Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Cleckley Murphy, 43, of 9401 Wilson Blvd., Lot #98, Columbia, will be at noon, Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, Orangeburg with the Rev. Velma Heyward officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The casket will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Murphy died Saturday, March 6, following a prolonged illness.
She was born August 16, 1960 in Orangeburg County, a daughter of Mary Brown Cleckley and the late Joseph Cleckley. She attended Edisto Schools in Cordova.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Willie Murphy III; three children, Michael Cleckley, Pamela Cleckley, and Kamesha Murphy, all of Columbia; three sisters, Betty Wright, and Mary Alice Guinyard, both of Orangeburg, and Gloria (Morris Fine) Cleckley of Columbia; two brothers, Clyde (Connie) Cleckley of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Rudolph Cleckley of Columbia; four aunts; one uncle; mother-in-law; father-in-law; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Pamela Cleckley, 9401 Wilson Blvd., Lot #98, Columbia and at Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday.
Robert James 'Jimmy' Felder -- Macon, Ga.
Funeral services for Robert James "Jimmy" Felder, 56, of 1509 Cedar Ave., Macon, Ga. will be at 3 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2004, at Glover's Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. John Cokley officiating.
Mr. Felder died Saturday, March 6, at Macon Memorial Hospital, Macon, Ga., following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 23, 1948, in Orangeburg County, a son of the late Rao James and Mattie Lou McClellan Felder. He was a graduate of Wilkinson High School and attended Denmark Technical College. He served in the Air Force and became a certified electrician. Mr. Felder was a former member of the AM-FM Lodge of Florida and attended Shiloh Metropolitan Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur Lee "John" and Rao Latrell Felder, both of Little Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Barbara F. Gamble of Orangeburg, Gussie Felder of Chester, Pa., and Cassandra F. Jackson of Petersburg, Va.; two brothers, Tommie Felder of Orangeburg and Tyrone Felder of Branchville; two brothers-in-law, Willie Gamble Jr. of Orangeburg and Cecil P. Jackson of Petersburg; two uncles, Dr. Leon (Jeanette) Frazier of Huntsville, Ala., and Rufus (Delores) Felder of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two aunts, Louise Carn of Rowesville and Mattie Louise Melvin of Orangeburg; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins; and a very dedicated friend, Carolyn Dalton of Jacksonville, Fla.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willie (Barbara) Gamble Jr., 2693 Old Cameron Road, Orangeburg, and at Glover's Funeral Home, Orangeburg.
Mrs. Willer Dean Zimmerman Miller Abraham -- Orangeburg
Funeral services for Mrs. Willer Dean Zimmerman Miller Abraham will be held at noon Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Granger Baptist Church, Elloree, with the Rev. Steven G. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The casket will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Abraham died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004.
Friends may call at the residence of Gladys Myers, 620 Dwight Swamp Road, Cameron, at the residence of Gloria Hellingquest, 624 Dwight Swamp Road, and at Williams Funeral Home of Elloree.
James Leonard "Len" Rush
Mr. James Leonard "Len" Rush, 71, of 308 Suwanee Drive, Vance, died Friday, October 3, 2003, morning at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, in Gerizim United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barry Brinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rush was born in Santee, a son of the late Larry Allen Rush and Annie Jackson Rush. He was a graduate of Providence High School and an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rush was a graduate of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and received a master's degree from The Citadel. He was retired from the S.C. Water Resource Commission and was a member of Gerizim United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Griffin Kemmerlin Rush of the home; stepdaughter, Sharon Askew of Aiken; stepsons, Luther and Bruce Kemmerlin, both of Creston; grandchildren, Chris Fralix, Tonya and Stacy Bell, Josh, Eric, and Shantelle Kemmerlin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill from 6 to 8 p.m. this Saturday evening and other times at the home of the late Bessie Griffin, 687 Bonner Ave., Santee.

