Lexie Clayton
INMAN - Lexie G. Clayton, 86, formerly of 6 Church St., Apt. 112, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at a local nursing home.
She was the widow of Robert A. "Lon" Clayton. She was a homemaker and member of Rock Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Robert Clyde Clayton of Butner, N.C.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mark Williams officiating.

Beryl Allen
Graveside services for Beryl Brigman Allen, 85, formerly of 370 Fifth St., were held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Herbert Neely.
Pallbearers were Jim Broome, Jerry Pennington, Greg Allen, Ross Vandeventer and Frank Hawkins.
The family is at the residence of Jerry Allen, 221 Draytonville Hwy., Gaffney.

Graveside services for Robert Walter Edwards Sr., 50, of 118 Summer Dr., were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Henry Guyton.
Pallbearers were Tommy Spencer, Bobby Bolick, Andrew Stowers, Johnny Spencer, Roy Pennington and Ricky Sprouse.

Frida Smith
BELMONT, N.C. - Frida Morean King Smith, 87, of 425 Holly Dr., died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Brian Center, Gastonia, N.C.
A native of Linton, Ind., she was the widow of Edward Smith and daughter of the late Ottis Walter and Bessie Maude Channey King. She was retired from American Mutual Insurance Co. and member of First Baptist Church of Belmont.
Survivors include two daughters, Sara S. Haynes of Belmont, N.C., and Patricia Frey of Charleston, W.Va.; one sister, Chletelle Lawson of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Baker officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Webb, Robert Frey, Hurley Curlee, Yates Springs, Todd Kranner and Patrick Owensby.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:30-2 p.m. prior to the services at Gordon Mortuary.

Scottie Davis
NEWARK, N.J. - Scottie Davis, 31, of 8th Street, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at his residence.
A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of Leonard Davis of Newark, N.J. and Dora Berry Davis of Newark, N.J. He was a member of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church in Blacksburg. He was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, Class of 1986.
Also surviving are one sister, Kansas Davis of Gaffney; two brothers, Michael Stokes and Eric Stokes of Charlotte, N.C.; and grandmother, Lucy Davis of Blacksburg.
The family will be at the home of his grandmother, Lucy Davis, 302 Lime St., Blacksburg.

Allen Jefferies
BALTIMORE, Md. - Allen W. Jefferies, 58, of 5602 Govane Ave., died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Hospital.
A native of Washington, D.C., he was the husband of Shirley Jefferies and son of Thelma Wood Jefferies and the late Cleophus Jefferies. He was a member of Gowdeysville Baptist Church and a retired employee of General Motors after 30 years of service.
Also surviving are three daughters, Tanya D. Jefferies of the home, Debora R. Taylor and Sharise Jefferies of Baltimore, Md.; and one brother, Louise Jefferies of Detroit, Mich.
Services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Gowdeysville Baptist Church with the Revs. C.N. Sullivan and Duane Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his first cousins.
Flowerbearers will also be his first cousins.
Body will be at Foster Funeral Home Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The family is at the home of his mother, Thelma Wood Jefferies.

Nellie Weaver
Nellie Cline Weaver, formerly of Asheboro, N.C., died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999.
A native of Forsyth County, N.C., she was the widow of Ira J. Weaver and daughter of Pleas David and Carrie Henning Cline. She was a long-time member of Central United Methodist Church where she was a nursery Sunday School teacher and superintendent for 48 years. She also was Assistant Treasurer and President of W.S.C.S., Chairman of Status of Women W.S.C.S., Life membership of Western North Carolina Conference, Girl Scout Troop Leader and an honorary member of the Administrative Board of Central United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one brother, Dallas David Cline of Gaffney; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services were held today at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church conducted by the Revs. Chris Thore, Byron Alexander and Ervin Price.
Burial was at Randolph Memorial Park.

Rufus Spencer
Rufus C. Spencer, 87, formerly of 1200 E. Frederick St., died today, Nov. 8, 1999, at Brookview House.
A native of Gaffney, he was the widower of Oradell Burgess Spencer and son of the late M.C. and Mahala Pettit Spencer. He was a retired textile employee and member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Ricky Walker
Ricky Franklin "Honkey" Walker, 46, of 113 Northwood Dr., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of Margaret Aileen Davis Walker and the late Paul Franklin Walker. He was a mechanic for State Government and a member of Bass Masters and West End Baptist Church.
Also surviving are two daughters, April Deanna Peeler and Ashly Jolley, both of Gaffney; one brother, Richard Walker of the home; two sisters, Sondra Aileen Walker and Billie Sue Thornton, both of Gaffney; and one grandchild.
Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Chapel conducted by the Rev. James E. Holder. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Doug Strevel, Rick Horne, Mike McDaniel, Francis McDaniel, Jimmy Whelchel and Johnny Jones.
The family is at the residence.
