CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Reverend Deborah DuBois, 63, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Funeral service was held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3PM from the Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church, Charlotte, NC. Burial followed in the Love Family Cemetery, Jefferson, South Carolina. She was born September in Rochester, PA to the late Alvin Theodore Heisser Sr. and Reba Carol Love Heisser. Deborah was employed at FiServ (formerly EDS) from January 1985 until she became ill in October 2012. Survivors: children, Christopher DuBois (Nathalie) of Charlotte, NC and Erica DuBois Bridges (Mark) of Matthews, NC. a brother; Alvin Theodore Heisser Jr. (Marian) of Irvine, CA. Six grandchildren, one great grandson.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Keon Ameer McMillian, 2, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 16, 2014 at from the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC. He was born in Greensville, SC. Keon enjoyed reading, coloring, playing at the park, sports, playing with cars and trucks, and he really loved dogs. Survivors: parents, Geneva Branch and Kendric McMillian; grandparents, Kenneth and Shirley McMillian, Dalzell, SC, Leroy Steve Branch and Genevieve Beeks, Greenville, SC; Sharon Dixon, Chesterfield, SC and Mickey Wilson, Cheraw, SC; great grandparents, James and Estelle McMillian, Sumter, SC, Janie Beeks, Fountain Inn, SC and Hollie Dixon, Chesterfield, SC.
Juanita Nivens
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mrs. Juanita Nivens, 40, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Services were held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 4PM from the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC. She was born to Theodis and Ella Porter in Chicago Heights, IL. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois. She was a realtor in Mecklenburg County, NC. Survivors: her husband, Lloyd Nivens III; three children, Tarell Brown, Dominique Ray and Lloyd Nivens IV; two brothers Melvin Porter and Theodis Porter and two sisters, Vera Coswell and Hope Parker.

Lawson Perry Sellers
CHERAW – Mr. Lawson Perry Sellers, age 75, died Thursday, March 12, 2015.
A service of celebration was held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Visitation was from 2:30 – 3:00 PM, Sunday, prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Sellers was born July 14, 1939 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Lonnie Carson and Carrie Jane Hancock Sellers. He was a retired truck driver with ABF Trucking and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Lawson was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member and the Sgt. of Arms of the American Legion Post 74, and a member of the BWZ Men’s Club. In addition to his parents, Lawson was also preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald, David, and Mitchell Sellers.
Survivors include Wife of 48 years: Neatus Roberts Sellers of the home; 2 Daughters: April Sellers (Shawn) Wright of Chesterfield, SC and Ginger Sellers (Ben) Daniel of Florence, SC; 4 Grandchildren: Emma Grace Daniel, Luke Carson Daniel, Lawson William Wright, and Perry Christian Wright; 2 Brothers: Billy Sellers and Glen Sellers of Cheraw, SC; 3 Sisters: Mamie Newton of Cheraw, SC, Margie Ruth Hart of Missouri, and Mary Catherine Meredith of Jamestown, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church “Cemetery Fund” 1016 Tec. Rd. Cheraw, SC 29520.

COLUMBIA – Mrs. Lethia B. Hough Sellers, 75, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 1PM at the Mount Canaan Baptist Church, Jefferson, SC. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery. The daughter of the late Hollis and Arlevia Hough was born in Chesterfield County, SC. She graduated Class of 1958 from the Petersburg High School in Pageland, SC and retired from Place Child Development Center in Brooklyn, NY in 2001. Survivors: David L. Sellers; a son, David Neal Sellers, Esq.; two daughters, Dale Estrada (Ismael) and Dr. Denethia B. Sellers all of Columbia, SC; three granddaughters, Dalisha Estrada of Charlotte, NC, Alexis Estrada of Columbia, SC and Charli Camryn Sellers of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters, Ernestine Cobb of Columbus, GA, Amanda Jackson and Arlevia Brumfield of Brooklyn, NY; one brother, James B. Hough of Pageland, SC. .
Charles V. Tucker
CHERAW – Charles V. Tucker, 76, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Born in Laurel Hill, NC he was a son of the late Johnson Tucker, Sr. and Rosa Lee Walters Tucker. He served in the National Guard. He was retired as an electrician. He enjoyed singing when he woke up in the mornings. He enjoyed fishing, praying, bird watching, reading his Bible and watching world’s funniest video’s.
Surviving is his wife, Patricia Ann Fore Tucker of Cheraw, SC, daughters Sherry (James) Rhea of Cheraw, SC, Melody Adams of Florence, SC, a brother, Johnson (Billie Ann) Tucker, Jr. of Laurinburg, NC, a sister, Virginia Hardee of Wagram, NC, grandchildren, Alexis Nicole Adams and Tara Rhea (Joe) Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above and a sister Helen Barfield.
The family received friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.
A funeral service was held 1:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2015 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. Burial will be in Chatham Hill Memorial.

