Mrs. Lizzie Shuler Malinder, 99, of 1514 Homestead Road, Orangeburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, following an extended illness.
Funeral plans will be announced by Bethea's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
H.F. 'Fundy' McMillan Sr. -- Bamberg
Graveside services for H.F. "Fundy" McMillan Sr., of 2865 Spider Road, Bamberg, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, in the McMillan Cemetery, Spider Road, Bamberg. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
Mr. McMillan died Monday, Dec. 22, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Mr. McMillan was born Aug. 24, 1934, in Bamberg. He was the son of the late Ernest L. McMillan and Laura Alice Kirkland. He was associated with Colston Branch Baptist Church. Mr. McMillan enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was Past Master of Hope Lodge No. 247 and served in the National Guard unit in Bamberg. He was a farmer and retired from SRS. He was predeceased in death by a son, Harold F. McMillan Jr.; a sister, Lois M. Sanders; and a brother, Terry McMillan.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Ann Priester McMillan; three daughters, Tommie and Kelly Godley, of Colston, Bubba and Libby Murdaugh, of Colston, and Tommy and Terri Ann Bennett of Beaufort; one sister, Alice and Billy Kirkland, of Ulmer; eight grandchildren, Richard and Michael Stanfield, Kirby, Tripp, and Myles Murdaugh, and Zachary Godley, all of Colston and Laura and Maggie Bennett, of Beaufort.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Cooner Funeral Home in Bamberg.
Memorials may be made to the James Butler McMillan Cemetery Fund, c/o Ann McMillan, 2865 Spider Road, Bamberg SC 29003.
Doris N. Hungerpiller -- Orangeburg
Doris Nadine Hungerpiller, 75, of 1217 Dunham Road, Orangeburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.
Funeral plans will be announced by Dukes-Harley Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
Jasper Heyward -- Holly Hill
Mr. Jasper Heyward, 51, of Holly Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at MUSC, Charleston.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, at Greater Target AME Church, Holly Hill, with the Rev. A.J. Blake officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Heyward was born on Oct. 8, 1951, in Holly Hill, a son of Mr. James Heyward Sr. and the late Nora Capers Heyward.
Survivors include a daughter, Shemekia C. Void of Bridgeport, Conn.; his father, Mr. James Heyward of Holly Hill; two grandchildren; three sisters, Cathy (Timothy) Taylor and Dorothy Griffin, both of Johns Island, and Martha Void of Santee; three brothers, John (Betty) Heyward of Bronx, N.Y., James (Lillie) Heyward of Johns Island, and Horace (Carol) Heyward of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a host of aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, relatives and friends.
Eutawville Community Funeral Home of Eutawville is in charge.
James Lee Dash -- Orangeburg
The funeral service for Mr. James Lee Dash, 59, of 142 Laquinta Drive, Orangeburg, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Light House Apostolic Temple Church, 1168 Glover St., Orangeburg, with the Rev. Issac Dash officiating. Burial will be in the Heavenly Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Cordova.
Pallbearers will be Tony Fields, Willie Brailsford, Jesse Jamison, Larry Bonaparte, Jervey Gilyard and Rufus Felder. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Sarah Lee where he worked for 39 years as a supervisor.
The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
Mr. Dash died Sunday at The Regional Medical Center. He was the son of Ms. Wilhelmenia Harvey Dash and the late George Dash. He was born on July 25, 1944, in Orangeburg County. He was a member of Holy Mission of Faith where he served faithfully until his death.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his mother, Mrs. Wilhelmenia Harvey Dash of Columbia; three daughters, Mary (Duffield) Dash Rose of the home, Christine Elaine Dash of Orangeburg, and Margaret Dash of Detroit, Mich.; stepdaughter, Jalayna Flood; three sons, Johnnie Wiley of Orangeburg, Willie Dash of Orangeburg and James Lee Dash Jr. of Columbia; stepson, Herbert Flood; seven sisters, Juanita (Matthew) Taylor, Catherine Osborne, Georgia Patterson, Mary Lou Moseley, Martha Jenning, Mary Sims and Eartha Dash, all of Columbia; four brothers, George Lee (Johnnie Mae) Dash of Philadelphia, Willie James Dash, Pastor Issac (Minnie) Dash and Wilbert Dash, all of Columbia; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Friends may call at the residence of his daughter, Mary Rose, 142 Laquinta Drive, Orangeburg, or at the Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
Visitation will be from 11a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Willie D. Brown -- Columbia
Mr. Willie D. Brown of 46 Horseshoe Road, Lone Star community, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Providence Hospital, Columbia.
