THEOS, Peter
Peter J. Theos, 71, of Charleston, a retired Charleston Naval Shipyard Supply Officer, died Saturday, October 6, 2001 at a local hospital. Mr. Theos was born October 19, 1929, in Charleston, a son of Maki Galiatsatou Theos and Jerry Theos. He attended Bennett School and graduated from The High School of Charleston. He was a member of the Army National Guard and was active in the Footlight Flayers, the Dockstreet Theater, the American Ballet and Traynor Ferillo's Passion Plays. Mr. Theos was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. He is survived by two brothers: Nicholas J. Theos of Charleston and Chris J. Theos of Ormond Beach, FL; two nieces, Fay Theos of Charlotte, NC and Chrissy Theos Bramblett of Atlanta, GA; two nephews, Jerry N. Theos and Paul N. Paul Henry Cooper, 79, of Lugoff, SC, formerly of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired disaster preparedness director for Berkeley County, died Friday in a Camden hospital.The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, Moncks Corner. He was a Sealer at the Columbia, SC, Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a volunteer at the Kershaw County Medical Center. He formerly attended Arizona State University.Surviving are his wife. Lillie Branham Martin Cooper; three daughters, Tookie C. Harrop and Kim J. Cooper both of Moncks Corner, and Coral C. Werner of Provo, Utah; one sister, Eleanor C. McIntyre of Gilbert, Arizona; one brother, Jesse F. Cooper of Mesa, Arizona; and twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Taylor.A native of Greer, she was a daughter of the late Homer Babb and Hattie Campbell Babb Atkins, a member of First Baptist Church Duncan and a retired employee of Lyman Printing and Finishing Company.Surviving are four daughters: Doris Smith of Summerville, Jean Morgan of Lyman, Geraldine Stephens of Woodruff and Betty Monroe of Greer; two brothers, Claude Babb of Greer and James Babb of Greenville; two sisters, Lizzie Flynn of Greer and Alta Babb of Greenville; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Duncan conducted by the Rev. Mrs. Auld is survived by her mother of Whiteville, NC, 2 daughters: Jean A. Pairis and Judy A. Howell both of Chesapeake, VA, a sister: Mary Alice Hunt of Charleston and four grandchildren: Kelly P. Lucy Foster Gaillard, 81, of Charleston, died Saturday, October 6, 2001. She was the wife of J. Palmer Gaillard, Jr., former Mayor of Charleston. She and the former Mayor were married for over 57 years.Mrs. Gaillard was the former Lucy Foster, daughter of William Ball Foster and Lucy Huguenin Foster. She was born in Charleston on September 16, 1920. She attended local schools and worked as a stenographer on Broad Street for several years, prior to her marriage.When she was younger, she was an active member of the Junior League of Charleston and other civic activities. She was also very active for sixteen years as Charleston's First Lady and was known and admired for her home entertaining. She always accompanied her husband on his official City responsibilities believing that it was her duty as First Lady of the City.She is survived by her husband, three sons, J. Palmer Gaillard, III, W. Foster Gaillard, Thomas H. Gaillard; and five grandchildren, all of Charleston.Funeral services will be held at St. Philip's Church at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2001, and the burial will be in the Church cemetery.
