Burge, Victoria Acker

AIKEN - Victoria Acker Burge, 52, of Aiken died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at her daughter's residence.
Born in Charlotte, she had lived in Aiken until five years ago when she moved to Anderson. She moved back to Aiken last month. She was a retired school bus driver for the Aiken County schools and had also worked at the Aiken Wal-Mart. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church, Anderson.

Surviving are sons, Tracy Lyn Burge of Kingston Springs, Tenn., Stacy Wayne Burge of Wagener and Timothy Eugene Burge of Aiken; daughter, Christina Jackson of Aiken; mother, Velma C. Acker Killian of Charlotte; brothers, Michael "Mickey" Acker, Thomas Acker and Franky Acker, all of Charlotte; sister, Joy Hoffstettler of Charlotte; and three grandchildren.

She was the widow of Lowell T. Burge.

A memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., Aiken, S.C. 29801, by the Rev. Brent Armstrong.

Craig, William Henry

Craig, William Henry "Billy," services are at 3 p.m. today at Cheohee Baptist Church, 116 Abbey St., Westminster, by the Revs. Hubert Cuyler, Sidney Davis and William Richardson. Gilbert Funeral Parlor is in charge of arrangements.

Bartlett, William D.

Bartlett, William D. "Bill," 70, of 147 Race St., Hartwell, Ga., services are at 10 a.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home by the Rev. Herbert Sommerlin; burial will be in Sardis Baptist Church cemetery. The family is at the home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Foundation Fund, P.O. Box 746, Hartwell, Ga. 30643.

Donald, Furman C.

TOWNVILLE - Furman Clayton Donald, 72, husband of Lottie Shirley Donald, formerly of Townville, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Richard M. Campbell Nursing Home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Bolt Sr., James E.

James Edward Bolt Sr., 84, of the New Prospect Community died Friday, April 20, 2001, at his home.
Born in Anderson, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was the retired owner of Creamer & Bolt Super Market. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Surviving are son, James E. "Jimmy" Bolt Jr. of Anderson; daughters, Linda Bolt of Anderson and Frances Hartlage of Anderson; brother, B.C. Bolt of Greenville; sister, Annie Belle Evans of Anderson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was the widower of Emma Lou Hayes Bolt and the son of the late Noah Bolt Sr. and Eleanor Creamer Bolt. He was preceded in death by a brother, Noah Bolt Jr.; and a sister, Louise Hayes.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Prospect Baptist Church cemetery by Dr. L.E. Greene. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, downtown chapel, 401 N. Main St., Anderson.

The family is at the home of a daughter, Frances Hartlage, 801 Chantill Lane, Anderson.

Beatriz, Jose

WESTMINSTER - Jose Jesus Beatriz, 22, of 135 Hayfield Road died Friday, April 20, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital, Greenville.
Born in Mexico, he was a skilled construction employee with Thrift Brothers and was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Walhalla.

Surviving are parents, Ezeruiel and Rita Beatriz of Westminster; brothers, Ismael and Juan Beatriz, both of Westminster; sister, Carmen Beatriz of Westminster; and grandparents, Luz and Ricardo Beatriz of Westminster.

Services are at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Walhalla, by Father Augustus McGuire; burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens.

The body is at the home of his parents, 144 Hayfield Road, Westminster, where they family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Sandifer Funeral Home, Westminster, is in charge of arrangements.

Argo, Ida

ABBEVILLE - Ida Cox Argo, 93, of 100 Langley St. died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at her home.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a retired textile employee with Abbeville Mills and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving are widower, Cox Henry Argo of the home; brothers, Wallace Cox and Pat Cox, both of Abbeville; and a sister, Blanche C. Ferguson of Due West.

She was the daughter of the late Jim and Effie Smith Cox.

Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Harris Funeral Home; burial will be in Melrose Cemetery.

The family is at the home.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Piedmont Agency on Aging, Meals on Wheels, Senior Center, P.O. Box 117, Abbeville, S.C. 29620.

Bikas, Penelope George

ANDERSON - Penelope George Alexiou Bikas, 71, of 2307 Poplar Lane, widow of Thomas George Bikas, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at her home.
Born in Tristeno, Greece, she was the daughter of the late George and Alexandra Alexiou. She was a homemaker and a member of St. George Creek Orthodox Cathedral, Greenville.

