CHESTERFIELD - Mr. James M. Brigman, age 51, died Friday, October 3, 2014, at his home.
Visitation and gathering to remember and celebrate James’ Life were held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mr. Brigman was born November 9, 1962 in Chesterfield, SC, a son of the late Edgar Millard and Margaret Lucile Campbell Brigman. He was a 1981 graduate of Chesterfield High School and received his bachelor degree in Business from USC in Columbia, SC. James was a HVAC technician and a joint owner of Brigman’s Heating and Air. James enjoyed fishing, farming, and raising cows.
Survivors include Wife: Jonie Robertson Brigman of the home; Son: Richie Price of Jefferson, SC; Daughter: Jenell (Jamie) Miles of Chesterfield, SC; Grandson: James Lucas Miles; 4 Brothers: David (Jerry) Brigman and Robert (Delores) Brigman both of Chesterfield, SC, Charles (Cindi) Brigman of Cheraw, SC, and John (Susan) Brigman of Owasso, OK; Sister: Linda (Barney) Abernathy of Chesterfield, SC; Also Nieces and Nephews.

Gerald Lee James
PATRICK - Gerald Lee James, 71, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Born in Chesterfield, SC he was a son of the late Newome and Coralee Pittman James. He was retired from Burlington Industries.
Surviving is his wife, Sara Boan James of Patrick, SC, a brother, William James of Chesterfield, SC, a sister, Sylvia James of Chesterfield, SC, sister-in-law Bonnie (Lavern) Tolson of Patrick, SC, niece, Jill (Brandon Edwards of Patrick, SC, nephew, Eric (April) Tolson of Patrick, SC, great nephews, Ace Tolson and Parker Tolson of Patrick, SC.
The family received friends at 323 Hunts Mill Road, Patrick, SC.
The family had a private funeral service.
Virginia K. Johns
WALLACE - Mrs. Virginia K. Johns, age 85, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her home.
A funeral service was held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC. Interment followed in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC.
Mrs. Johns was born February 22, 1929 in Cocoa, FL a daughter of the late Orland Wayne and Esther Marie Olsen Kline. She was retired employee of American Stainless with 18 years of service. Mrs. Johns was a charter member of Grace Methodist Church of Merritt Island, FL in 1960, and faithfully served as church secretary and Sunday school teacher for many years, and was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Cheraw, SC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her beloved family. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her brother, Robert K. Kline.
Survivors include Husband of 65 years: Ralph E. Johns, Sr. of the home; 2 Sons: Ralph E Johns, Jr. and John David Johns both of Chesterfield, SC; 2 Daughters: Dinah L. (Charles) Funderburk of Cheraw, SC and Jennifer L. (Trent Donathan) Lindsay of St. Paul, AK; 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; Also: Nieces and Nephews.

CHERAW - Mr. Christian Perry Luck, age 16, died Saturday, September 27, 2014.
A memorial service was held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Westside Baptist Church.
Mr. Luck was born September 22, 1998 in Pinehurst, NC, the son of Troy and Dawn Smith Luck. He was a ninth grade student at Chesterfield High School, and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Christian enjoyed playing video games, fishing, and hunting.
Survivors include Parents: Troy and Dawn Smith Luck of the home; Sister: Lanie Luck of the home; Grandparents: Robert and Cynthia Luck, Diane and Kenny Ammons, and Bryant and Peggy Smith all of Cheraw, SC.

CHESTERFIELD - The Reverend Charlie Glenn Dudley, age 80, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his home.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. The family received family and friends immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
Rev. Dudley was born September 2, 1934 in Oates, SC a son of the late Thomas Wilbon and Theo Lafferty Dudley. He attended Erskine College and was a graduate of Coker College and Emory University. Charlie was a retired United Methodist Minister for many years and was always very active in the Youth Programs. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Charlie was also preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Ann Dudley.
Survivors include Wife: Glenda S. Lisenby of the home; 4 Sons: Chuck Dudley of Columbia, SC, Art Dudley of Ware Shoals, SC, Chris Dudley of Missouri, and Jamie (Tiffany) Dudley of Marietta, SC; Stepchildren: Steve Lisenby and Susan L. Sellers of Chesterfield, SC; Grandchildren: Houston Dudley, McKenzie Dudley, Taylor Dudley, J.J. Dudley, Jacob, Tori, and Abby Lisenby, and Betsy and Jesse Sellers; and 3 Sisters: Gloria (Hank) White of Florence, SC, Terry (Jake) Watford of Oates, SC, and Linnie Field of Rifle, CO.

