HARLEYVILLE - Derrick “Junior” Jacob Risher, Jr., 69, of Harleyville, husband of Pansy Chubb Risher, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at his home where he wanted to be with family and friends.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Melvin Bell, Rev. Terry Hiers and Rev. Bob Lee officiating. Entombment, with Masonic Rites, will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kris Risher, Jay Risher, Robert Risher, Matt Pendarvis, Hank Mixon, Travis Chubb, Charlie Sanders, Michael Muckelvaney.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Carter, Doug Gore, Doug Hardee, and Billy Chubb.
Junior was born in Dorchester County, a son of the late Derrick Jacob Risher, Sr. and Maria Louise Gayle Risher. He was the owner of Continental Construction, and Maintenance, Risher Mining and Trucking, and Derrick’s Country Kitchen. Junior was a member of Bethel UMC, Egeria Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Omar Shrine Temple, and a charter member of the Good Cheer Hunting Club. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and spending time at the “ranch” with family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of almost 51 years, Pansy of Harleyville; daughter, Sheri (Charlie) Sanders of Goose Creek; son, Kris (Ginny) Risher of Harleyville; sisters, Minnie (Jack) Stroble of St. George, and Nancy Pendarvis of Harleyville; brother, Glenn (Rhonda) Risher of Harleyville; grandchildren, Jenna Risher, Jay Risher, Haley Risher, and Kristopher Risher, and Michael Muckelvaney all of Harleyville, Justin Parker and Matthew Taunton, both of Moncks Corner; a great-grandson, Holden Clark; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill, and other times at the family home.

Mrs. Hattie Lee Bates Stephens, of Mitchelleville, Md., died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at Mariner Health of Greater Laurel Nursing Facility.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Cannan Fair C.M.E. Church, Harley Road, Williston with the Rev. Larry Winfield officiating. Burial will be in Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 97 Dry Branch Road, New Ellenton, in the Stephens family plot.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha (James) Stephens Thomas; one granddaughter, Danette Thomas, all of Mitchelleville, Md.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family and friends may call after noon Thursday at Simmons Memorial Chapel of Elko, 10227 Highway 78, Elko.

A Memorial Services for Jessie James “Buddy” Gleaton, 62, of West Columbia, SC will be held three pm Sunday, March 13, 2011 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston. The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Buddy passed away Friday, March 11, 2011.
Born in Barnwell County he was a son of the late Jessie James Gleaton and Myrtle Hinson Gleaton. He was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include sisters, Lydia Ann Gleaton Stoner of Lexington, Gladys Gleaton “Skeeter” (Bobby) Harmon of Leesville; brother, Allen E. Gleaton of Lexington; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James Daniel Hinson Gleaton.

Funeral services for Isaac (Ike) Coleman, 82, of 415 Coleman St., Orangeburg, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at North United Methodist Church, 950 Cook Road, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Eddie C. Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Site.
Mr. Coleman died Thursday, Nov. 16, at the R. H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston after a brief illness.
He was born January 31, 1924, in the humble County of Orangeburg. He was one of 10 children of the late Josephine Thomas Coleman and Johnny Coleman. Ike found Jesus at an early age and grew up with the knowledge that without him, you have nothing, but with him everything is possible. He became a member of Nazzareth United Methodist Church, now known as North Orangeburg Methodist Church, early in life.
Ike was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County and attended Denmark Area Trade School. In 1943, during a time when our country was at war (World War II), he joined the United States Navy, and served his country honorably until 1946. He was a well known mason (stucco worker) in the Orangeburg area, and there was never a job too big or small for him to tackle. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and just being Ike. He always had a good smile for you and would do all he could to help everyone that asked for help, or was in need of help.
He leaves to cherish, to celebrate his life, and going home, his first true love and a very special friend, Dorothy Graham Coleman of Orangeburg; daughters, Laura C. Murphy (his best girl friend) of Orangeburg, Josephine Coleman of Orangeburg, Cassandra Coleman of Summerton; four sons, Isaac Coleman Jr. of Orangeburg, Andrew Coleman of Orangeburg, Samuel (Blanche) Coleman of Florence, Henry (Sabrina) Coleman of Orangeburg; three sisters, Rebecca Williams (twin to Ike) of Maryland, Emma Dixon of Orangeburg, Alice Macklin of New York; two brothers, Henry (Mozell) Coleman of Orangeburg, Howard (Juanita) Coleman of Orangeburg; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and very dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Bythewood Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
Friends may call at the residence of his daughter, Laura C. Murphy, 167 Halifax Circle, Orangeburg and at Bythewood Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Cema Satiyah Ryan, 23, of 10532 Heritage Hwy., Bamberg, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov.18, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Bamberg. Burial will be in Hope Memorial Cemetery, Barnwell.
Cema was born January 11, 1983, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Cheryl Maynard Ryan and the late Stanley Ryan. Cema was christened at Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church in Queens, N.Y. She was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Barnwell. Later she attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Cema attended the United Cerebral Palsy School in Queens, N.Y. After the family relocated to South Carolina in 1990, she attended Bamberg School District One until 2003.
Survivors include her mother, Cheryl Maynard-Ryan of the home; a sister, Anissa Latryah Ryan of Washington, D.C.; grandparents, Henry and Corine Maynard of Bamberg; and a great-uncle, the Rev. Cornell Mitchell of Barnwell.
The family will be greeting friends at the residence after the burial.
Carroll Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