Surviving are her son, George Thomas Bikas and his wife, Tula Bikas of Anderson; daughter, Theodora Bikas Brown and her husband, Aaron Brown, Jr. of Anderson; grandchildren, Sam Nikopoulos, Thomas George Bikas and Penelope George Bikas; sisters, Katherine Karageorge, Maria Nikoletos, Athena Margaritis, Vasiliki Adamopoulos, Panagiota Bikas and Sotiria Simonetatou, all of Greece.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Constantine Alexiou, Thanasi Alexiou and Elias Alexiou, all of Greece.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Greenville, conducted by Father Tom Pistolis. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, 3205 N. S.C. 81, Anderson, with a Trisagion service at 7 PM. The family is at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Penelope Bikas to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral Building Fund, 15 DeCamp Street, Greenville, S. C. 29601.

Sullivan-King Mortuary of Anderson, is in charge of arrangements.

Estrich, Willie

Willie James "Estreet" Estrich, 31, of 336 Echo Circle Lot-B, Anderson, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
A native of Anderson County, he attended Hanna High School, Anderson, and was a former construction worker.

Surviving are daughter, Jameisha Estrich of Honea Path; son, Jammie Estrich Jr. of Honea Path; stepdaughter, Keisha Richardson of Honea Path; parents, Willie Lee Estrich and Annie Estrich, both of Anderson; sisters, Seretha Curry, Carolyn Estrich and Shelby Estrich, all of Anderson; brothers, Pearce Campbell Jr., Johnny Campbell and Jermaine Estrich, all of Anderson; and a grandmother, Hattie Sullivan of Anderson.

He was the son of Willie Lee Estrich and Annie Campbell Sullivan Estrich.

Services are at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Holloway's Funeral Home chapel, Belton, by the Rev. William Cowan; burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Belton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of a brother, Pearce Campbell Jr., 808 Glenwood Ave., Anderson, S.C.

Estrich, O.C.

O.C. Estrich, 68, of 1304 Mountain View Road, Anderson, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Johnson Funeral Home, Anderson.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Zelma Thompson, 113 Cleveland Road, Anderson.

Early, Clift

Mount PLEASANT - Clift Jones Early, 65, of Mount Pleasant, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at her residence.
Born in Newnan, Ga., she was a graduate of the University of Georgia, a member of the Chi Omega Social Sorority and the Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society, and also a member of the Atlanta Catillion.

Surviving are son, Gary J. Early Jr. of Mount Pleasant.

She was the daughter of Phillips and Mary Hughes Jones.

A graveside service conducted by McAlister-Smith Funeral Home will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in South Carolina.

Byrum, Elease

HARTWELL, Ga. - Elease Stone Byrum, 82, of 272 N. Carolina St., widow of Otis W. Byrum, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Hart County Hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of a son, Douglas Byrum, 14 Forest Creek Circle, Hartwell.

Williams, Jacob 'J.C.'

Jacob "J.C." Williams, 86, of 516 Cathcart St., Anderson, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Jonson Funeral Home.

The family is at the home.

Whitfield, Rudolph

HARTWELL, Ga. - Rudolph Whitfield, 63, of 885 E. Johnson St. died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Hart County Hospital.
Born in Hart County, he was retired from the Hart-Franklin Training Center as an instructor and was a self-employed paint contractor. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy and the National Guard.

Surviving are widow, Carol Thomason Whitfield of the home; sons, Robert "Bob" Whitfield of Westminster, S.C., and Chris Whitfield of Hartwell; daughters, Tammy W. Ross, June W. Ankerich and Tina W. Blackmon, all of Hartwell; brother, Carey Whitfield of Hartwell; and one granddaughter reared in the home; and 17 grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Thomas Carlton Whitfield and Lillie Mae Eaves Whitfield. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald "Pete" Whitfield and Thomas Harold Whitfield; and two sisters, Robbie W. Foster and Josephine W. Bannister.

Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Strickland Funeral Home by the Revs. Terry Meeks and Jay Ragsdale; burial will be in Sardis Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.

Flowers are optional. The family suggests memorials be made to the Vista Care Hospice, 1640 Prince Ave., Athens, Ga. 30606.
