CHESTERFIELD - Mr. Dean Thomas “Tommy” Linton, age 59, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at his home.
Survivors include 2 Sons: Thomas Linton and Jarred Linton both of Chesterfield, SC; Grandson: LaKen Del Linton; Brother: Mickey (Frances) Linton of Jefferson, SC; and Sister: Sandra (Billy Locklear) Gainey of Chesterfield, SC.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield SC is serving the Linton family.
Randall Lee Massey
CHERAW - Randall Lee Massey, 60, son of late, Clifton Massey and Marjorie C. Brigman died Sunday, September 21, 2014. McCollom-Myers Mortuary & Cremation Services have been entrusted with arrangements.
Mr. Massey was born in Covington, KY. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge after several years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Phyllis Gall.
Surviving are his children, Jessica Massey, Leigha Massey, and Randall Massey, Jr.; sisters, Brenda Hayes and Kaye Brigman Rogers; brothers, Jimmy Grissom and Dean Brigman; five grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Fred B. Pate
CHERAW - Mr. Fred B. Pate, age 85, died Sunday, September 21, 2014.
A funeral service was held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at North Cheraw Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was from 11:00 AM to 12:00, Wednesday, prior to the service at the Church.
Mr. Pate was born June 11, 1929 in Cheraw, SC a son of the late James Leonard and Rosa Sweat Pate. He was a retired Police Officer having worked with the Cheraw Police Department and the Bennettsville Police Department. Fred was a retired Security Guard with INA USA. He was a member and former Deacon of North Cheraw Baptist Church. Fred enjoyed working in his yard and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Emily Brock Pate and by his brothers, Frank, W. T. Johnny, Lacy, James “Blondie”, and Nathan Pate, and by his sister, Gertrude Biles.
Survivors include 1 Son: F. Wayne Pate of Patrick, SC; 1 Daughter: Kathy P. (Dwight) Byrd of Lexington, SC; Also 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.

William Leonard Ratliff Sr.
MCBEE - Funeral services for William Leonard Ratliff, Sr. age 82, who passed away September 20, were held Saturday at 3:00 at McBee Baptist Church. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Charlie Short and Rev. Ken Hughes officiated. Burial was in the McBee Cemetery with Masonic Rites, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Mr. Ratliff was born in Cheraw a son of the late Walter David and Bertha Brock Ratliff. He was retired from DuPont, was employed with Seaboard Airline Railroad, member of the McBee Masonic Lodge No. 313 and a member of the McBee Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Christine Blackwell Ratliff, Bethune; one son, William Leonard (Lynn) (Ellice) Ratliff, Tulsa, OK; four daughters, Deborah “Debbie” (Scott) Timms, Hartsville, Monissa Dawn (Dennis) West, Bethune, Tonda Ratliff (Randy) Thomas, Danville, VA and Laura Ratliff (Steven) Lovelace, McBee; five brothers, Jerry Ratliff, Charlotte, Bobby Ratliff, Wallace, Henry Ratliff, Cheraw, Kenneth “Tim” Ratliff, Rockingham, N.C. and Clinton Ratliff, Chesterfield; one sister, Rebecca Sellers, Ruby; 9 grandchildren, Brandy W. Melton, Crystal Earle, Kelly West, Daniel Earle, Hank Ratliff, Hailey Lovelace, Claire Ratliff, Alana Thomas, William “Billy” Lovelace ; three great grandchildren, Kayleigh West, Clara Beth Earle and Kimber Melton. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Seldon Thomas; siblings, Charles Ratliff, Fannie “Pat” Moore. Scott Allen Tubbs
PAGELAND - Scott Allen Tubbs, 51, died Thursday, September 25, 2014. Born in Hot Springs, AR he was a son of Martha (Curt) Schoneboom of Arlington, TX and Jack Forster of Bluffton, SC. He was a retired US Army Veteran. He was a member of NRA. He enjoyed range and target firearm, golf, hunting and four wheeling with his grandsons. He will be missed by his loving family and his dogs Makea and Lexie.
Surviving is his wife, Angela Drew Tubbs of Pageland, SC, daughters, Lisa Drew Sexton of Pageland, SC, Sandra Drew Vargas of Bluffton, SC, grandchildren, Christian Vargas and Brantley Sexton, his parents listed above, a brother John (Leslie) McCall of Anchorage, AK, and a sister, Cynthia Furr of Corinth, TX.
The family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday September 29, 2014 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.

Howard 'Dean' Brown Jr.
CHERAW - Howard “Dean” Brown, Jr. 55, died Monday, September 1, 2014. Born in Darlington, SC he was a son of the late Howard “Buddy” Brown, Sr. and Jaunita Keith Brown. He enjoyed all kinds of music, building things, reading, riding on dirt roads, fishing, college football, and was a World War II history buff. He loved having cookouts with family and friends.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce Ellen Perkins Brown of the home, a son, Howard Kevin Brown of Laurinburg, NC, a daughter, Audrey Ellen Brown of Cheraw, SC, brothers, Ricky Brown of Cheraw, SC, Rodney Brown of Cassatt, a sister, Renee Brown of Hartsville and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, brothers, Tim Brown and Scott Brown.
The family received friends 4:00 PM Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

