RHODES, Edrie
Edrie Sease Rhodes, of Ehrhardt, S.C., wife of Milton T. Rhodes, Sr., died October 16, 2001, at 5:40 p.m. in a Bamberg County hospital.
Born on October 7, 1918, in Ehrhardt, S.C., she was the daughter of the late George Probst Sease and the late Minnie Fender Sease. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, Ehrhardt, S.C. She was a housewife and enjoyed gardening and was active at her church.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 19, 2001, 2 p.m., in St. James United Methodist Church, Ehrhardt, S.C. Burial in the Ehrhardt Cemetery conducted by Rev. Kathy Griffin.
Survivors include, one son, Milton T. Rhodes, Jr., Bamberg, S.C.; one daughter, Elizabeth Buist, Greenwood, S.C.; two sisters, Ester Kearse, Ulmer, S.C.; Virl Bruner, Summerton, S.C.; one grandchild, Justin Buist, Greenwood, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

ORANGEBURG - Thelma W. Workman, 74, died Wednesday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, at THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL in Orangeburg, with burial at 4 p.m., Saturday, at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, S.C.
Survivors include, two sisters, Ruth Drake, Lois Amaker, both of Goose Creek, S.C.; a step-son, Richard Workman of Lexington; a step-daughter, Sandra Boletchek of Virginia; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

WILLIAMS, Deatris
The funeral for Mrs. Deatris "Dee Dee" Floyd Williams, 41, of 2870 Glouster St., North Charleston, S.C., formerly of North, S.C., will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2001, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Woodford, S.C., with the Rev. N.A. McNeal officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Williams died Monday, October 15, 2001.
She was a daughter of the late Adam Floyd and Mrs. Carrie Martino Floyd.
Survivors include her husband, Zachary Williams of the home; a daughter, Cherisha K. Floyd of the home; a step-son, Maurice Williams of Williamstown, N.J.; one brother, Freddie Martino of North, S.C.; three sisters, Dianne Floyd and Jacqueline Floyd, both of Orangeburg, S.C., and Deborah McCollom-Baylor, of Atlanta, Ga.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2001, 6 to 9 p.m., at W.B. Crumel Funeral Home of North, S.C.

William Henry Morris, 94, formerly of Augusta, Ga., died October 13, 2001, at the Franke Home of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

TRIPP, Kenneth
RUFFIN - Mr. Kenneth Harold Tripp, 61, of 11343 Lowcountry Highway died Tuesday at a Walterboro hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, at Faith Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Smoak Cemetery. Directed by the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.
Mr. Tripp was born in Vanceboro, N.C., a son of the late Lee Drew Tripp and Tiny Wiggins Tripp. He was a farmer and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Smoak Tripp, a daughter, Wanda Tripp Nixon of Walterboro and her husband, James Grey Nixon, two brothers, Marvin Tripp and Dink Tripp, both of Ruffin, and two sisters, Joyce Brantly of Goldsboro, N.C., and Sudie Hudson of Grifton, N.C.
MCEACHIN, Margaret
FLORENCE - Margaret Howard McEachin died at her home early Tuesday morning, October 16, 2001. She was in her hundreth year. She was born in her parent's home at Claussen, South Carolina, the daughter of Fitz Lee Howard and Louisa Penn Ervin Howard. She was the widow of Peter Hector McEachin. One child was born of this union, Daniel Malloy McEachin.
After academic preparation at Flora McDonald, she entered Converse College and graduated in 1923. At the conclusion of her education, she spent her long and productive life in Florence, South Carolina. She taught school in Claussen, South Carolina, until her marriage in 1924.
She was an avid outdoorswoman whose passion was gardening. She was a member of the City of Florence Park Commission. She, along with Frank Key, Sr., was instrumental in the construction and care of Lucas Park. She cultivated and propagated camellias. She was a Master Gardner.
She was the oldest member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She organized the St. John's Episcopal Church Plant Bazaar and was active in the Women of the Church.
She was a member of the Renaissance Literary Club. She was also a member of the Plain Dirt Garden Club and the Iris Garden Club. She was a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America.
In addition to her son of Florence, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth E. McEachin; her sister, Amelia H. Anthony of Hartsville, S.C.; her granddaughter, Margaret M. Gates (Dennis) of Oregonia, Ohio; her grandson, Daniel Malloy McEachin, Jr. (Amy) of Florence; her great-grandchildren, Samuel G. Gates of Oregonia, OH, FitzLee H. McEachin, Peter H. McEachin, Amy E. McEachin and Daniel Malloy McEachin, III, all of Florence.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Charles D. Cooper at St. John's Episcopal Church in Florence, SC, at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2001, directed by WATERS-POWELL FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Daniel M. McEachin.

THOMPSON, David
David Eggleston Thompson, 79, of North Charleston died Wednesday morning, October 17, 2001, at his home. The funeral service will be 1 o'clock p.m., Friday, October 19, 2001, in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call this evening (Thursday) from 6 until 8 p.m., at Stuhr's Greenridge Road Chapel.
A native of Mobile, Ala., he was the son of David B. and Marie Eggleston Thompson. A graduate of Charleston High School, he served with the famous Flying Tigers in Burma, China, and India as an aerial photographer. After the war, he attended the Citadel. He worked for AT&T/Western Electric as an installer, retiring after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the First Southern Methodist Church of North Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Minnetta Covert Thompson; his son, Paul D. Thompson of Mt. Pleasant; his brother and sister-in-law, George E. and Rebecca Thompson of Hurst, Texas; and his sisters and brother-in-law, Ann and William L. Ahls of Marietta, Ga.

Lillie Wenningham Dangerfield, 92, of Moncks Corner, SC, a former lunchroom attendant for the Berkeley County School System, died Tuesday in a Charleston hospital.

Mrs. Dangerfield was born Sept. 15, 1909, in Moncks Corner, SC, a daughter of James Waring Wenningham and Ada Jackson Wenningham. She was the widow of Neal Dangerfield. She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald Lewis Thrush, II.
Surviving are, one son, Kenneth Dangerfield of Moncks Corner, one daughter, Helen Michaels of Charleston, and two grandchildren, Rande Craig Thrush and Harold Reid Thrush, and one great grandchild, Adam Neal Thrush.

Kate Mims Barry, 91, of St. Stephen, SC, died Tuesday at her residence.

Mrs. Barry was born September 23, 1910, in Moncks Corner, SC, a daughter of James W. Mims and Hattie Ballentine Mims. She along with her husband owned and operated Barry's Department Store in St. Stephen. She is the widow of James J. Barry, Sr. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Bonneau. She attended Winthrop College. She was preceded in death by a sister, Zeda Mims Morgan, and a brother, Dr. J. Lloyd Mims.
Surviving are, one daughter, Kay B. Veach of Goose Creek, one son, James J. Barry, Jr., of Pinopolis; one brother, Dr. Harry W. Mims of Charleston; four grandchildren, Katherine Barry, Charlotte Barry, Jamie Barry, and Hank Veach; and her caregivers, LaQuetta White, Rachel Brown, Louise Dingle, and Leola Haigler.

Frances Thomas Kinard, 73, of Macedonia, SC, a retired production worker for C.R. Bard, died Monday in a North Charleston hospital.