VANCE - Helen Hamby “Sister” Long, 73, of Vance died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Gerizim United Methodist Church in Vance with Rev. Ed Stiltz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sister was born in Vance, a daughter of the late Douglas Hamby and Mamie Myers Hamby. She was long-time employee of the former Tastee Food Shop in Santee and a member of Gerizim UMC.
Surviving are a son, Robert (Wendy) Long of Holly Hill; daughters, Lisa (Wayne) Logan of Bowman and Wanda (Lee) Blume of Elloree; and grandchildren, Jeffrey and Stephen Johnson, Josh Long, Jourdan Blume, Dewayne and Alexia Logan.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Avinger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Elizabeth Riley -- St. George
Mrs. Elizabeth Moultrie Riley of St. George, Hudsontown Community, died on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Summerville Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Good Hope Baptist Church, St. George.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1908.
Survivors include two daughters, Thelma (William) Windham, of St. George and Willie Catherine (Dixon) Gass, of Florence; three sons, Floyd (Mary Ann) Riley, Cornell Riley, of St. George, and Michael (Claretha) Riley, of Fayetteville, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Lewis, Lucille (Kenneth) Tracey, of Bronx, N.Y., Inez Stroud. of Detroit, Mich.; four brothers, Rev. Isaiah Moultrie (Eulah), Marion (Carrie) Moultrie, of Orangeburg, Moses (Alice) Moultrie, of Covington, Ga., John H. (Jessie), of South Ozone Park, N.Y.; devoted sister-in-law, Jannie L. Moultrie; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Thomas Quinn, 69, of 172 Pinckney St., Denmark, died Friday, December 23, 2005, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
Funeral plans will be announced by The Carroll Mortuary of Denmark.

Mrs. Rosa Lee Williams -- ORANGEBURG
Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Lee Williams, 87, of 944 Log Cabin Lane, Orangeburg, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2006, at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Donald E. Greene Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Felderville AME Church Cemetery, Elloree.
The casket will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m.
Mrs. Williams died Sunday, March 19, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born May 6, 1917, in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Abraham Whaley and the late Lillie Mae Whaley. She attended the public schools of Orangeburg County. At an early age she joined Andrew Chapel Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her illness. She was a housewife. She was married to the late Thomas “Buster” Williams and this union was blessed with six children.
Survivors include six children, Thomas Williams Sr. and Benjamin F. Williams, both of Queens Village, N.Y., Betty Ray Littles of Jersey City, N.J., Estelle Johnson of Bayonne, N.J., Abraham A. Williams of North Charleston and Rosa Lee Williams of Orangeburg; a special adopted daughter, Rose Marie Jenkins; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A wake will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Glover’s Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
Recy Reaves Weldon -- HARLEYVILLE
Funeral services for Recy Reaves Weldon, 94, of 113 Church St., Harleyville, will be held at noon, Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Jerusalem United Methodist Church, 137 Railroad Ave., Harleyville with the Rev. J. P. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Dorchester Cemetery.
The casket will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Ms. Weldon died Sunday, March 19, at Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews.
She was the daughter of the late April and Ida Reaves of Reevesville.
Survivors include a son, Wilson Weldon (Dorella), of Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Mildred Cain Samuel (Willie L. Jr.) of Orangeburg; five grandchildren, Lori Ann Weldon and Doreatha W. Reese (Johnny) of Miami, Fla., Yakima N. Samuel Hayes (Willie) of Atlanta, Antonio L. Samuel (Rachel) of Spotslyvania, Va., and Willie F. Samuel of Washington, D.C.; six great-grandchildren, Jerome Weldon (Jackie), Jermaine Reese and Valorie Weldon of Miami, Fla., Chymere Hayes of Atlanta and Kevin Samuel of Spotsylvania, Va. and Christopher Samuel of Chandler, Ariz.; one great-great-grandchildren, Jervone Weldon of Miami, Fla.; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday.
There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
