Mrs. Elloree Wood Campbell -- Cope

Mrs. Elloree Wood Campbell, 81, of 2602 Binnicker Bridge Road, Cope, died Saturday, November 11, 2006, at Bamberg County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, at Bethel Baptist Church near Norway, with the Rev. Dennis Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Norway.

The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Campbell was born August 9, 1925, in Salley, a daughter of the late William Wood and the late Addie Bell Skipper Wood. She was the widow of the late B. L. Campbell Sr. She was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Lee Campbell Jr.

Survivors include four children, Thelma Busbee, of Swansea, David Campbell, of Cope, Laura Ann Ballard, of Lakeland, Fla., and William Mike Campbell, of Cope; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of Mike Campbell, 2600 Binnicker Bridge Road, Cope and at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, at Thompson Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Shirley Syphrett -- Reevesville

Funeral services for Shirley Syphrett, 63, of Reevesville, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Reevesville, with the Rev. Cass Williams, officiating.

Mrs. Syphrett died Tuesday, November 14, in Columbia.

She was born Feb. 4, 1943, a daughter of the late Julius and Nola Syphrett. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Rosalyn Syphrett Bradley; three brothers, Rye W. Syphrett, James T. Syphrett and Abraham Syphrett; three sisters, O’Nell Green, Clara M. Lewis and Addie Britt.

Brown & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bruce Ray Gunter
January 24, 1923 ~ May 17, 2016 (age 93)

LAKE CITY - Bruce Ray Gunter, 93, former of Eutawville, died Tuesday, May 18, 2016.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service.

Born in Lexington, SC, Bruce was retired from the Navy having served in WWII and Korea.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda (Jim) Votery of Lakeland, FL.; a sister, Oulia Collins of Lexington; 3 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Brice -- Orangeburg

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Brice, 91, of 146 Dickson St., will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at Holy Trinity Catholic church, 2202 Riverbank Drive, Orangeburg, with Father Michael Okere officiating. Burial will be in the Belleville Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orangeburg.

The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Brice died Thursday, November 9, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

She was born December 24, 1914, in Orangeburg, a daughter of the late Frankie Jackson and Maria Frederick Jackson. She was educated in the Orangeburg public school system. At an early age, she joined Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and later after moving to New York, she embraced the Catholic Faith. She was employed with South Carolina State University in the Food Service Department. She was a dedicated and devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Joseph N. Brice Sr.

She leaves to cherish precious memories four daughters, Pernetta Brice, of Orangeburg, Myrtle Brice, of Raleigh, N.C., Gwendolyn (Barney) Wilson, of Webster Grove, Md., St. Clair Knowlin, of Hartford, Conn.; three sons, Stanley (Pamela) Brice, of Mount Kisco, N.Y., Joseph (Dorothy) Brice, of Providence, R.I., Christopher R. Brice, of Fall River, Mass.; 16 loving grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three nieces; four nephews; three grand nieces and a very special little caretaker and light of her life, Brevie Holiday and a host of relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Pernetta Brice, 146 Dickson St., Orangeburg or at the Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.

Prayer rosary service will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday

Contributions may be made to the Orangeburg Dialysis Clinic, 1184 Orangeburg Mall Circle, Orangeburg, SC.

Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Irene P. Brown -- ORANGEBURG

Mrs. Irene P. Brown, 74, of 687 Red Bank Road, Orangeburg, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be announced by Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence of her husband, Mr. Herbert W. Brown, 687 Red Bank Road, Orangeburg, or at Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Mrs. Dorothy F. Baxter, SANTEE

Memorial services for Mrs. Dorothy Fulghum Baxter, 72, of Bradford Village, Santee, wife of Wayne Baxter, will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Santee Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Doubles officiating. Burial will be later in Gainesville, Fla.

Mrs. Baxter died Tuesday, Nov. 7, in a Columbia hospital.

The family will receive friends after the service in the church social hall.

Eva Mae Wigfall
January 28, 1939 ~ June 15, 2016 (age 77)

EUTAWVILLE - Funeral services for Eva Mae Wigfall will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Silas United Methodist Church in Eutawville with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Whittaker Middleton and Rev. Delbert Brown will officiate.

The daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Washington, Eva Mae was born on January 28, 1939 in Orangeburg County, and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. She attended the public schools in Orangeburg County.

Eva leaves to cherish her memories are her beloved children, Cathy (Howard) Hamilton, Jerome (Margaret) Wigfall, Patricia Ann Moss, and Veronica Wigfall.

The viewing will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill. No viewing will be at the church. Friends may call the residence, 803-492-3099.
