Services for Kimberlee Crowley Cook, 39, of 420 S. Limestone St., were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Gaffney conducted by the Rev. Joel Sellers and Dr. Bev Kennedy. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Cook, Cody Cook, Phil McCluskey, Kurt Jolliff, Tim Pettit and Don Brock.
The family is at the home of Jim and Shirley Cook, 109 Hillside Dr.

Cecil Phillips Sr.
BLACKSBURG – Cecil William Phillips Sr., 73, of 422 N. Charleston St., died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Mount Hope, W. Va., he was the husband of Pearl Marcel Evans Phillips and son of the late Troy Preston and Ruby Willis Phillips. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, was a veteran and of the Church of God faith.
Also surviving are six sons, Cecil William Phillips Jr. of Willard, Ohio, Dennis W. Phillips of Medina, Ohio, Troy Lee Phillips of Lima, Ohio, Jeffery Mark Phillips of Grafton, Ohio, James "Jimbo" Phillips of Greene, Ohio, and Steve David Phillips of Cleveland, Ohio; five daughters, Clora Mae Ferrell, Sabrina Phillips and Martha Phillips, all of Blacksburg, Trena M. Everette of Louisville, Ky., and Debra Burke of Gaffney; two brothers, Leon Phillips of Chicago, Ill., and Robert Phillips of Bedford, Ohio; three sisters, Suzie Canteberry and Maggie Phillips, both of Oak Hill, W.Va., and Ruth Vance of Chicago, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Shuford-Hatcher Chapel with the Rev. Dean Painter officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 7-9 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.
The family is at the residence.

George Manning
George Alexander Manning, 67, of 328 Darby Rd., died today, Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Blacksburg, he was the husband of Mary Ann Dobek Manning and was a textile worker.
Also surviving are five daughters, Rhonda Humphries, Diann Manning, Shannon Spencer, Carol Ane Mullinax and Becky Campbell, all of Gaffney; one son, George E. Manning of Gaffney; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters.

Eloise Humphries
Eloise Blanton Humphries, 93, formerly of the Corinth Community, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, in Durham Regional Hospital in Durham, N.C.
A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Homer Humphries and daughter of the late Columbus Marion and Donie Hopper Blanton. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Sybil Popsou of Durham, N.C.; one son, James K. Humphries of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Alberta Hall of Forest City, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

Rev. Y.C. Smith
The Rev. Y.C. Smith, 71, of 43 Westwind Village, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at his home.
Born in Cherokee County, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Olivia McKissick Smith. He was a member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Penny Littlejohn of Gaffney; six brothers, Lawrence Smith Jr., Roosevelt Smith, the Rev. Louis Smith and Preston Smith, all of Greensboro, N.C., the Rev. Edgar Smith of Winnsboro, and Silas Smith of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three sisters, Iola Lattimore of Gaffney, Coleen Hayes of Baltimore, Md., and Rosa Lee Smith of Greensboro.
The family is at the home of Iola Lattimore, 512-1/2 Kelly St. Arrangements are incomplete. The Gilmore Mortuary is in charge.
Brenda Kilgore
Brenda Carolyn Fernanders Kilgore, 45, of 201 Concord Ave., died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Gaffney and was a daughter of Earnestine Littlejohn Means of Gaffney and the late Floyd Fernanders. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Also surviving are her husband, Johnny Kilgore of Blacksburg; three sons, James (Josh) Fernanders and Derrick Gist, of the home, and Timothy T. Fernanders of Gaffney; one daughter, Brenda Lachell Kilgore of Gaffney; step-father, the Rev. F.J. Means Sr. of Gaffney; one brother, Rickey Len Fernanders of Gaffney; two sisters, Annie Levon Fernanders and Diane Brannon, both of Gaffney; step-brother, Fleming J. Means Jr. of Gaffney; three grandchildren.
Arrangements are incomplete. The family is at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. F.J. Means Sr., 139 Iris Lane.

Sarah Scates, wife of Henry Scates, of 119 Christopher Rd., died today, Nov. 3, 1999, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

George Guyton
Services for George Junior Guyton, 45, of 125 Lincoln Dr., will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Mikes Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Kerwin Wray, Samuel Leach, Robert L. Dover and Judy Dover officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers and flower bearers will be members of the Gaffney High School Class of 1972.

Joseph Bright
Joseph Delmar Bright, 75, of 1059 McKowns Mountain Rd., died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at his residence.
A native of Gaffney, he was the widower of Doris Pearson Bright and son of the late James J. Bright and the late Alice T. Black. He was a textile supervisor, World War II veteran, member of VFW-Absher Flowers Post and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Audie Bright, brothers, J.W. Bright, Charles Bright, Henry Bright and Leonard Bright; and sisters, Shella Teague and Ora Black.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Bright of Gaffney and Ronald Bright of Gastonia, N.C.; two daughters, Linda Jenkins of Bessemer City, N.C., and Donna Flynn of Gastonia, N.C.; four sisters, Mary Starnes of Gaffney, Pansy Francois of Ruth, N.C., Dorothy Evans of Charlotte, N.C., and Louise Bright of Bessemer City, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Shuford-Hatcher Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Craggs officiating.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3-4 prior to the services at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.
The family is at the residence.
