Pearlie Gamble Wright, 81, of Ridgeland died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Savannah.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight and beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bostick Funeral Home, Ridgeland. Services will be at noon Thursday in St. Matthew Baptist Church, Ridgeland. Burial will be in Richardson Memorial Cemetery, Ridgeland.
Mrs. Wright was born Dec. 5, 1917, in Jasper County, a daughter of Henry Gamble and Rachel Mitchell Gamble. She was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church and the St. Catherine Chapter No. 46 Eastern Star. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Jessie Wright of Ridgeland; two sons, Henry Wright of Springhill, Fla., and Leroy Wright of Ridgeland; two daughters, Jessie W. Tyler of Ridgeland and Elizabeth Moore of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepbrothers, James and Eddie Wilson of Hardeeville; a sister, Josephine Washington of Hardeeville; a stepsister, Sarah Early of Hardeeville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Louise Shea Ross, 71, of Beaufort, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, in Beaufort National Cemetery, with military honors.
Mrs. Ross was born March 31, 1929, in Willimantic, Conn., a daughter of Thomas Andrew Shea and Delima Gelinas Shea. She was a graduate of The Willimantic State Teachers College in Willimantic, Conn. She served as a first lieutenant in the Women's Army Corps from 1953 to 1955 and received the National Defense Service Medal. A teacher, she retired from the Elk Lake School District, Dimock, Pa., where she was a member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Lady's Island Country Club and Lady's Island Country Club Women's Golf Association.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph E. Ross of Beaufort; two sons, Timothy J. Ross of Stewartstown, Pa., and Robert A. Ross of Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter, Kathryn M. French of Summerville; a brother, Thomas A. Shea Jr. of Urbanna, Va.; and five grandchildren.

Willie Washington Jr., 52, of Burton, died Friday, May 5, 2000, in Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Wake services will be from 7 to 8 tonight in Marshel's Wright-Donaldson Home For Funerals. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Burton New Church of Christ with burial following in Perriclair Cemetery, Ann's Point.
Mr. Washington was born Dec. 28, 1947, in Beaufort County, a son of Elizabeth Green Washington Pusha and Willie Washington Sr. He received his education in the public schools of Beaufort County and Bronx, N.Y. He graduated from Technical School with a degree in brick masonry. He worked as an independent Brick Mason contractor.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Deacon Ezekiel Pusha of Burton; two brothers, Herbert L. Washington of Beaufort and Roger Washington of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Annette Gainey of Killeen, Texas, Bianca Washington of Walterboro and Valerie Rogers of Greenville, Tenn.

Elvard Smith, 66, died June 8, 2000, in Savannah Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Coosawhatchie.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Padgett Branch Baptist Church in Grays, with burial in Rock Spring Baptist Church Cemetery in Grays.
Mr. Smith was born Dec. 25, 1933, in Gillisonville, a son of the late Taft Smith and Rosa Lee Padgett Smith. He was a member of Padgett Branch Baptist Church for several years where he served as a trustee and was a member of the senior choir. He was employed for 16 years with Sprint. He also was a mechanic and a nurses assistant.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Lela Mae Ferguson-Smith of Gillisonville; five children, Diane Smith-Graham of Hickory, N.C., Freda Smith-Johnson of Savannah, Ga., Jacqueline Smith-Scott of Varnville, Janette Smith-Fields of Burton and John E. Smith of Port Royal; three sisters, Betty Jean Allen, Celeste Allen and Lillie Rose Smith, all of Ridgeland; two brothers, Roosevelt Smith of Ridgeland and Walker Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.
