India Nadine Boyd Hendricks, 86, of Beaufort, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the home of her daughter, Carol H. Waters, 310 New Street.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at The Baptist Church of Beaufort with burial in church yard.
Mrs. Hendricks was born March 17, 1916, in Williston, a daughter of Nathaniel Powell Boyd and Eula Lee Cook Boyd. She lived in Beaufort for 62 years. She owned and operated with her late husband, Carl C. Hendricks, the Hendricks Furniture Company and Hendricks Real Estate. She was a member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort, Faith Sunday school class, Golden Voices choir and the Auxiliary of the Gideons Society.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol H. Waters of Beaufort; two sons, Carl C. Hendricks Jr. and William P. Hendricks of Beaufort; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to The Gideons Society, c/o The Gideons International, 2900 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN 37214.

Richard H. "Dick" Moore
Richard H. "Dick" Moore, 91, died Tuesday, April 23, at Hilton Head Medical Center and Clinics.
He was born March 13, 1911, in Nelson, Neb., and was the son of the late Col. William K. Moore and Lucy Hanthorn Moore.
He was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor of arts and master's in business administration.
He served in the Michigan National Guard and the Army from 1930 to 1963. He was a graduate of and a member of the staff and faculty of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and a graduate of the Army War College. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and the Legion of Merit.
In 1963, he joined American University as director of the Cultural Information Analysis Center and The Foreign Area Studies Organization. He retired from the university in 1977 and moved to Hilton Head Island.
He was a member of St. Andrew By-the-Sea United Methodist Church. He served as a member and president of the Baynard Property Owners Association, and was a member of the Flotilla 10-11 Coast Guard Auxiliary, Sea Pines Club and Yacht Club of Hilton Head. He was a past member and president of the regime board and board of trustees at The Seabrook.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geraldine K. Moore; a daughter, Barbara Moore Burnett of Fredericksburg, Va.; two sons, Richard Kinney Moore of Lewiston, Idaho, and William Kern Moore of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; seven grandsons; and nine great-grandchildren.
Private interment will be at Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors.
A reception will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at The Seabrook.

Robert E. Faught
Robert Edward Faught, 80, of Hilton Head Island died Tuesday, April 23, at his home.
He was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Harry and Irene Sweeney Faught.
He moved to Hilton Head Island in 1979 from Montvale, N.J.
He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he was the captain of the tennis team and was awarded All-American honors as center on the basketball team.
He served the Navy in the Pacific theater at the rank of ensign. He later played professional basketball with the Cleveland Rebels of the National Basketball Association.
Mr. Faught spent 30 years as an executive with the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co., and was a member of the Port Royal Club, Notre Dame Club of Hilton Head Island, and was a Eucharistic minister at St. Francis By the Sea Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Stella Keating Faught; three sons, Robert K. Faught of Alpharetta, Ga., James J. Faught of Wilmette, Ill., and Thomas P. Faught of Tallahassee, Fla.; and eight grandchildren, Connor, Caroline, Elizabeth, Emily, Michael, Katie, Joseph and Aaron.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Island Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Francis By the Sea Catholic Church, with the Revs. Michael McCafferty and James Geiger officiating. Internment will be in St. Francis Columbarium.
Memorials may be made to St. Francis By the Sea Catholic Church, 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926.

George Homer Bales
George Homer Bales, 75, of Beaufort, died Sunday, April 21, 2002, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be Monday at Green Funeral Home, Munhall, Pa., with burial in Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg, Pa.
Mr. Bales was born May 11, 1926, in Pittsburgh, a son of Leonard Bales and Anna Parson Bales. He was a retired steelworker with U.S. Steel and member of the United Steelworkers Union. He also belonged to the Mifflin Social Club, the Champion Lakes Golf Club and the Sons of St. George Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Episcopalian faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Pavlik Bales.
Survivors include his sister, Beverly Bidwell of Fripp Island.
