CROSSLAND, Hazel
ANDERSON - Mrs. Hazel Cathey Willingham Crossland, wife of F. Milton Crossland of 600 Glenwood Avenue, Anderson, SC, died Thursday, October 10, 2001 at her residence.
Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Claude Lee Cathey and the late Duber Hilliard Cathey. Mrs. Crossland was a retired Real Estate Agent, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Outreach Entertainers. She was a volunteer for The American Red Cross during World War II and was a former den mother for the Cub Scouts of America, Anderson Chapter. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson where she was also a member of the Baracca Sunday School Class.
Surviving is her husband, F. Milton Crossland of the home; son, George L. Willingham and wife, Jean of Anderson; two sisters, Nobia Mauldin and Mary Lou Walker Burriss, both of Anderson; grandson, Stephen Willingham and wife, Charmaine of Mt. Pleasant, SC; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Erwin Willingham of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, the late George T. Willingham; a brother, Reece Cathey and two sisters, Lillian Sease and Ina Kay and a great-grandson, Lawton Lee Willingham.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2001 at the New Silverbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Hayes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

GILES, Keith
Funeral services for the late Mr. Keith Levon Giles will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at C.E. Murray High School, Greeleyville, SC. Interment will follow in Gordon Cemetery, Lane, SC. DIMERY AND ROGERS FUNERAL HOME in Kingstree is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Giles, age 19, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 8, 2001 in Sumter County.
He was born October 4, 1982, in Sumter, SC a son of Mr. Sam Willie Giles and Mrs. Wanda Faye Oliver Giles.
He was C.E. Murray High School Class of 2000. He was a student at Midland Technical College, Columbia, SC. He was employed by Carolina Children's Home as a resident driver.
Mr. Giles was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a church usher.
Survivors include his mother and father of Greeleyville, SC; one brother, Mr. Kevin Giles of Columbia; two sisters, Samantha Giles of Greeleyville, SC and Vernessa Sabb of Columbia, SC; paternal grandparents, Mr. William Giles and Mary Lee Giles both of Lane, SC; maternal grandparents, Mr. Julius Oliver and Mrs. Lillie Mae Oliver both of Greeleyville, SC; uncles, Mr. William Giles, Jr. (Lois) Bronx, NY, and Mr. Morris Lee Giles (Gloria) of Kileen, TX; aunts, Mrs. Thelma Lee Walters (Richard) and Mrs. Onetha Bell of Bronx, NY, and Mrs. Rosella McClary (Tommy) of Lane, SC, Mrs. Roberta Mack (Clayton) of Fayetteville, NC, Mrs. Stiney Gardner (Johnny) of Kingstree, SC and Mrs. Jacqueline Johnson (Raymond) of Raymore, MI, a host of grand-aunts, grand-uncles, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

CHOCKLETTE, Peggy
Peggy Ann Chocklette, age 52, died Wednesday, October 10, 2001, in a Loris, SC, hospital. She was a native of Columbus County, NC and the daughter of the late Belton and Marie Ward Coleman. She was the widow of James "Jimmy" Travis Chocklette.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 13, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. in the Inman Chapel, conducted by Rev. Donald Lewis, with interment in Devotion Gardens, Mullins, SC.
She is survived by one daughter, Angelia Fowler of Loris, SC; two sons, Timmy Chocklette of Roanoke, VA, Jeffrey Chocklette of Charleston; one sister, Sherry Graham of Loris, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Wayne Coleman and sister, Little Suggs Burrows. She is survived by 4 grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at Inman Funeral Home. Arrangements by INMAN FUNERAL HOME, Tabor City, NC 28463.

CRAVEN, Dean
Dean Clark Craven, 36, of North Charleston, an employee of Dunes West, died Saturday at his home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Born in Charleston, he was the son of Burrell R. Craven and Ruth Arnold Craven. Mr. Craven was a member of Dorchester-Waylyn Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Mitch Craven of North Charleston.

Surviving are her husband of Charleston, S.C.; two sons, Michael Owen Benke and Laura, Robert David Benke and Lisa, all of Charleston, S.C,; five grandchidlren, Gretta Stanelle, Susan Irgin, David Benke, Galen Benke, all of Charleston, S.C., and Mathew Benke of Idaho; one great-grandson, Aron Irvin of Charleston, S.C.