Nancy Ann Swiatkowski Jacobs
WALLACE - Nancy Ann Swiatkowski Jacobs, 81, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Born in Chicago, IL she was a daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Irene Gertrude Fichter Swiatkowski. She was the widow of Ray Francis Jacobs. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Cheraw, SC. She was a past president of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church Women’s Club. Mrs. Jacobs was retired from (Chesterfield General Hospital) McLeod Health-Cheraw. She had been a Girl Scout Brownie Troop Leader. Mrs. Jacobs had served as an election poll worker and had been vice-president of the Chesterfield Democratic Party. Mrs. Jacobs also served as the Chairman of the Marlboro County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission for numerous years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed crafts, bingo and playing cards.
Surviving is her son, Kenny Jacobs of Cheraw, SC, daughters, Barbara Thompson of Kansas City, MO, Donna Prevatt of Kingsville, MO, Laura Jacobs of Wallace, SC, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mrs. Jacobs is preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, and a sister Eleanor Starkey.

JEFFERSON - Johnnie Lockhart, 88, died on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 1PM from the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Jefferson, SC. Burial followed in the Lockhart cemetery, Jefferson, SC. He was born December 27, 1926, in Jefferson, South Carolina to the late Richard Lockhart and Ollie Miller Lockhart. He was the owner of Lockhart's Dry Cleaning & Alterations in Jefferson, SC. Survivors: a son, Johnnie Lockhart, Jr. (Evelyn), Baltimore, MD; four daughters, Barbara Jean Cheatham (Charles), Jefferson, SC, Angelique Lockhart, Fairfax, VA and Loretta Setzer, Baltimore, MD and Renee Louallen, Bronx, NY; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Flemming Funerals-Pageland was in charge of arrangements.

CHESTERFIELD - Mrs. Sadie Hodge Brown, age 70, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown was born June 18, 1945 in Ruby, SC a daughter of the late Willie B. and Iris Lisenby Hodge. She was a retired assistant manager at Citi Trends. Sadie had attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, and going to the mountains. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Brown, Jr. and a brother, Dorsey Hodge.
Survivors include 1 Son: Tim (Cindy Joplin) Brown of Jefferson, SC; 1 Daughter: Stacie (Johnny) Teal of Chesterfield, SC; 1 Brother: Carroll Hodge of Chesterfield, SC.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd. Suite 100, West Columbia, SC 29169.

Herman O. Evans
CHERAW - Herman O. Evans, 85, of Cheraw, SC passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Chesterfield Convalescent Center.
Mr. Evans was born May 23, 1930 in Newberry, SC to the late John and Mary Agnes Dickert Evans. He graduated from Newberry High School in 1948, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and moved to Cheraw, SC in 1959. He was a former manager at Cheraw Cotton/Yarn Mill and retired from Tultex Yarn, Rockingham, NC in 1985. Mr. Evans was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. He attended Mt. Olivet United Methodist church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and rocking on his front porch. He never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mable J. Evans; Two daughters, Susan K. Evans, Oak Island, NC and Pamela D. Page (John), Gray, TN; Three grandchildren, Paul A. Wallace, IV (Renee), Hartsville, SC; Princeton E. Wallace (Stacey), Oak Island, NC; Anna E. Page (Phil), Knoxville, TN.; 5 great grandchildren; Brett Wallace, Reagan Wallace, Ryan Wallace, Gage Terry, and Jaxson Wallace.
The family received friends Thursday, September 10 from 4-6 p.m. at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC. Funeral services were conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Lynch, pastor of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, officiating.
Graveside Services and Interment were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11 at Chatham Hill MemorialGardens, Cheraw, SC.
Active Pallbearers were Paul A. Wallace IV, Princeton E. Wallace, Dave Redfearn, Wayne Quick, and Max McCormick.

