Wiggins, Jr., Joe
July 30, 1955-September 28, 2001. Mr. Joe Richard Wiggins, Jr. was born to Thelma H. Wiggins and Joe R. Wiggins, Sr. in Edgecombe County, North Carolina on July 30, 1955.
He passed away quickly and in peace in North Charleston, South Carolina on Friday, September 28, 2001.
Joe Wiggins attended the public schools of Greensboro, North Carolina and North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. He then joined the U.S. Navy on January 16, 1980 and entered the submarine service. He attended the Enlisted Basic Submarine Course, Machinist Mate "A" school, and four technical schools. He served his tour of duty on the nuclear powered submarine, USS Sand Lance (SSN660), stationed in Charleston, South Carolina; it was onboard this submarine, as a member of Auxiliary Division, that he was designated as a qualified submariner. He earned and was authorized to wear three Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, the Meritorious Unit Commendation medal, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the Battle Efficiency "E" medal for excellence, and the enlisted submarine device, affectionately referred to by submariners as his "silver dolphins".
Upon discharge from the U.S. Navy as Machinist Mate Petty Officer Second Class (Submarines) Joe Richard Wiggins on January 15, 1986, he worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, starting in the Quality Assurance Shop. When that shipyard was closed by the federal government, he transferred to Fort Hood, Texas and worked in supply management for about three years, prior to returning to Charleston, South Carolina.
Mr. Wiggins married Joyce Vernice Watson on August 7, 1982 in Windsor, North Carolina and they had two children, Danielle Nicole Wiggins, born on June 6, 1985, and Joe Richard Wiggins, III, born on January 22, 1989. Both children were born in Charleston, South Carolina. In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Wiggins is survived by his mother, Mrs. Thelma Wiggins of Rocky Mount North Carolina; an aunt, Mrs. Josephine Heugan (married to Herbert Heugan); an uncle, Mr. William Hobbs (married to Gardenia Hobbs); two brothers, Mr. Milton Ray Wiggins of Chicago, Illinois and Mr. Maceo Wiggins, Rocky Mount, North Carolina; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine W. Jones of Aiken, South Carolina, Miss Bertha Wiggins of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and Miss Deborah Wiggins of Tarboro, North Carolina; as well as a host of relatives and friends who grieve their loss but who also celebrate his time with them on Earth and his passing to a greater life with our Father in Heaven.
Funeral Services will held at 1 PM on Friday, October 5 at Stokes Funeral Home, 207 Albemarle Avenue, Rocky Mount, North Carolina 27801.
Commitment will be at the Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.

Julia Grace Mazzella, infant daughter of Joel and Ashley Mazzella of Daniel Island, died Thursday, October 4, 2001 in a local hospital. LINN, JR., Henry
Henry "Hank" F. Linn, Jr., 63, died suddenly Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at a local hospital. Born July 22, 1938 in the Bronx, NY. He was the son of the late Henry J. Linn and Pierina (Bea) Linn (nee Gigilo). Mr. Linn served in the US Marine Corps. He was employed by Delta Airlines for 33 years and retired in 1955 as the Supervisor of Maintenance. A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, was Past Grand Knight of the Donald J. Godfrey Council #6726 and an officer with Msgr. Richard C. Madden Assembly 1900. His son, Charles Linn, and sister, Gladys Agins, preceded him in death. Mr. Linn is survived by his wife Irene; son, Jeffrey Linn (wife, Deanna), Goose Creek; two daughters, Patricia Golla (husband, Patrick), Summerville and Denise Chandler (husband, David), Goose Creek; mother Pierina (Bea) Linn, N. Charleston; sister, Cathy Harrison, New Jersey; nine grandchildren, Timothy Hebert, Henry Linn, Jeremy Herbert, Stephen Linn, Christopher Linn, Kristina Linn, Michael Linn, Meghan Chandler, and MaKayla Chandler; daughter-in-law Regina Linn, Houston, Texas. Mr. Lipe was born in Asheville, NC, a son of Frank Lipe and Rowena Goodlake Lipe. He was retired owner/manager of Lipe Sheet Metal in Charleston and was a sheet metal draftsman/planner at Charleston Naval Shipyard during WWII. He was employed for over 30 years at Charleston Sheet Metal and Roofing Company as shop manager.
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Lipe Shaw of Charleston, SC; two sons, Joe H. Lipe, Jr. of Spring, TX and Jerome Grant Lipe of Spartanburg, SC; a sister, Louise Lipe Moore of Oak Ridge, TN and thirteen grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren.
Mr. Lipe was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Grant Lipe and a son Frederick David "Rick" Lipe.