LINDFORS, John
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of October 10, 2001, John Augustus Lindfors, husband of Bertha "Bee" Ory Lindfors. Residence, Yonges Island, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Mr. Lindfors was born in Columbia, S.C., the son of Frank M. Lindfors, Sr., and Marie Kathleen Holland Lindfors. He was a retired marine machinist with the Charleston naval shipyard. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a mason, and he was a member of Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife of Yonges Island, S.C.; his daughter, Mrs. Marie Peikert of Riverside, Calif.; one son, Christopher Lindfors of Charleston, S.C.; his daughters, Ms. Victoria Lindfors of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Ms. Elizabeth Lindfors of North Charleston, S.C., and Mrs. Margaret Berg of Albuquerque, N.M.

INFINGER, Verna
Verna Rudd Infinger of North Charleston was born July 4, 1911, in St. George, S.C., the oldest child of John Henry and Leila Infinger Rudd. She died Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at a local hospital.
She was a retired housewife and had worked as a wrapper-stretcher for the American Tobacco Company. During World War II she ran a boarding house for shipyard workers. She was first married to Roy P. Knight, then to Eugene C. Smith and later to Will S. Infinger, all deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Robert H. Knight of Chalreston, and Chaplain Heyward P. Knight of Augusta, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Knight Everts of Painted Post, N.Y.; two sisters, Hazel Hunter of Charleston and Ruth Langan of Sun City, Ariz.; two brothers, Reggie Rudd of Charleston and Grover Rudd of Hollywood, S.C.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Desma Mercer and Nellie Hill.
She originally was a member of Hampstead Square Baptist Church where she taught children and worked with the GA's and then was a Charter member of Northbridge Baptist Church, and later became a member of Remount Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Choir. She was a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for the Red Cross and had been a member of the Hanahan Senior Citizens Club and AARP.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 12, at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, at 11 a.m., at Remount Baptist Church, followed by interment at Carolina Memorial Gardens. It is suggested that donations may be made to your favorite charity in her memory.

Mrs. Hirshey was born in LeJunior, Kentucky, the daughter of Ewing King and Susie King. She was a retired antique dealer with Celia's Antiques. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Seiber of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Vivian Gelken of Columbia, S.C., and Linda Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; a step-daughter, Dr. Shirley Emin of Albuquerque, N.M., a step-son, Charles E. Hirsehy, Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Mary King of Evarts, Ky., Lillie McKendrick and Thelma Moore, both of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Louis King and Jay King, both of Kentucky; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

BAILEY, Marguerite
Marguerite Altman Bailey, widow of John Earle Bailey, entered into eternal rest on October 10, 2001. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in First Baptist Church of Charleston, 48 Meeting St., Friday, at 4 o'clock. Interment will be private in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday at 3 o'clock at 22 Water St., Charleston.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Charleston, S.C., on May 17, 1913, a daughter of John Graham Altman and Coranna Sauls Moore Altman. She worked as a volunteer for many local organizations, was a member of the Rebecca Motte Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the former Rutledge Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Memminger Normal School for Girls and the College of Charleston. Mrs. Bailey taught second grade for 22 years at First Baptist Church Day School.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Evan Chassereau (Martha) of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Mrs. Daniel Legare Warren (Mary Scott) of Ravenel, S.C., and Mrs. Victor E. Lee (Joyce) of Charleston, S.C., nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

ADAMS, Carl
Carl Leroy Adams, 62, husband of Eileen Adams, died on September 22, 2001 at his residence in North Charleston. Mr. Adams was born in California and was a US Marine Corps veteran.
Surviving, besides his wife of North Charleston are his stepmother, Harriet Adams, 14 children, 9 stepchildren and 40 grandchildren. He also leaves behind Ashley, Robert, Lana, Terry, David, Jerry, Shawn, Laura, Bud, Rev. Leroy Bowers, Betty, Steve, Mandy, Linda, Stephen, Carol Ann and Jerry Furl who are close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Holmes Avenue Baptist Church, 4602 Durant Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405 on Sunday, October 14, 2001 at 3:30 p.m.
