Born in Anderson County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Holiness Church.
Surviving are sisters, Ethel Garvin of Clemson and Bessie McGee, Fannie Willims and Susie McGee, all of Salisbury, N.C.
She was the widow of Roy Jones and the daughter of the late Kate and Letter McGee.
Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Zion Holiness Church, Clemson. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The family is at the home of a sister, Mrs. Ethel Garvin and Elder Williams Garvin, 128 Curtis Circle, Clemson.

Hefner, Elitha Valaris
Elitha Valaris Hefner, 76, of 109 Willowood Lane, Anderson, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Ellenburg Nursing Center.
Born in Albermarle, N.C., she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are widower, William D. Hefner of the home; daughter, Wanda Kay Farrow of Anderson; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late William Titus Smith and Ada Smith. She was preceded in death by two sons, Deryl and Sonny Hefner; a daughter, Sherly Hefner; four brothers, Warren, Curtis, Craven and Beecham Smith; and a sister, Victoria Smith Bailey.
Services are at 4 p.m. Wednesday at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel, Anderson, by the Rev. John M. Daniel; burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Wanda Kay Farrow, 312 Renee Way, Anderson.
Harvey, Marie
SENECA - Marie Frances Harvey, 80, of Seneca died Monday, April 30, 2001, at the Mariner Health Care, Seneca.
Born in Seneca, she was retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are brother, Paul Harvey of Seneca.
She was the daughter of the late Clifton McKinley and Emma Graham Harvey. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Harvey.
Graveside services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Oconee Memorial Park by the Rev. Cecil Loftis.

Garrett, Luther Eldridge 'Elgie'
Luther Eldridge Garrett, 84, of 120 Country Garden Lane, Anderson, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Madison County, he was a retired textile employee of J.P. Stevens-Appleton Plant. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are widow, Sara Adams Garrett of the home; son, Robert W. Garrett of Anderson; daughter, Betty Jo G. Bowen of Anderson; brothers, Bill Garrett of Commerce, Charles Garret of Homer, and Swayne Garrett of Gainesville; sister, Frances Nation of Homer; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Luther R. Garrett and Pearl Davis Garrett.
Services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel, Anderson, with Mr. Bob Burriss; burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The family will be at the residence, 120 Country Garden Lane, Anderson.
Boggs, Edward
DALLAS, Ga. - Edward Earl Boggs, 92, of Mountain Rest, S.C., died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Paulding Wellstar Hospital, Dallas.
A native of Oconee County, he was a carpenter and a member of Mountain Rest Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon.
Surviving are son, Thomas E. Boggs; sister, Ressie Land; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Oconee Memorial Park.

Goodwyn, Harold
Harold E. Goodwyn, 70, of 1213 Bolt Drive, Anderson, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Prince George County, Va., he was educated in Virginia. He was a member of Asbury Memorial Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army, and was with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years.
Surviving are widow, Gladys Willis Goodwyn of the home; daughter, Adrienne K. Goodwyn of South Carolina; and two grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Thaddeus and Wilmina Ferdinad Willis.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Asbury Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Jarvis Brown, assisted by Minister Dil and Minister Merri Weather; interment in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Gillis, Axel
Richard Axel Gillis, 21, of 106 Cherokee Circle, Anderson, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, he was a graduate of T.L. Hanna High School, Anderson, and was a Junior at Clemson University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Surviving are his parents, Michael B. and Sara Ann Wright Gillis of the home; sisters, Haley, Katherine and Rachael Gillis of the home; and grandparents, Boyd C. and Sally Gillis of Raleigh, N.C.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Joe and Sarah Wright Jr.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Concord Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Marcaurelle and Joseph G. Wright, IV; burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

PENDLETON - Rosa Ella Robinson Fruster, of 905 Belmina St. died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, she was a member of Kings Chapel AME Church.
Surviving are widower, Lenard Fruster of the home; daughters, Kathy Frutster of Decatur, Ga., Denise and Carolyn Fruster, both of the home; sons, Ray Fruster of Pendleton, Gary Fruster of Clemson and Jerry Fruster of Anderson; sister, Anna Gantt of Pendleton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was the daughter of the late Willie and Carrie Keasley Robinson. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Robinson.
Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at New Holly Light Baptist Church; interment will be in New Holly Springs Cemetery, Pendleton. No wake is planned. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Sharon Elizabeth Spriggs Butler, 49, of 1209 W. Market St., Anderson, died Friday, April 27, 2001, in Pendleton.
Born in Baltimore, she was a retired dental assistant and a member of King David Baptist Church.
Surviving are widower, Larry F. Butler of the home; sons, Jihad Nicholson and Kashef White of Pendleton; daughter, Brea Robinson of Anderson; mother, Frances Hunter Spriggs of Pendleton; father, James C. Spriggs of Baltimore; sister, Marguerite White of Clemson; maternal grandmother, Eunice Williams of Pendleton; and one grandchild.
Services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the New Hope Baptist Church, Clemson, by the Rev. Johnny Goldsmith; burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

TOCCOA, Ga. - Merle Broome Brown, 92, of 191 Fowler Town Road died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Toccoa Nursing Center.
Born in White County, she lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was a homemaker and a member of Toccoa Church of God.
Surviving are daughters, Christine Sutton of Eastanollee, Lois Nunnally of Martin, Linda Bell of Royston and Barbara Brown of Athens; sons, Ernest Brown of Lavonia, Vernon Brown of Toccoa and Doc Brown of Atlanta; brother, Wilson Broome of Baldwin; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Lester Brown and the son of the late Skid and Fannie Simmons Broome. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pearline Jones; and a son, Lewis Brown.
Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary, Toccoa; burial will follow at Zebulon Baptist Church cemetery. The body is at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Tucker, Tommy
ELBERTON, Ga. - Tommy Herman Tucker, 43, of 408 Heard St. died Friday, April 20, 2001, at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Augusta.
Born in Elbert County, he was an automobile parts dealer.
Surviving are father, Benjamin B. Tucker of Elberton; widow, Karen Booth Tucker of the home; son, Thomas Eugene Tucker of Elberton; brothers, Eugene F. Tucker of Calhoun Falls and Daniel E. Tucker of Elberton; sisters, Louise T. Black of Elberton, Christine Massey of Belleview, Fla., and Judy Nutt of Lawrenceville.
He was the son of the late Sarah Ellenburg Tucker. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Ronald Adams Jr.
Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hicks Funeral Home by Pastor Bill Eaton; burial will be Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