Mary 'Monkey' Stroud Entzminger
CHESTERFIELD - Ms. Mary “Monkey” Stroud Entzminger, age 70, died Monday, September 15, 2014.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Wednesday September 17, 2014 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
Ms. Entzminger was born April 3, 1944 in Chesterfield, SC, a daughter of the late Ernest Blease and Geneva Isabel Phillips Stroud. In addition to her parents, Monkey was also preceded in death by her son, Sedley King Entzminger III, and by a sister Jerrel Ernestine Stroud.
Surviving, are her loving family, Sedley King Entzminger, Jr., Rosemary E. (Rick) Faile, Jaylin Suther, and Aaron Faile, all of Columbia, SC; Brother: Philip A. “Bo” Stroud of Hartsville, SC;
Sisters: Carolyn S. Marlowe of Gaston, SC, Polly S. (Dempsey) Rivers of Indian Trial, NC, Sandra “Sandy” McMorris of Tobaccoville, NC, Betty Ann Stroud of Columbia, SC, and Beverly S. “Cookie” Russell of Winston-Salem, NC; Also Nieces and Nephews.

PATRICK - Ms. Maxine Johnson Grimm, age 61, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at her home.
A funeral service was held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014 prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Grimm was born June 18, 1953 in Cheraw, SC a daughter of the late Francis Carroll and Loree Virginia Jordan Johnson. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School and was a former restaurant employee, and homemaker. Maxine enjoyed cooking, and was a true people person. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, David Johnson.
Survivors include Special Friend and Companion: Tim McLain of Patrick, SC; Children: Greg Rayfield of Patrick, SC, Charlotte R. Hendrix of Charleston, SC, And their Father: Gerald P. Rayfield of Patrick, SC; 2 Grandchildren: Colbin Hendrix and Hailey Hendrix both of Charleston, SC; Brothers: Henry (Annie Mae) Johnson, and Don M. Johnson both of Cheraw, SC; 2 Sisters: Vondell Turnage of Patrick, SC and Dean Johnson of Cheraw, SC.

Jerry Lee Hinson Sr.
CHERAW - Jerry Lee Hinson, Sr., 79, died Thursday, September 18, 2014. Born in Chesterfield, SC he was a son of the late Henry Bunyan and Joyce Jones Hinson. He was a US Navy Veteran. He was retired from J. P. Stevens (Delta #2) in 1995 (38 years). Mr. Hinson was a member of Cheraw First Baptist.
Surviving is his wife, Eunice Brasington Hinson of Cheraw, SC, sons, Jay (Mary) Hinson of Cheraw, SC, Jeff (Jacki) Hinson of Florence, SC, a daughter, Lynne (Fowler) Laney of Florence, SC, grandchildren, Lee Hinson, Kayla Hinson, Kyle Graham, Hannah Laney, brothers, Richard (Barbara) Hinson of Rock Hill, SC, Ned (Jane) Hinson of Cheraw, SC, and a sister, Dorothy (Ed) Thaggard of Matthews, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above and a sister Patricia Thomas Funderburk.
The family received friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Cheraw First Baptist Family Life Center.
A funeral service was held 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Cheraw First Baptist Church.

Roy Pressley Kirkley
JEFFERSON - Mr. Roy Pressley Kirkley, age 80, of Jefferson, SC, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, while surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice.
Mr. Kirkley was born February 26, 1934, in Jefferson, SC to the late George and Nettie N. Jordan Kirkley. He later united in marriage to Bonnie Donahue. He was a lifetime farmer and owner of Hartsville Lumber and Barns. He was also a member of Rocky Creek Presbyterian Church. He is predeceased by two Sisters, Nancy Kirkley and Betty Sue Kirkley.
Mr. Kirkley is survived by his Wife, Bonnie Donahue Kirkley of the home; Sons, Scott Kirkley (Jill) of Jefferson, SC and Neal Kirkley of Jefferson, SC; Brother, Melvin Kirkley of Pageland, SC; Grandchildren, Hannah Kirkley, Connor Kirkley, Clark Kirkley, all of Jefferson, SC, Bradley Kirkley of Morganton, NC and Greta Moree of Pageland, SC and seven Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Rocky Creek Presbyterian Church in Jefferson, SC with Pastor Rodney Kirkley and Pastor Farrar Griggs officiating. Entombment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland Mausoleum.
The family received friends at Mr. Kirkley’s home on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Rocky Creek Presbyterian Church, 1357 Johnson Rd, Jefferson, SC 29718.

Luther William Jordan
PATRICK - Mr. Luther William Jordan, age 70, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at his home.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 12, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, Chesterfield, SC. Interment will follow in Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Jordan was born July 5, 1944 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Willis Johnston Jordan and Aline Boan Jordan. He was a retired field foreman and mechanic with Tenner Brothers Winery, and was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Luther enjoyed fishing, mechanic work, gardening, and riding his tractor. In addition to his parents, Luther was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Wayne Jordan and by his sister, Shelby J. Ussery.
Survivors include Wife: Daisy Lee Hodge Jordan of the home; 4 Sons: Luther Darrell Jordan of Cheraw, SC, William (Crystal) Jordan of Patrick, SC, Perry Dean Jordan of Kershaw, SC, and Richard (Kim) Jordan of Patrick, SC; 5 Grandchildren: William Jordan, Jr., Melissa (Harvey) Griggs, Jonathan Jordan, Blake (Rose) Jordan, Matthew Jordan; 2 Brothers: Bobby Jordan of Patrick, SC and Howard Jordan of Columbia, SC; ALSO: Nieces and Nephews.
