CRAWFORD, Rosa
Rosa Jordan Crawford, 87, of Bonneau, died Sunday at her residence.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, at Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Crawford was born April 26, 1914, in Montgomery County, North Carolina, a daughter of William Preston Jordan and Martha Brown Jordan. She was a member of Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the widow of Paul James Crawford.
Surviving are seven daughters, Jaunita Cross of Cross; Violet Crawford of Charleston; Linda Ballard of Lebanon, Ky.; Joyce Wren of Moncks Corner; Bonnie Schwartz of Goose Creek; Miriam Weber of Summerville; Debbie McPherson of Beaver Dam; three sons, James Crawford of Charleston; Leon Crawford and Edward Crawford both of Bonneau; two sisters, Myrtle Causey of McFarland, N.C.; Mary Cook of Rockingham, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.

DAVIS, Mary
WALTERBORO - Mrs. Mary Ruth Frazier Jennings Davis, 67, of 1543 Keegan Drive, died Friday at a Walterboro hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, at the Chapel of Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Randy McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Ashley Frazier and Lori Bazzle Frazier. She was a member of the Holiness Tabernacle in Walterboro, and was first married to the late Virgil Jennings.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Davis, a son, Jim Jennings of Hampton, daughters, Ruth Smyly and Linda Kay Fletcher, both of Walterboro, a brother, Ashley Frazier, Jr., of Walterboro, sisters, Helen Jennings, Lorene Keegan, Gloria Fletcher, Lucile James, and Diane Jones, all of Walterboro and Sue Smith of Smoaks, 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

BAILEY, David
CANADYS - David E. Bailey, 96, died Sunday at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Canadys First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Joe Marchant. Interment with full Masonic Rites will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.
Mr. Bailey was born April 19, 1905, in Canadys, a son of the late Samuel Bailey and Beulah Langdale Bailey. He was a member, deacon and former Sunday school teacher of Canadys First Baptist Church, member of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #338 and former magistrate of Colleton County. He was retired from the Army Transportation Depot in Charleston and had served in the U.S. Army. He was married twice, first to the late Maggie Wannamaker Bailey and secondly to Ruth Jones Bailey.
Surviving are, his wife of Canadys, a daughter, Patsy B. Chambers of Canadys, five brothers, J. Parker Bailey and Lawrence Bailey, both of Canadys, Jerry D. Bailey of Walterboro, Roland Bailey of Columbia, and Reginald Bailey of Branchville, two sisters, Beaulah Gatch of Columbia and Rachel Coe of Canadys, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, David E. Bailey, Jr., and Bobby M. Bailey.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m., at the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.
DIETZMAN, Arno
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of November 11, 2001, Arno Dietzman, husband of Florence E. Hanks Dietzman. Residence, North Charleston, S.C.
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Arno Dietzman are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial of the former in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Thursday morning, November 15, 2001, at 10 o'clock. The Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be held at a later date in Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien, Conn.
Mr. Dietzman was born May 18, 1916, in Stamford, Conn., at son of the late Richard and Katherine Peterson Dietzman. He was retired from the Teamsters, Local #443 in trucking and a member of Darien Yacht Club, Darien, Conn.
Surviving are his wife of North Charleston, S.C., son, Arno Dietzman, Jr., and daughter, Jerry Iorio, both of California; two step-daughters, Peggy Hanson of Hanahan, S.C., and Dorothy Harvey of Stamford, Conn., and a step-son, Michael Robushi of Hanahan, S.C., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

PATAT, Rev. St.John E.
Rev. St. John Edward Patat, 89, of Charleston, a Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Charleston, died Saturday, November 10, 2001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2001 in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The Rite of Committal will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Vigil Service will be held, 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, also in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The family will receive visitors following the Vigil Service until 9:00 p.m.
Father Patat was born on Wednesday, April 17, 1912 in Charleston, SC the son of Leon Philip and Rosa O'Mara Patat. He graduated from Charleston High School, St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, MD and received his Graduate degrees in History and Theology from Catholic University in Washington, DC. He was ordained a Priest of the Dioceses of Charleston at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, May 24, 1942, and celebrated his First Solemn Mass on May 30, 1942 at the Cathedral. In his over 49 years as a priest, Fr. Patat served as associate pastor of St. Patrick's Church in Charleston and St. Anne Church in Sumter. He served as pastor of St. Joseph Church (Anson St.) Charleston, St. Joseph Church in Anderson, St. Mary Church on Yonges Island, Divine Redeemer Church in Hanahan, Blessed Sacrament Church in Charleston and St. John Church in North Charleston. Fr. Patat taught on the faculty of St. Angela Academy in Aiken and Bishop England High School where he also served as the vice rector. He was Chaplain to the Citadel Newman Club, a member of the Diocese of Charleston Liturgical Commission, Moderator of the Theological Conference Committee, Chaplain to the scouting program and Friar to the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, moderator for the Charleston Deanery, Council of Catholic Women. Fr. Patat retired from active ministry on April 8, 1987, but remained active as a priest until his death. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Leon P. Patat, Jr. of Charleston; a nephew, Leon P. Patat, III of Charleston; 3 nieces, Nancy P. Shannon of Gastonia, NC, Mrs. Robert S. Cathcart, III of Charleston and Lucia P. Young of Maine; grand-nieces and grand-nephews. BARBER, Caroline
COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Caroline Dill Barber, 17, will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, Wheat Street. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society, St. John's Episcopal Church or to the charity of one's choice. The family will be at the home, 20 Mahalo Lane. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is in charge.
Miss Barber died Saturday, November 10, 2001. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the Honorable James R. Barber, III and Susan Foster Barber. She was a senior at A.C. Flora High School where she was active in the theater department, served on Student Council, was a member of Key Club, Young Life and played soccer.
Miss Barber was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a counselor at Camp Gravatt. She also did volunteer work.
Miss Barber had a creative and adventuresome spirit with a very kind soul. She had a deep love for animals.
Surviving are her parents of Columbia; sisters, Anna Rutherford Barber and Susan Rezner Barber, both of the home and the family pet, Josie; paternal grandmother, Barbara Dill Barber of Columbia; maternal grandmother, Jeanne Simons Pitcher of Churchville, Va.; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. H. Joseph Lawler (Diane), Mr. and Mrs. David R. Barber (Diane), Dr. and Mrs. Wm. Byron Barber (Henrietta), Mrs. Susan B. Hipp, Mr. and Mrs. Thaddeus D. Barber (Shadie), Mr. and Mrs. Tobias G. Ward, Jr. (Elizabeth), Mr. T. Russell Foster, III, Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Foster (Amy), Mr. and Mrs. Lars Reising (Keitt), Mr. and Mrs. Peter W. Kuyper, Jr. (Jeanne); and many cousins. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, James R. Barber, Jr. and maternal step-grandfather, Charles Scholey Pitcher.

COPE - Hilda Bernice Gibson Ott, 73, died Saturday at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Nesbeth Mendel Ott of Cope; two daughters, Mrs. W.T. (Beverly) McPherson and Mrs. Randall (Janet) Miller both of Cope; sister, Mrs. Gene (Ernestine) Shealey of Aiken; sister-in-law, Mrs. Bower S. Gibson of Holly Hill; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Grant, a native of Walterboro, S.C. was an Episcopalian and a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He was a retired machinist with Dupont and TRW and Hayes Mechanical Construction Company.
