Bobby Ray Lear

CHERAW – Mr. Bobby Ray Lear, age 72, died Friday, November 28, 2014.

A funeral service was held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Forest Pines Church Cemetery.

Visitation was from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2014 prior to service at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Lear was born December 15, 1941 in Ruby, SC a son of the late Lacy and Mary Geneva Griggs Lear. He was a retired pipe fitter. Bobby was a former member of the SC National Guard and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed mowing grass. In addition to his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jerry Franklin Lear and David Eugene Lear; and by his 2 sisters, Doris Rhynes and Bertie Fay Lee.

Survivors include 3 Brothers: Fred (Debbie) Lear of Wallace, SC, Robert (Carol) Lear of Patrick, SC and Henry Lear of Ruby, SC; Adopted Son: Lee Lear; Adopted Daughter: Tammy Bullock;

Also Nieces and Nephews.

Randolph “Randy” Leviner

CHERAW – Randolph “Randy” Leviner, 66, died Monday, November 24, 2014. Born in Hamlet, NC he was a son of Pauline Leviner and the late Rufus Leviner. He was a member of Cheraw Church of God and served as a lay Minister. He was a licensed Minister with American Marriage Ministries. He had received the Order of the Blue Vase- Liberty Life Insurance Company. He enjoyed golfing, family time, being in church and ministering to the community. He was a Cowboy Fan and an avid Gamecock Fan.

Surviving is his wife, Cathy Norris Leviner of Cheraw, SC, sons, Lance Leviner of Eustis, FL, Rev. Kevin Rummage of Cheraw, SC, daughters, Carol Lynne Leviner of Charleston, SC, Catherine Renee’ Van Derpoel of Frederick, MD, Jill Rummage of Cheraw, SC, his mother listed above, a brother, Benny Leviner of Hamlet, NC, Eight grandchildren and Three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father listed above and brothers, Harold Leviner and Jackson Leviner.

The family received friends 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Cheraw Church of God. A funeral service was held at 11:00 am following the visitation. Burial was at 2:30 PM, Saturday, November 29, 2014 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Dillon, SC.

Richard Paul Noel

CHERAW – Richard Paul Noel, 57, died Monday, November 24, 2014. Born in Haverhill, MA he was a son of Carolyn Chapman Noel Kelley of Cheraw, SC and the late Richard Lee Noel. He was a member of Welsh Neck Baptist Church of Society Hill, SC. He enjoyed being with family and friends, watching TV, dancing, and spending time with his beloved pets.

Surviving is his mother listed above, and a brother, Michael Lee Noel of Cheraw, SC.

He was preceded in death by his father listed above and a brother, Douglas Leo Noel.

The family received friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Welsh Neck Baptist Church, Society Hill, SC.

A memorial service was held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Welsh Neck Baptist Church, Society Hill, SC.

Artlee Truesdale Raley

PAGELAND – Min. Artlee Truesdale Raley, 90 died Thursday, November 27, 2014. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 3, 2014, 1pm at the Pageland Community Center, Pageland, SC. Burial followed in the Tiney Grove Church Cemetery, Pageland, SC. Artlee was born in Kershaw SC August 12, 1924 to Moses and Lottie Mae Truesdale. She was a member of Tiney Grove Apostolic Holiness Church and ministered for over 50 years. Survivors, Rudolph (Mildred) Raley, Jefferson, SC, Evang. Priscilla (Wayne) Covington, Durham, NC and Min. Rebecca (Harold) Seegars of Pageland, SC; 11grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-great-grandchildren. .

Lloyd 'Bud' Rayfield

COLUMBIA – Lloyd “Bud” Rayfield died at Agape Senior Living Center on December 2, 2014 in West Columbia, SC at the age of 86.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Audrey of Agape Senior Living Center, his daughter Cynthia Jeffcoat of Lexington, SC, his two sons, Joel Rayfield of Goodyear, AZ and Terry Rayfield of Haines City, FL, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Lloyd was born on December 27, 1927 in Chesterfield, SC. He graduated from Chesterfield High School. He married the former Audrey Sellers on December 4, 1948. He served 17 years as Superintendent of Bo Buck Mills, Inc. and 20 years as a Supervisor at Chesterfield Webbing.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00AM, December 13, 2014 at Thompson Creek Baptist Church, 3365 Wamble Hill Rd, Chesterfield, SC. Chaplain Joel Rayfield will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lloyd’s life. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Agape Senior Living Foundation, 1624 Main St, Columbia, SC 29201.

