Margaret departed this life on Monday, November 13, at her residence after a brief illness.

She was born July 4, 1916, in Orangeburg County. She was the fourth oldest of eight children of the late Mack Lockard and the late Mary Huggins Lockard. She was a granddaughter of Wash Lockard and Jane Snell. She was the last of the third generation of Lockards.

Coming from a family of eight, she was family-oriented. Not having any children of her own, she treated all of her nieces and nephews as her own. She was the type of aunt everyone loved being around because she was able to relate to both the young and old. She did not hesitate to lend a helping hand when needed.

Margaret lived a long and loving life. She enjoyed life. She loved to travel, but most of all, she loved family gatherings. It did not matter whether they were in her home during the holidays or family reunions. She was active in the Lockard Family Reunion. She was also a member of the Tent Organization.

She will be truly missed. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Janie Keitt Lockard; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; other family members and array of many, many friends.
