Forest Donald "Don" Waltz, 73, of Summerville, widower of Alvirna Mae Waltz, died Saturday morning in a North Charleston Hospital.

Born on November 21, 1927, in Meadeville, Missouri, a son of the late Stella Mae Buck Waltz.
He was a retired Supervisor with the City of Miami Springs, Florida Water Department. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He attended schools in Des Moines, Iowa.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Christy Waltz of Summerville, Mike and Mary Beth Waltz of Ocala, FL, and one sister, Roberta Hildenbrand of Eldon, MO; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

EVANS, Helen
WALTERBORO - Helen Herndon Evans, 87 year old widow of Charles Evans, died Sunday in a local medical center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Fred Parker Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Posey Belcher and Dr. Steve Brown. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans was born Sept. 27,1914 in Smoaks, a daughter of the late Lonnie B. Herndon and Chessie Myers Herndon. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Norma Nichols Circle for many years. She was a retired beautician and owner of Stokes Beauty Shop.
Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Funderburk of Columbia; three sisters, Ruth H. Bruins of Walterboro, Jane Moniz of North Charleston and Julie Westbury of St. Matthews; a brother, William (Billy) Herndon of Bowman; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lonnie Herndon, Jr. of California and Mrs. Harold Herndon of Reevesville and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Julian Gatch.

Judith "Judy" Messervy Burress, 55, of Summerville, widow of Samuel Sydney Burress, Jr. died Saturday morning in a Charleston hospital.

Born on October 8, 1945, in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Wilkie Tilden Messervy, Jr. and Retha Mae Best Messervy.
Mrs. Burress was the first successful lung transplant recipient from the Medical University of South Carolina. She was a graduate of Summerville High School. She was a retired secretary with Charleston Air Force Base. She attended New Life Baptist Church.
Surviving are one brother, Clayton Messervy of Eutawville; one sister, Dianne M. Feltner of Summerville; one niece; four nephews; 5 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews.

Doris Graham Duvoisin, 79, died Saturday evening, October 6, 2001 in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The family has arranged private services at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL.
A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Roy B. and Hattie Leopold Graham. Formerly of Whitney Point, New York, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Stars and Whitney Point Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her sons, R. Chris (Yvonne) Metz and Kim (Michele) Metz, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Her sisters, Brita Cross and Ila Jean Wilson and her brother, Dale Graham, all of Florida, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

PAMPLICO - Dawson Barnwell Windham, 85, died Monday, October 8, 2001 in a Florence hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Windham was born in Florence County, a son of the late Josey Mann and Mary Elizabeth Shepard Windham. He was a retired farmer and a member of Black Oak Hunting Club and also attended Christian Fellowship.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Poston Windham of Pamplico; one daughter, Harriett (Jimmy) Graham of Lake City; three sons, Ronnie (Sue) Windham and Randy Windham both of Pamplico and Jerold Windham of Charleston; one sister, Louise W. Smithey of Scranton; three brothers, Roy (Ann) Windham of Timmonsville, Cecil Windham of Florence and Lewis (Marie) Windham of Marion; 10 grandchildren, Karen (Russell) McClary of Kingstree, Dean (Becky) Windham of Scranton, Brad (Lisa) Windham of Charleston, Wanda (Donnie) Springs of Scranton, Cindy (Jim) Hatcher of Cleveland, GA, Patty (Michael) Brown of Lake City, Sandra (Don) Gaskins of Hartsville, Kristi (Mike) Provau of Pamplico, Marty Windham of Pamplico and Glenda Windham of Charlotte, NC and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 10256, Goose Creek, and the State Director for the Southeastern Chapter of Electrical Apparatus Service Association.
He is survived by his wife of Goose Creek, S.C.; son, Dean Allan DeBok and wife Gwen of Fenton, Mo.; daughter, Denise DeBok Herlihy and husband Thomas A. Herlihy, Jr., of Bonneau, S.C.; sisters, Lois Fogle of Chariton, Iowa, Joan McKinley of Roseville, Calif.; three grandsons, Timothy John, Michael Eugene and Joshua Dean Herlihy.