Jane Rollins Sullivan

JEFFERSON – Mrs. Jane Rollins Sullivan, 68, of Jefferson, SC went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, while surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Chesterfield County.

Mrs. Sullivan was born August 18, 1946 in Monroe, NC to the late Gertie Lynn and Roy Richard Rollins. She later united in marriage to Mitchell Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan was the Attendance Clerk for Jefferson Elementary and New Heights Middle School for 34 years. She was also a member of Jefferson First Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren and crocheting hats for her granddaughter Ryn. She was an avid Clemson, Indianapolis Colts and Nascar fan. She is predeceased by her Brother, Johnny Rollins and her Sister, June Rollins.

Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her Husband of 49 years, Mitchell Sullivan of the home; Two Sons, Mitch Sullivan and Monte Sullivan (Lynn) all of Jefferson, SC; Daughter, Susan Melton (Larry) of Jefferson, SC; Brother, Honey Rollings (Martha) of Jefferson, SC; Sister, Joy Ingram (Pete) of Moultrie, GA; Eleven Grandchildren, Stoan Christian Sullivan, Slade Sullivan Melton, Hart Alexander Melton, Trace Eliot Melton, Ryn Elizabeth Melton, Zane Michael Rollins, Beau Phillip Rollins, Victoria Lynn Rollins, Hillary Middleton Rollins, Chase Ryan Rollins and Grant Jordan Rollins; Numerous Nieces and Nephews; and her loving Caregivers were Cindy Sullivan and Lisa Todd.

Family members received friends at the home and following the Graveside Service at Jefferson Town Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service was held at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Town Cemetery on Friday, December 5, 2014, with Pastor Rick Hunter and Pastor Carl Ritter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 293, Chesterfield, South Carolina 29709.

Wayne Heyward Tolson

BENNETTSVILLE – Wayne Heyward Tolson, 61, entered into eternal life Thursday, November 27, 2014. Born in Chesterfield, SC he was a son of the late Rev. Jerald and Ellen Tolson. He enjoyed college football and spending time at the ocean with his family.

A consummate family man and man of faith, he will be continually love by his wife Susie Tolson, sons, Chad Tolson, Eric Tolson all of Bennettsville, SC, his brother, Ricky Tolson of Hartsville, SC, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in leaving this world by his parents listed above and his brother, Cecil Tolson.

The family received friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A memorial service was held 3:00 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Living Word Church, Chesterfield, SC.

Robbin Leon Acosta

DENVER, Colorado – Robbin Leon Acosta, son of Mittie Ree Gilmore Acosta and the late Eugene Acosta was born September 2, 1955, Cheraw, South Carolina. Robbin departed this life on November 10, 2014 in Denver, Colorado. He traveled the United States and various parts of the world with his military parents.

Funeral services for Robbin will be held Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 1:30 pm at Paye Funeral Home, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Mother, Mittie Ree Gilmore Acosta, and sister, Monique Acosta of Fayetteville, North Carolina; uncles Bright (Dorothy) Gilmore of Cheraw and Theodore (Verlette) Gilmore of Bladenburg, Maryland, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

J. Herbert Foster

CHERAW – J. Herbert Foster, 84, husband of Mabel Coggins Foster, of 102 Patterson St. died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his home.

Born in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late James J. and Lucy Zimmerman Foster. He was a member of Cheraw First United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War. He was retired as City Executive with Carolina Bank of Cheraw, was former Chairman of the Board of the Chesterfield General Hospital, and a former member of the Chesterfield County Board of Disabilities.

Surviving are his wife of the home, and a son, Jeffrey Lee Foster of the home.

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Friday, November 28th at Cheraw First United Methodist Church with Dr. Kurt McPherson, Rev. Ed Davidson and Rev. David Townsend officiating. A private family burial followed on Saturday.

Deborah 'Debbie' Broome Hall

PAGELAND - Mrs. Deborah “Debbie” Broome Hall, age 60, died Saturday, November 22, 2014.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Croghan, SC.

Visitation was from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hall was born September 17, 1954 in Monroe, NC a daughter of the late Josh and Etta Rummage Broome. She was a 1972 graduate of Forest Hills High School, and a retired office administrator having worked with a manufacturing company and physician’s office. Debbie was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, canning, cooking and going to auctions. Debbie was known for her good biscuits, and was a wonderful caregiver for her parents and in-laws.

