Harrison, Justin

WILLIAMSTON — Justin Craig Harrison, 21, of 14 Thomas Circle died Wednesday, May 2, 2001.
Born in Anderson County, he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Surviving are parents, Tommy and Brenda Blount Harrison of the home; sister, Christie Harrison Greer of Williamston; paternal grandmother, Nora Harrison of Pelzer; and maternal grandmother, Kate Blount of North Charleston.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at the Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, with Dr. Jim Norris and the Rev. Alton Midgett; burial following in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family is at the home.

The family suggests memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 238, Williamston, S.C. 29697.

Godfrey, 'PaPa Jim'

MARTIN, Ga. — James Robert "PaPa Jim'' Godfrey, 73, of Landrum Drive died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at his residence.
Born in Mauldin, he was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the Navy.

Surviving Edna N. Godfrey of the home; daughters, Sandra Pedersen, Sheila Holcomb and Laurie Welshans, all of Martin; son, James Edward Godfrey of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Edna McGee of South Carolina; brother, Pastor Earl Godfrey of Bastic, N.C.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was the son of the late Martin and Alma Suttles Godfrey and was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Leopard.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hamby Funeral Home chapel, Lavonia, with Pastor Earl Godfrey; entombment will follow at the Franklin Memorial Gardens, North. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family will be at Landrum Drive, Martin.

Ensley, Margie

PELZER — Margie Campbell Ensley, 85, of 124 Walker Hill Road, formerly of Newport News, Va., died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at her home.
Born in Murphy, N.C., she was a Baptist.

Surviving are daughter, Penny Shular of the home; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of William Fred Ensley and the daughter of the late Rufus E. and Tiney Webb Campbell. She was preceded in death by a son, David S. Ensley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, Va.

Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, is in charge of arrangements.

Crider, Sara

DANIELSVILLE, Ga. — Sara Lee Jones Crider, 73, of 369 Faye Carey Road died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at her home.
A native of Swainsboro, she was a homemaker and a member of the Rock Branch Baptist Church.

Surviving are sons, Olin Chester Maxwell of Harrisonville, Pa., and John David Jones of Canon; daughters, Emily Ruth Rauton of Iva, S.C., and Tracey Vee Lord of Danielsville; brothers, Clinton Brown of Taylors, S.C., J.B. Brown of Greenwood, S.C., Lindsey Brown of Pendleton, S.C., and Tommy Brown of Danielsville; sisters, Geneva Hughey of Mauldin, S.C., and Doris Spears of Hartwell; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Charles Crider and the daughter of the late John Butler and Annie Ruth Cordell Brown. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Olin Clark Jones.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of the Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton, by the Revs. Leon Suttles and Ed Sayer; burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

The family is at the residence, 369 Faye Carey Road, Danielsville, Ga.

Cave, Kathryn

DEMOREST, Ga. — Kathryn Ellison Cave, 77, of Demorest died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at St. Josephs Hospital, Atlanta.
Born in Waynesboro, she was a retired school teacher having taught at Demorest Elementary School and she was also a librarian at the Northeast Georgia Regional Library. She was a member of the Demorest Women's Club, Habersham Art Council and Habersham PTA Council. She served as voter registrar for Habersham County and also a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW Post No. 7720. She was a member of the Demorest Federated Church.

Surviving are daughters, Kathy Baker and Jana Hickerson, both of Jonesboro; son, Neal Cave of Atlanta; and three grandchildren.

She was the widow of Leon O'Neal Cave and the daughter of the late Robert J. and Jessie Hillis Ellison.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at the Demorest Federated Church with Dr. John Bridges; burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The body is at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Flowers are optional. The family suggests memorials be made to the Coach Cave Memorial Scholarship Fund of Piedmont College, P.O. Box 10, Demorest, Ga. 30535 or to the Demorest Federated Church, GA Ave., Demorest, Ga. 30535, or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 725, Cornelia, A. 30531.

Brown, Shelby

Shelby Jean Stille Brown, 64, of 3002 Burson Road died Monday, April 30, 2001, in Beverly Healthcare, Asheville, N.C.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Woodlawn Funeral Home, Anderson.

