Surviving are father, Larry (Tony) Busha of Starr; mother, Sandra Childress Busha of the home; brother, Scott Busha of Starr; and grandparents, Betty and Al Stinemire of Anderson, Lathan "Bill" and Nan Busha of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James "Jake" and Mildred Childress.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel, Anderson, with Dr. Lewis E. Greene; entombment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Anderson. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

PELZER — James Robert ``Robbie'' Wise III, 20, of 9 Dora St., died Wednesday, May 2, 2001.
Born in Greenville, he attended Beech Springs Tabernacle.
Surviving are father, James Robert Wise Jr. of Johnson City, Tenn.; mother and stepfather, Theresa Mayes and Alan Alexander of the home; paternal grandmother, Lola Wise of Johnson City, Tenn.; paternal grandfather, James Robert Wise Sr. of Abington, Va.; maternal grandparents, Larry and Mary Garland of Greer; stepgrandparents, Sara and Johnny Alexander of W. Pelzer; sisters, Tiffany Alexander of the home, Karen Ferguson of Piedmont and Kim Adams of Indiana; and a brother, Kevin Wise of Travelers Rest.
Services are at 4 p.m. Saturday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, by the Rev. Eric Boggs; burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Whitt, Earl
Earl Whitt, 77, of 307 Keasler Road, Anderson, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, he was a retired employee at Haynesworth Mill and a U.S. Navy, World War II veteran. He was also a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church.
Surviving are widow, Hazel Seawright Whitt of the home; daughter, Joy Trotter of Anderson; brother, Ralph Whitt of Anderson; sisters, Venice Shirley of Anderson and Margaret Moore of Gastonia, N.C.; one grandchild; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was the son of the late John T. Whitt and Venice Wilhite Whitt. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Hillary, Carl, Harold, and Orbin Whitt, and one sister, Bonnie Reed.
Graveside services are at 3 p.m. Friday at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Anderson, by the Rev. Sam Chasteen. The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Vernon, Dr. Jim Sr.
PIEDMONT — Dr. William James "Jim" Vernon Sr., 80, of 1425 S.C. 26 died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Darlington County, he was reared in Cheraw. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in pharmacy, graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in the class of 1951 and practiced in Pelzer, Georgetown, and for 30 years in Piedmont, prior to his retirement in 1990. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Surviving are widow, Martha Dell Wilson Vernon of the home; daughter, Alice Nell Vernon of Watkinsville, Ga.; son, William James Vernon Jr. of Piedmont; sister, Jane Vernon Moore of Cheraw; and two grandchildren.
He was the son of the late William Bryant and Addie Goude Vernon.
Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Shiloh United Methodist Church by the Revs. Bob Norris and Ron Thomas; burial following in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

ORANGEBURG — Sherri Vironica Lynn Spann, 34, of Atlanta died Monday, April 23, 2001,rin Atlanta.
Born in Queens, N.Y., she was a graduate of South Carolina State University (BS), Clark Atlanta University (MED) and Troy State University (ED S.) She was a teacher at Gideons Elementary School, Atlanta, and was recognized as Teacher of the Year at the school in 1998-99. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Atlanta, and the Voice of Atlanta and Mystique singing groups.
Suriving are parents, James and Sandye Spann of Orangeburg; and brother, Phillip Spann.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Robert L. and Carrie L. Austin of Liberty.
Services were held on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Antioch Baptist Church. Final services were held on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Orangeburg; interment in Belleville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

TOCCOA, Ga. — Charles Edwin "Edd" Payne, 74, of 129 Midget Drive died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Lanier Park Hospital, Gainesville.
Born in Franklin County, he lived most of his life in Stephens County. He was a retired electrician from Vermont American and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Toms Creek Baptist Church, the Master Garden and was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
Surviving are widow, Helen Howe Addison Payne of the home; stepson, Mark Addison of Toccoa; stepdaughter, Renee A. Myers of Gainesville; brothers, Howard Payne of Martin, Ewell Payne of Springfield, Va., Delon Payne of Washington, and Dessau Payne of Falls Church, Va.; sisters, Betty Love and Carolyn Day, both of Arlington, Va.; and three grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Charles and Ouida McFarlin Payne and was preceded in death by a brother, Hershel Payne.
Services are at 3 p.m. Thursday from the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary, Toccoa, by the Revs. Bill Evans and Wayne Marcus; burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens. The body is at the mortuary, where the family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Born in Anderson, he was a graduate of Palmetto High School and played varsity football. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

A native of Anderson County, she was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens, Piedmont Plant and a member of Gutherie Grove Church of God of Abrahamic Faith.
Surviving are daughter, Elizabeth Allison Sims of Williamston; son, Floyd "Jack" Mills of Lyman; brother, Louie Hammond of Pelzer; sister, Hazel Gillespie of Liberty; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Robert Sloan and the daughter of the late William and Emma Brewer Hammond.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Church of God of Abrahamic Faith, Pelzer, by the Revs. Alan Cain and Richard Smith; burial will be in Gutherie Grove Church of God of Abrahamic Faith cemetery. HARTWELL, Ga. — Curtis Martin, 94, of 883 Fairview Ave. died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Hart County Hospital.
Born in Hart County, he was retired from Hartwell Mills as an inspector. He was a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church, former treasurer at church, member of the building committee and member of the men's Sunday school class.
Surviving are daughter, Betty Jane Brown of Hartwell; brother, Ralph Martin of Hartwell; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was the widower of Cleo Sanders Martin and the son of the late Samuel Martin and Alice Shiflet Martin. He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Martin.

SENECA — Ray Long, 77, of 9 Humbert St. died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at the Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Westminster, he was a retired brick mason, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, served during World War II, on Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands and Japan.
Surviving are widower, Margaret Jeanette Cox Long of the home; sons, Tony Ray Long of Liberty, Steven Long and Timothy Long, both of Seneca; brother, Earl Long of Pendleton; sisters, Dovie Lee Morton of Anderson, Louise Stancil of Iva, Rosa Lee Jenkins, Pearl Goss and Audrey Mae James, all of Seneca; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Kytle and Nancy Margaret Suttles Long. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Grady and Conrad Long.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at the East Main Street Church of God by the Revs. Marvin Lee and Harrison Steege; burial will follow in the Oconee Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home, Seneca.

BOWMAN, Ga. — Margaret Louise Dickerson Jordan, 71, a resident of Hart Care Center, Hartwell, formerly of Bowman, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in the Hart County Hospital.
A native of Elbert County, she was a retired seamstress for Rogain Industries and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving are son, Paul Jordan of Elberton; daughters, Rita Cash of Carnesville and Margie Wilkins of Elberton; brothers, Carl Dickerson and Sammy Dickerson, both of Elberton; sisters, Nita Nash of Norcross, Miriam Stephens of Marietta, Anna Turner, Jackie Thompson and Mary Ann Jones, all of Elberton, and Lavonia Turner of Carlton; and six grandchildren.
She was the widow of Ralph Jordan and the daughter of the late Bodie and Vanna Beggs Dickerson. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Jordan; a sister, Opal Dickerson; and a brother, Ed Dickerson.
Services are at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Faith Baptist Church by the Revs. David Coker and Kenneth Hendrix; burial will be in the church cemetery. The body, now at the Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton, will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Saturday until the hour of the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