Randall Lee Massey
CHERAW - Randall Lee Massey, 60, son of late, Clifton Massey and Marjorie C. Brigman died Sunday, September 21, 2014. McCollom-Myers Mortuary & Cremation Services have been entrusted with arrangements.
Mr. Massey was born in Covington, KY. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge after several years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Phyllis Gall.
Surviving are his children, Jessica Massey, Leigha Massey, and Randall Massey, Jr.; sisters, Brenda Hayes and Kaye Brigman Rogers; brothers, Jimmy Grissom and Dean Brigman; five grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Fred B. Pate
CHERAW - Mr. Fred B. Pate, age 85, died Sunday, September 21, 2014.
A funeral service was held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at North Cheraw Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was from 11:00 AM to 12:00, Wednesday, prior to the service at the Church.
Mr. Pate was born June 11, 1929 in Cheraw, SC a son of the late James Leonard and Rosa Sweat Pate. He was a retired Police Officer having worked with the Cheraw Police Department and the Bennettsville Police Department. Fred was a retired Security Guard with INA USA. He was a member and former Deacon of North Cheraw Baptist Church. Fred enjoyed working in his yard and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Emily Brock Pate and by his brothers, Frank, W. T. Johnny, Lacy, James “Blondie”, and Nathan Pate, and by his sister, Gertrude Biles.
Survivors include 1 Son: F. Wayne Pate of Patrick, SC; 1 Daughter: Kathy P. (Dwight) Byrd of Lexington, SC; Also 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.

MCBEE - Funeral services for William Leonard Ratliff, Sr. age 82, who passed away September 20, were held Saturday at 3:00 at McBee Baptist Church. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Charlie Short and Rev. Ken Hughes officiated. Burial was in the McBee Cemetery with Masonic Rites, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Mr. Ratliff was born in Cheraw a son of the late Walter David and Bertha Brock Ratliff. He was retired from DuPont, was employed with Seaboard Airline Railroad, member of the McBee Masonic Lodge No. 313 and a member of the McBee Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Christine Blackwell Ratliff, Bethune; one son, William Leonard (Lynn) (Ellice) Ratliff, Tulsa, OK; four daughters, Deborah “Debbie” (Scott) Timms, Hartsville, Monissa Dawn (Dennis) West, Bethune, Tonda Ratliff (Randy) Thomas, Danville, VA and Laura Ratliff (Steven) Lovelace, McBee; five brothers, Jerry Ratliff, Charlotte, Bobby Ratliff, Wallace, Henry Ratliff, Cheraw, Kenneth “Tim” Ratliff, Rockingham, N.C. and Clinton Ratliff, Chesterfield; one sister, Rebecca Sellers, Ruby; 9 grandchildren, Brandy W. Melton, Crystal Earle, Kelly West, Daniel Earle, Hank Ratliff, Hailey Lovelace, Claire Ratliff, Alana Thomas, William “Billy” Lovelace ; three great grandchildren, Kayleigh West, Clara Beth Earle and Kimber Melton. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Seldon Thomas; siblings, Charles Ratliff, Fannie “Pat” Moore. Scott Allen Tubbs
PAGELAND - Scott Allen Tubbs, 51, died Thursday, September 25, 2014. Born in Hot Springs, AR he was a son of Martha (Curt) Schoneboom of Arlington, TX and Jack Forster of Bluffton, SC. He was a retired US Army Veteran. He was a member of NRA. He enjoyed range and target firearm, golf, hunting and four wheeling with his grandsons. He will be missed by his loving family and his dogs Makea and Lexie.
Surviving is his wife, Angela Drew Tubbs of Pageland, SC, daughters, Lisa Drew Sexton of Pageland, SC, Sandra Drew Vargas of Bluffton, SC, grandchildren, Christian Vargas and Brantley Sexton, his parents listed above, a brother John (Leslie) McCall of Anchorage, AK, and a sister, Cynthia Furr of Corinth, TX.
The family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday September 29, 2014 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