Payne, Charles

TOCCOA, Ga. - Charles Edwin "Edd" Payne, 74, husband of Helen Howe Payne, of 129 Midget Drive, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Lanier Park Hospital, Gainesville.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Whitlock Mortuary, Toccoa.

McCrary, Geneva Janebelle Crooks

Geneva McCrary, 88, of 200 Ora Lane, Anderson, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Oconee County, she was retired from the textile industry, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Westminster.

Surviving are sons, Dewitt Paul McCrary of Anderson, and Johnny Felton McCrary; daughter, Lou Ellen McCrary Martin of California; brother, Paul S. "Vester" Crooks Jr. of Seneca; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Glenn Louis McCrary and the daughter of the late Paul Sylvester and Frances Eugene Pitts Crooks. She was preceded in death by a son, Louis Clayton McCrary; four brothers, Felton Crooks, Warren Crooks, Christopher Crooks, and Clayton Crooks; two sisters, Radie C. Ellis and Rosa Lee Griffith; and one grandchild.

Services are at 4 p.m. Wednesday from the chapel of Seneca Mortuary by the Rev. John C. McKnight Sr.; interment will be in Oconee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, prior to service.

Long, Ray

SENECA - Ray Long, of 9 Humbert St., died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home, Seneca.

Teasley, Sara

Sara Ware Teasley died Monday, April 30, 2001.
She was retired from Davidson Department Store and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are son, Bobby Teasley of Commerce, Ga.; daughter, Nancy T. King of Lawrenceville, Ga.; brother, George W. Ware of Toccoa, Ga.; sisters, Betty W. Ivey of North Augusta, S.C., and Dorothy W. Walker of Clarkesville, Ga.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bill Berry; interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. The body will be placed at the church one hour prior to service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be made to First Methodist Church, Commerce, Ga., or St. Luke United Methodist Church, Augusta, Ga., or to First Baptist Church of North Augusta, North Augusta, S.C.

Thomas L. King Funeral Home, Martinez, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Tabor, Russell

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Russell Woodrow Tabor, 87, of Pacific Palisades died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
He was retired from Hughes Aircraft Company of Los Angeles as an inspector. He was also a member of the First Christian Church, Santa Monica, Calif.

Surviving are widow, Lily Hinton Tabor of the home; sons, Charles "Bud" Tabor of Anderson, William R. Tabor of Seattle and Douglas L. Tabor of Big Bear Lake, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was the son of the late William Bradley Tabor and Mertie Swingle Tabor. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica.

The family will be at Pacific Palisades.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 706 Grove Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605.

Stoyle, Bill

HARTWELL, Ga. - William "Bill" Stoyle, 84, of 614 Pierce Brown Road died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Hart County Hospital.
Born in Madison County, he was retired from Jackson County Detention Center as a guard. He was a member of Peace Officers Association and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are widow, Geneva Bennett Robertson Stoyle of the home; son, Charles Stoyle of Augusta; stepson, Heyward Robertson of Georgia; sisters, Sara Dudley of Dalton, N.H., Isabel Stoyle of Danielsville and Jimmie Cary of Royston; and brother, Edwin Stoyle of Danielsville.

He was the son of the late Edward C. Stoyle and Elizabeth Gober Stoyle. He was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Stoyle; two sisters, Kathleen Wolfer and Marilyn Jordan; and two brothers, Bob Stoyle and Gerald Stoyle.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell, by the Rev. Michael Hudman; burial will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Danielsville. The body is at the funeral home, where the family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

The family is at the home.

Sain, Helen

Helen Grant Sain, 77, of 403 Windward Way, Anderson, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Ellenburg Nursing Center.
Born in Stony Point, N.C., she was a retired telephone operator with Southern Bell. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Surviving are widower, Charles Nolan Sain of the home; son, Timothy Charles Sain of Jasper, Ga.; stepbrother, Frank Smith of Anderson; and stepsister, Ruth Withers of China Grove, N.C.

She was the daughter of the late E.G. Grant and Betty Boney Grant.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carolina Memorial Park, Concord, N.C. The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

McCrary, Geneva Janebelle Crooks

Geneva McCrary, 88, of 200 Ora Lane, Anderson, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Oconee County, she was retired from the textile industry and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Westminster.
