Ms. Lillie Estelle Dixon
Sep 12, 1920 - Oct 23, 2014

Mother Lillie Estelle Dixon was born on September 12, 1920 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Joseph H. Dixon and the late Mrs. Estelle Thompson Dixon. Lillie was the mother to Fredrick Dixon and Roger Craig Wilson.

In 1928 Mother Lillie's family moved to Decatur, Georgia, where she became a member of Antioch A.M. E. Church. Lillie attended Herring Street Public School in Decatur, Georgia, where she earned and received her high school diploma. At the age of 27, Lillie moved to Hartford, Connecticut. After moving to Hartford, she became a member of Phillips C.M.E. Church under the pastoral care of Reverend John W. Nance. During her membership at Phillips C.M.E. Church, Lillie served as the church pianist, stewardess and other auxiliaries.

Mother Lillie worked for many years in Connecticut as a clerk typist for Aetna Insurance Company. Lillie also was a seamstress. She loved playing the piano, cooking, gardening and also doing puzzles.

After residing in Connecticut for several years she returned to Columbia, South Carolina. There she became a faithful member of Community C. M. E. Church. She again served as the church pianist, stewardess and missionary. While at Community she was honored with the distinguished title of Church Mother. She was also a member of the Jessie Brown prayer group.

Mother Lillie loved her home, Columbia, South Carolina and will always be remembered for her servant's heart: humble, loving, sweet, patient, and peaceful.

After becoming the last living sibling of ten live births to her parents, Lillie became Queen Mom for all of her nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Mrs. Annie Louise Bazemore
Sep 21, 1924 - Dec 22, 2014

Annie was born on September 21, 1924 in Monticello, Florida. She moved to White Plains, New York and then to Yonkers, New York where she was raised. She was a tall beautiful young woman and was caught by the eye of Clyde Bazemore, who was a good looking guy. A bond was formed and they were married on August 22, 1946. Their bond lasted for forty years to be only ended by the death of her husband Clyde. Their bond was blessed with three children, Diana, Kelvin and Debra.

Annie worked in a number of establishments of which she was very proud. She once worked on the assembly line making airplanes during the Korean War and her daughter-in-law would tease her by calling her “Rosie the Riveter" which always brought a smile to her face.

As time went on, she learned about God whose name is Jehovah and dedicated her life to serving Him. On October 12, 1964, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and became part of Central Yonkers congregation. She was in the Yonkers' congregation and lived to see the expansion of many congregations from it. She loved doing street work, walking around talking to people about God's kingdom. Annie touched the lives of many people who came in contact with her. She was very generous and loving. She opened up her home for Bible studies and for field service arrangements. She also allowed friends who traveled from other countries and Bethel brothers to stay with her so they would not have to travel so far. Her favorite scripture was II Timothy 3:1-5. When people asked 'why is there is so much bad in the world,' she would use that scripture to explain the world's conditions. As a witness of Jehovah, she firmly believed in many Bible truths and one was the resurrection hope. She maintained her loyalty and dedication to the very end.

Many here may remember her love for knitting and crocheting. Some of you may have a dish cloth she made.

Annie is survived by her children, Diana L. Washington, Kelvin and his wife Patricia Bazemore, Debra McLeod; a sister, Melvina Scott; grandchildren, Dana Washington, Le'ana M. Bazemore, Jennifer L. Bazemore, Suzanne M. Bazemore-Collins and her husband Omar Collins; Kyle Bazemore and his wife Alicia Bazemore; Eric McLeod, Brandi McLeod-Hawthrone and her husband Akil Hawthrone; great-grandchildren, Jadyn Washington, Mia Collins, Imani Collins, Amir Hawthrone; and host of family and friends.

Our beloved Mom, Grandma Lousie, Lou Lou, Weezie you will surely be missed.