Survivors include Sweetheart and Husband of 39 years: Randy Hall of the home; 1 Daughter: Jennifer (Richard) Gaddy of Chesterfield, SC; Grandson: Beauford Gaddy;

Brothers: Rev. Charles (Joyce) Broome of Monroe, NC; 3 Nephews: Scott (Kelly) Broome, Gerry (Tracy) Broome, and Roddy (Tina) Broome; Niece: Pam (Danny) Wright; Also 4 Great Nephews and 4 Great Nieces.

Donnie W. Huckabee

RUBY - Mr. Donnie W. Huckabee, age 64, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation is from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Huckabee was born February 23, 1950 in Mt. Croghan, SC a son of the late Vernon and Julia Pigg Huckabee. He was a retired pipe fitter and owner of Huckabee’s store. Donnie was a true people person who enjoyed talking with his customers at the store, and was an avid sports fan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Huckabee.

Survivors include Wife: Maria A. Huckabee; Son: Matthew (Arielle Williams) Huckabee of Ruby, SC; Daughter: Donna K. (Joseph) Shaw of Chesterfield, SC; Stepson: Eric (Becky) Kuhn of Chesterfield, SC; 7 Grandchildren: Joshua and Kyle Morton, Dalton Burr, Hannah Huckabee, Haley and Gavin Kuhn, and grandchild on the way to be welcomed by Matthew and Arielle; 9 Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Robin Huckabee Davis of Jefferson, SC; 2 Brothers: Billy Joe Huckabee of Phoenix, AZ and Gene Huckabee of Cheraw, SC; Also Special Friend: Wendy Dobbs.

Bennie McCoy

MCBEE - Funeral services for Benjamin Farris "Bennie" McCoy, 71, were held at 3:00 pm Friday, November 28, 2014 at McBee Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Mark Dickinson officiated with burial in McBee Cemetery. The family received friends from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm on Thursday at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.

Mr. McCoy died Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Born in McBee, SC, he was a son of the late Lucious Henry and Vivian McQuage McCoy.

He was a member of the McBee Presbyterian Church and was retired from Dupont with 34 years of service. He was a member of the McBee Rescue Squad for 36 years, Alligator Fire Department for 27 years and the McBee Fire Department. He was a retired assistant coach for the McBee High softball team, spent many years coaching all sports at the McBee Recreation Department, and in 2002 was inducted into the SC Basketball Official's Hall of Fame.

Surviving are his wife, Cherry Griffin McCoy of McBee, SC; sons, Benjy (Joan) McCoy amd Kip (Kim) McCoy of Hartsville, SC; brothers, Leon (Lou Doris) McCoy of McBee, SC, Richard (Dianne) McCoy of Santee, SC, George (Patricia) McCoy of McBee, SC; sisters, Sheryl Mitchell of McBee, SC, Joanne (Bill) Turner of Chapin, SC, Carol Guest of McBee, SC; grandchildren, Amber (Randy) Combs, Nicholas Kruegel, Jordan McCoy, Matthew McCoy; great-grandchildren, Kayla Combs, Josh Combs, Xander Combs.

Charlie Lee Wallace

CHESTERFIELD - Mr. Charlie Lee Wallace, age 67, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the home of his sister.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, S.C.
Mr. Wallace was born December 3, 1946 in Hartsville, SC a son of the late Franklin Taft and Edith Steen Wallace. He was a former textile employee and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Charlie was a member of Free Worship and loved his church. He enjoyed drinking coffee, sitting on his porch, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and always showed his patriotism to his country. In addition to his parents, Charlie was also preceded in death by a son, Ryan Loudenslager; a brother, Robert Wallace; and a sister, Betty Lloyd.

Survivors include 3 Sons: Lee (Meredith) Wallace of Chesterfield, SC, Bubba (Nickie) Wallace of Cheraw, SC and Brian Loudenslager of Texas; 1 Daughter: Amanda Sanders of Wilmington, NC; 1 Stepson: Tripp (Ashley) Bailey of Florence, SC; 3 Grandsons: Dawson, Rylan, and Cody Mac Wallace; 1 Step Grandson: Davin Bailey; 4 Sisters: Diane Snook, Juanita Thompson, and Louise Barr all of Darlington, SC and Cornette Matthews of PA.
