe-Little of Ladson, and Tammy Lunete Bell of Walterboro, a brother, Ernest Lee Gunnoe of Middlefield, Ohio, a sister, Betty Jean Gates of Phoenix, Ariz., and five grandchildren.

VEYBER, Alexander

Mr. Veyber was born May 29, 1933, in Chitomir, Ukraine, son of Yosif and Bluma Baytler Veyber. He was a painter and a member of Synagogue Emanu-El.
He is survived by his wife and son, Mikhail Veyber, both of Charleston, S.C.