Andrew James Casselman, 89, widower of Lila Orena Moore Casselman, died Wednesday, October 3, 2001, at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Casselman was born January 8, 1912, in Williamsburg County, a son of Benjamin "Benny" Casselman and Alice Freeman Casselman. He was an employee of the Pulp Mill Division of the Georgetown Mill of International Paper Company; a Local 357 Paperworker Union member, a IP Quarter Century Club member; a member of the Sampit Hunting Club; and attended the Georgetown First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are three sons, Willard "Bill" Casselman and Robert Casselman both of Andrews, Olin Lee Casselman of Spartanburg; two daughters, Barbara Wendell of Georgetown and Betty Jo Behler of Elizabethtown, NC; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Hadwin was born February 11, 1960 in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Grover W. Hadwin, Jr. and the late Gloria Goodwin Drain Hadwin. He was a graduate of Berkeley High School. He was a self-employed property manager.
Survivors include one brother, Michael Snipes of Columbia; three sisters, June Smith and Lisa Leslie both of Summerville and Tami Linker of James Island; maternal grandmother, Elvera Wiley of Summerville; his other mother, Mary Hadwin of John's Island; twelve nieces and nephews and twelve great-nieces and nephews. His sister, Brenda Barker, predeceased him.

Mr. Braecklein was born January 23, 1931 in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Leroy A. Braecklein, Sr. and the late Grace Lowry Braecklein, Sr. and the late Grace Lowry Braecklein. He was a diesel mechanic with Walden Transport Truck Service and Repair. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Summerville; six daughters, Susan B. Matson of James Island, Jaynean B. Monk of Boiling Springs, NC, Kimberly A. Pierce and Tonya M. Gallardo both of Summerville, Amy B. Davis of Charleston Heights and Melissa Ann Hall of Walterboro; two sons, William L. Braecklein, Jr. of Goose Creek and Tracy C. Braecklein of Charleston; two brothers, Clarence H. Braecklein and Leroy A. Braecklein, Jr. both of Florida; twenty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A brother, Thomas H. Braecklein, predeceased him.

Billy Harold Clanton, 66, of Ladson, SC passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2001. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 11 AM at MILLER-RIVERS-CAULDER Funeral Home Chapel in Chesterfield, SC. Entombment at Carolina Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, North Charleston.
Mr. Clanton was born in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Frank Morris and Blanch Perdue Clanton. He was retired Owner and Operator of Jedburg Auto Salvage. Mr. Clanton was a retired Senior Chief Master Sergeant with the U.S. Airforce with 30 years of service, having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was a member of Oakbrook Baptist Church and was married to the late Margie Gardner Clanton. Preceded in death by a niece Tammy Kirkley.
Surviving are 1 son, Harold Clanton of Moncks Corner, SC; 2 daughters, Debbie Sutton and husband Rob and husband, Rob and Cindy Rossillo all of Anderson, SC; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Sutton, Shawn Sutton, and Amber Rossillo; 2 sisters, Shirley C. Strawn of Ruby, SC and Linda C. Seamon and husband Earl of Matthews, NC; 3 aunts, Ola P. Morse of Chesterfield, SC, Mary P. Edwards of Mint Hill, NC and Bonnie C. Lane and husband of Red of Charlotte, NC.