Funeral plans will be announced by Jenkins Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
Friends may call at the residence in the Lone Star community and at the funeral home.
Henry Homer Carroll -- Bamberg
Mr. Henry Homer Carroll, 63, of Bamberg, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 14, in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell, with burial in the Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Olar.
Born in Bamberg County, he was the son of the late John Henry and Viola Fail Carroll. He was a self-employed mechanic.
Survivors include three sons, James Marty Carroll and Henry Lee Carroll of Olar, Ernie Franklin Carroll of Bamberg; three daughters, Debbie Fail, Teresa Kinsey, both of Bamberg, and Jane Carroll of Olar; two sisters, Florence Kennedy of Summerville and Rose Gibson of Gray Court; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell.
Maldo Brothers -- Dorchester
Maldo Brothers, 80, of 736 Sandridge Road, Dorchester, husband of Mrs. Ella Mae Summers Brothers, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at his residence after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Nov. 14, at New Hope AME Church, Gum Branch community, St. George, with the Rev. Leroy Middleton officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery directed by Ling Funeral Home, St. George.
Mr. Brothers was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Dorchester County, a son of the late Parker Brothers and Gussie Cobbs Brothers. He attended the public schools of Dorchester County. He was first a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of the Texas community and later moved his membership to the New Home AME Church. He was employed for many years at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until his health failed.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Ella Mae Summers; brothers of Dorchester; four sons, James C. (Emma) Brothers of Harleyville, Aaron Brothers of Charleston, Harry Brothers of Dorchester and Larry Brothers of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Gloria (James) Ferguson of Moncks Corner and Dianne (Johnie) Smith of Daytona; an adopted daughter, Carolyn Street of St. George; three sisters, Coretha Bryant of St. George, Cedell W. (Louis) Calloway of Jamacia, N.Y., and Berneatha (Louis) Britt of Reevesville; one aunt, Mary Lee Cobbs of St. George. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family hour will be held 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at New Hope AME Church, Gum Branch community, St. George.
Ling Funeral Home of St. George is in charge.

John Backmond, of New York, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Frank J. Barone Funeral Home, 4502 Avenue D, Brooklyn, N.Y. Burial will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y.
Viewing will take place Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Miss Daisy Salone -- Columbia
Miss Daisy Salone, 87, of 4110 Highland Park Drive, Columbia, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Providence Hospital, Columbia, after an extended illness.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Shuler-Marshall Funeral Home of Holly Hill.
Larry J. Marchant
HOLLY HILL - Larry James Marchant, 77, of Holly Hill, husband of Annette W. Marchant, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Indian Field United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Stiltz, Rev. Gene Ball, and Rev. Doug Marchant officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:45 before the service in the church fellowship hall.
Larry was a son of the late Fitzu Marchant and Pearline Infinger Marchant. A graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School, he was retired from Jacobs Applied Engineering, and was currently working with the SC Safety Council. Larry was a faithful member of Target UMC and a former member of Indian Field UMC, he was a Sunday School Teacher and served on various church committees at both churches.
Larry was a former member of the Dorchester County School Board Districts 3 & 4, a founding member of the Upper Dorchester County Rescue Squad, former member of the Holly Hill Rescue Squad, a member of Egeria Masonic Lodge #71, and a member of the Fishers of Men.
His passion was helping those in need and he worked tirelessly and vigorously for the residents at Hebron Grace Home in Santee. Larry was a loving and doting husband, father and grandfather who loved life. He lived his Christian beliefs through helping others, showing unmatched compassion and selflessness. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife of Holly Hill; children, Laureen (George) Blakley of North Augusta, Rhonda (Clarence) Johnson of Branchville, Jonathan Todd (Kim) Watkins of Eutawville, and Briana Suzanne Marchant of Holly Hill; sisters, Dicksie (Wallace) Knight of Harleyville, and Netta (Victor) Atkins of St. George; a brother, Donald (Peggy) Marchant of Rosinville; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Marchant of Canadays; grandchildren, Michael Blakley, Matthew Blakley, Nichole Johnson, Andrew Crump, Kaylee Johnson, and Bethany Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Marchant.
The family extends may thanks to Beacon Hospice, Dr. Corynne Boyer and Lori McFadden, R.N.
