Donna M. Fender Ferguson, age 55, died on November 4, 2001. She was born in Kearny, Neb., raised in Bamberg, S.C., she resided the past 24 years in Newark, Del., previously she resided in Victoria, Texas.A homemaker, she ran a daycare in her home in her earlier years. She was a graduate of Bamberg High School in Bamberg, S.C. She received her BA in music at North Greenville Junior College. Afterwards, she attended Carson-Newman College where she continued to major in music.Devoted to her church, she was a Charter member at the Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church for 14 years, beginning when the church was formed in 1987. She taught women's bible study and also taught the youth group with her husband. She was heavily involved in the White House Conference on Families in 1978 and 1979 and the Stop ERA movement and received the Eagle Forum Award for her work. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, and was an avid music lover. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, and was an avid music lover. She enjoyed spending time with her family including her grandchildren and decorating her home with country memorabilia and crafts.Beloved wife of Douglas J. Ferguson, devoted mother of Kimberly I. Creek, Kerrie Ferguson-Willey and Chuck E. Ferguson. Also survived by her parents, Wilton and Anne Holliday Fender; a brother, Jerry Fender; and will be missed sadly by her six grandchildren, Matthew, Wesley, Elisabeth, Markie, Molly and Emma Marie, and a niece, Mary Beth Fender, who is the daughter of her deceased mother, Mark Fender who died in 1988. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.A Memorial Service was conducted Friday at 7 p.m., at Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church, Rt. 896 Bear, Delaware.
