Burnette Madison, 75, of Ridgeland, died April 15, 1999, in Low Country General Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight in Bostick Funeral Home, Ridgeland. Services will be at noon Thursday at Carey Hill Baptist Church with burial in Ellis Cemetery, Yemassee.
Mrs. Madison was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Ravenel, a daughter of George and Corine Martin Williams. She was a retired seamstress and inspector with Pincus Brothers. She was a member of Carey Hill Baptist Church where she was a secretary, sang in the Senior Choir and was assistant secretary to the Charity Board.
Surviving are a son, Dwight Ford of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Larcenia F. White of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Cynthia Butler of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, George Williams Jr. of Ridgeville and Edward C. Williams of New York, N.Y.; a sister, Shirley W. Garrett of Summerville; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Reginald O. Shand
Reginald O. Shand, 85, of Lady's Island and Brooklyn, N.Y., husband of Albertha Shand, died Monday, April 19, 1999, in Medical University Hospital, Charleston.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at W. Leon Sherman Mortuary, St. Helena Island, and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday in Siloam Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Siloam Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn.
Mr. Shand was born Feb. 12, 1914, in Clarenden, Jamaica.
Surviving are his wife; three children, Vilda L. Shand of West Palm Beach, Fla., Philbert Shand of Brooklyn and Fitzalbert Shand of Toronto, Canada; three step-children, Eugene Heyward of Brooklyn, Floretta Glover of Lady's Island and Sandra Watson of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Dorothy Wint of Kingston, Jamaica; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Angus Busby Jr., 58, of Hilton Head Island, widower of Ella Mae Thomas Busby, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, in Hilton Head Hospital.
A wake service will be from 7 to 8 tonight at 2nd African Baptist Church, Coosawhatchie.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Center, Ridgeland, with burial in Moncep Cemetery, Coosawhatchie.
Mr. Busby was born March 23, 1941, in Ridgeland, a son of Emma and Angus Busby Sr. He attended Coosawhatchie schools. He was self-employed.
Surviving are six sons, John A. Busby III of Atlanta, Deron Busby, James E. Busby and Nichols Pickney of Ridgeland, Joseph V. Busby of Philadelphia and Ulysees E. Busby of Germany; a stepdaughter, Loretta Blackwood; two stepsons, Ernest and Anthony Busby; a sister, Ann B. Richards of Savannah; five brothers, Joe L. Busby of Vineland, N.J., John P. busby of Alabama, Nathaniel Busby of Newark, N.J., Harold Busby of Springfield, Mass., and Joseph Busby of Savannah; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

James Kelly Myers
James Kelly Myers, 63, of Columbia, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, in Providence Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Stephens Episcopal Church Cemetery, St. Stephens.
Mr. Myers was born in Eutawville, a son of Frank E. Myers and Evelyn Jernigan Myers. He graduated from Holly Hill High School and from the University of South Carolina in 1959. He was a member of the USC Association of Lettermen and the Baptist Church of Beaufort.
Surviving are four sons, Kyle Myers of Pawley's Island, Keith Myers of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Craig Myers of Columbia and Clete Myers of Cullowhee, N.C.; three daughters, Cathy Boltin and Kelli Leadlove of Beaufort and Carol Robinson of Charleston; two brothers, Frank E. Myers Jr. of Columbia and Jesse "Buddy" Myers of Holly Hill; and 10 grandchildren.
Ernest W. Stein III
Ernest W. Stein III, 24, of Winslow, Maine, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, in Beaufort Naval Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Pittsfield, Maine.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Stein was born May 7, 1975, in Waterville, a son of Ernest Stein Jr. and Ann L. Ryan Stein.
He graduated from Waterville High School in 1993. He attended the University of Maine in Farmington and Augusta. He was employed by Maine General Medical Center for nine years. He joined the Marine Corps on Sept. 27, 1999. He was an avid reader and enjoyed America history and computers.
Surviving are his mother of Kennebunk, Maine, and father and stepmother, Clare Stein, of New Sweden, Maine; and two sisters, Lynn Stein of Franklin, Maine, and Lisa Stein of Clinton, Maine.
The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to your local humane society, the Waterville Humane Society or the Presque Isle Humane Society.
Eleanor Alexander Welch
Eleanor Alexander Welch, 85, of Beaufort, widow of Clyde Welch, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, in Bay View Nursing Care Center.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial in Old Silver Brook Cemetery.
Ms. Welch was born Dec. 13, 1913, in Charlotte, N.C., a daughter of Harvey Alexander Sr. and Willie Belle Alexander Carswell. She was a retired musician, having founded and directed the Starlighters Dance Band for many years. She was a former member of the Greenville Federation of Musicians board. She was an avid golfer and master duplicate bridge player. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Elaine McCallum of Beaufort and Susan Sanders of Tennessee; a brother, Harvey Alexander of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Sadie Barfield Hill, 86, of Florence, widow of Johnny Foster Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at her residence.

Mrs. Hill was born Aug. 14, 1913, in Lake City, a daughter of Harvey and Ella Dennis Barfield. She was a homemaker and a member of the Palmetto Street Church of God.
She was preceded in death by a son, Allen J. Hill.
Surviving are three daughters, Shirley H. Mangum of Beaufort, Katherine H. Matthews of Goose Creek and Diane H. Harrell of Florence; a brother, Woodrow Barfield of Fort Mill; a sister, Janie Smith of Hartsville; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