Anne Auman Johnson
SOCIETY HILL - Anne Auman Johnson, 74, of Society Hill died September 9, 2015 at MUSC in Charleston after a brief illness.
Born November 5, 1940 in Society Hill, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Fred Wilton and Sadie Goodson Auman. She graduated from St. John’s High School in 1959 and Coker College in 1963. She was a lifelong educator, serving 30 years as an elementary school teacher. After retiring, Anne enjoyed travelling, home improvement projects, her Wednesday shopping/dining trips to “town”, her Friday “beauty shop” appointments and her chicken salad ministry. She had a great empathy for others and always wanted to be of service to anyone in need.
She was a lifelong and faithful member of Welsh Neck Baptist Church in Society Hill, to which she was very dedicated. She served in various positions in the church and was a true example of a Christian lady. It was a rare occasion that she missed a service and her love for her church was immeasurable.
Mrs. Johnson’s family was what she cherished most in the world. She is survived by her husband, Leon Johnson of the home, her high school sweetheart with whom she just celebrated 50 years of marriage; her daughters Sharon (Orrin) Thomas of Cheraw and Vickie (Chuck) Miller of Society Hill; and the two greatest joys in her life, her granddaughters Anne Kathryne Thomas and Victoria Miller. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wilton Auman.
The family received friends and family on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 at Belk Funeral Home in Darlington.
Funeral services were scheduled for 3:00 on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Welsh Neck Baptist Church with interment to follow at graveside. The Reverends Eric Sloan and Tom Rutan will officiate.

Juanita Sellers Lisenby
RUBY - Juanita Sellers Lisenby died at her home surrounded by loved ones, Wednesday, September 9, 2015 after years of declining health. She was 91.
Juanita was the last surviving child of the late Franklin Dennis and Minnie Tucker Sellers. She graduated from Ruby High School and worked several years during World War II with the rationing board in Kannapolis, NC. After her marriage to Thomas (Tom) Lisenby they moved to Winston-Salem, NC, where she worked in the Trust Department of Wachovia Bank. When Tom was called back into service during the Korean conflict she returned to the “home place” in Ruby, SC where she lived until her death. In 1958 she began working for the Chesterfield county ASCS office from which she retired.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tom, who died in 1971 and brothers Maurice, Dennis, Otis, and J. Pershing Sellers; her half-brothers Walter, Knox, Grover, and Charlie Sellers; her sisters Allie Sellers and best friend and dear sister Rosa Sutton, as well as half-sisters Sue and Myrtle; and her much-loved son-in-law Roger Hecker who died in March of this year.
She is survived by her children Martha Karen Lisenby of Jamestown, NC, Mary Beth Hecker of Fort Lawn, SC and her beloved son Joel Thomas, who lived with her and was her constant companion and care giver. She had one grandchild Caroline Campbell Faulkenberry (Brandon) and two great grand children Elijah and Jacob.
In addition to her family she leaves her life time friend and class mate Dot Welch and class mate Peg Griggs. The family gives special thanks to her caregivers Nezzie Bennett, Mary Reese and Maria Moore who treated her like a queen and whom she loved dearly, as well as Hospice of Chesterfield County.
Visitation was Friday, September 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC. The funeral was held Saturday, September 12 at 11:00 AM at Hopewell Baptist Church, where she had been a life-long member.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 293, Chesterfield, SC 29709, Hopewell Baptist Church Senior Citizens Fund, 15066 Highway 9, Chesterfield, SC 29709 or a charity of one’s choice.

RUBY - Mrs. Linda Faye Edwards Shelton, age 70, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, September 11, 2015.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, September 14, 2015 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. Monday, September 14, 2015 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shelton was born August 7, 1945 in Ruby, SC a daughter of the late Reverend Colie Listern Edwards and Cartha Burr Edwards. She was a graduate of Monroe High School and a retired school cafeteria coordinator. Linda was also a faithful pastor’s wife for years, and was now attending the Ruby Church of God. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, shopping, and talking on the phone. In addition to her parents, Linda was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend R. W. Shelton Sr.; two step sons, Rupert Shelton Jr. and Milton Shelton, and by a brother, Harold Edwards.
Survivors include 2 Stepsons: Lynn Shelton and Tommy Shelton; 2 Stepdaughters: Wanda Parish and Gail Green; 1 Brother: Rev. Tony L. (Carolyn) Edwards of Six Mile, SC; 3 Sisters: Sylvia Pipkin of St. Stephen, SC, Gloria (Rev. Larry) Menzo of Chesterfield, SC, and Jewell (Jerry) Gregory of Ruby, SC; 20 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren, along with many Special Nieces and Nephews; Special Friend: Olin Steen of Mt. Croghan, SC.
