Austin Franklin Littlejohn, 92, husband of 63 years to Lucille Vaughan Littlejohn, of 1417 Lockhart Hwy., died at his home, July 5, 2002, after a period of declining health.
Mr. Littlejohn was born in Cherokee County on April 25, 1910, a son of the late Walton Stafford and Lelia Evans Littlejohn. He was retired from Milliken & Co. after 50 years of service.
He was a mason for over 60 years and was the catcher for the Monarch Baseball Team of 1937 which won the State Trophy. Mr. Littlejohn was a lifetime member of Mon-Aetna Baptist Church where he was a former RA leader, training union director, and was a member of the choir.
Mr. Littlejohn is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas A. and Kay Littlejohn of Union and Gene and Linda Littlejohn of Baytown, Texas; and three grandchildren, Andrea Littlejohn, Marlon Littlejohn and Crystal Littlejohn. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mon-Aetna Baptist Church by the Rev. Benny Green and Rev. Dale Lynch.
Burial was at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were Wayne Springs, Richard Baldwin, Freddie Baldwin, Brent Littlejohn, Wendel Littlejohn and Jeff Littlejohn. Members of the Jim Smith Sunday School Class of Mon-Aetna Baptist Church and Neil and Kristi Banks were asked to sit in a group.
The body was placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday to await the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mon-Aetna Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 72, Union. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Norine H. Morgan
COLUMBIA - Norine Hancock Morgan, 82, widow of Claude Oliver Morgan, died July, 5, 2002. Mrs. Morgan was born in Star, N.C., a daughter of the late J.H. Hancock Jr. and Lillie Ethel Stutts Hancock.
She was a member of Greenlawn Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Surviving are three daughters, Billie Ann King of Union, Sandra (Sam) Flowers and Terrie Morgan both of Columbia; a brother, Vernon Hancock of Carmel, Ind.; a sister, Lila Corpining of Tryon, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Morgan was predeceased by five brothers, Alton Hancock, Howard Hancock, Hoyle Hancock, James H. (Lefty) Hancock Jr. and Lynwood Hancock.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Greenlawn Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation was held from 3-4 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, PO Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, Columbia, had charge of arrangements.
Elsie L. Sinclair
SPARTANBURG - Elsie Lancaster Sinclair, 72, of 662 Zimmerman Lake Rd., Spartanburg, died July 5, 2002, at her home. Mrs. Sinclair was a native of Spartanburg and reared in Union County, a daughter of the late William Fair and Janie Ellen Lancaster.
She was retired from Spartanburg School District 6, having taught at Pauline-Glenn Springs Elementary School from 1970-1990. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, member of the Altar Guild, the C.H. Chrietzberg Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women and Treasurer of Bethel Circle #7.
Mrs. Sinclair was a volunteer with Mobile Meals. She was a graduate of Union High School and Limestone College. Surviving are her husband, William R. (Bill) Sinclair of the home; three sons, Phil Sinclair and his wife, Vicki, and Mike Sinclair all of Spartanburg and Tony Sinclair and his wife, Jill, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Phillip, John and Will Sinclair all of Spartanburg, Katie Beth and Sarah Sinclair of Winston-Salem, N.C.
A celebration of life will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church by Dr. Charles A. Graves. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church parlor. The family will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306, or to Bogansville United Methodist Cemetery Fund, 4052 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Jonesville, SC 29353, or to the RSVP Program, c/o the Senior Center, 142 S. Dean St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, or to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg County Inc., PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. Floyd's North Church Street Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Ruby B. Teague
Surviving are her loving husband of 67 years, Everette P. Teague; three sisters, Betty Ann Briggs and Elsie Weathers both of Union and Marie Padgett of Spartanburg; and a brother, Bobby Beard of Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel in The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Donations may be made to one's favorite charity. Jackson Funeral Service, 1101 Greenville Hwy., Hendersonville, N.C., is in charge of arrangements.
Lona McCall Petty
CLINTON - Lona McCall Petty, 70, of 313 Beauregard St., Clinton, widow of William J. (Bill) Petty Sr., former residents of Lockhart, died July 9, 2002, in Greenville Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Petty was born in Williamston on Jan. 10, 1932, a daughter of the late Andrew McCall and Sophia Mae McDonald McCall. She was of the Church of God faith and was retired from Clinton Mills.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Kathy) Mangum of Laurens; two sons, William J. (Jackie) Petty Jr. and Debra Petty and Timothy (Tim) Dale and Becky Petty all of Clinton; three grandchildren reared in the home, Marya Bishop, Erica Merrill and Kevin Croy; two sisters, Mary M. Hurley of Clinton and Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Hawkins of Lockhart; four brothers, Sam and Sandra McCall of Laurens, Frank and Rose McCall of Newberry, Bill McCall of N.C. and Ernest McCall of Clinton; five other grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Petty was predeceased by a brother, Jessie James McCall. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Clinton by the Rev. Jayon McKee. Burial will be in the Rosemont Cemetery in Clinton.
After 4 p.m. today the body will be at the home, 313 Beauregard St., Clinton, and will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Friday to await the hour of service. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Louise Wright Walker
Louise Wright Walker, 79, widow of Joe Walker, formerly of Lockhart, died July 11, 2002 at 12:28 a.m. in Ellen Sagar Nursing Home after an extended illness. Mrs. Walker was born in Union County on March 4, 1923, a daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Easler Wright.
She was a member of the Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from the Milliken & Co., Lockhart Plant. Mrs. Walker was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Joe Tommie of Columbia and Rhonda W. and Steve Gibson of Union; three grandchildren, Donya Sumner of Buffalo, Joely Tommie of Columbia and Garrett Gibson of Union. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Richard Conyers and Dr. Tommy Bryson.
Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. and will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday to await the hour of service. The S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Betty Jean Eubanks
Betty Jean Roberts Eubanks, 67, of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home, widow of Wayne Ronald Eubanks, died July 12, 2002, at 3:05 a.m. in Wallace Thomson Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Eubanks was born in Chester on July 16, 1934, a daughter of the late William Terry Roberts and Hattie Evelyn Strickland Roberts. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was retired from Klapat Industries.
Surviving are two daughters, Theresia Howell and Patricia Nave, both of Union; two sons, Ronald Terry Eubanks of Earl, N.C. and Jonathan Wayne Eubanks of Spartanburg; two sisters, Margaret Earls and Bernice Bush both of Union; four brothers, Leroy Roberts, Coleman Roberts and Billy Roberts, all of Union and Bob Roberts of Saginaw, Michigan; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Eubanks was predeceased by a son, Wayne Ronald Eubanks Jr.; a sister, Gaynelle Ray and a brother, Edward Roberts. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints conducted by President Mike Roberts, Joe Larson and Jackie Earls.
Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ronald Wayne Eubanks, Talmadge DeWitt Howell, Benjamin Thomas Nave, Michael Wayne Nave, Christopher Charles Nave and Tony Roberts.
The following are asked to assemble at the church Sunday at 1:45 p.m. to form the honorary escort: Ricky Bush, Tim Roberts and Terry Roberts. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 until 9 and will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday to await the hour of service.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Teresia Howell, 117 Scenic Drive, Union. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
