Mary E. Evans, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, died on the evening of Friday, November 16, 2001, in a Charleston hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 o'clock, Monday, in the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. She took Jesus as her savior while a teenager at First Baptist Church of South Berwick. An alum of the Berwick Academy, Class of '37, she attended Nasson College in Maine and was later graduated from the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She was a retired intensive care nurse at Medical University of South Carolina. She is the widow of CWO William A. Evans, USN who preceded her in death in 1975.A 40 year member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, she was also Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, a member of the East Cooper Republican Women's Club, the Sunshine Club, and was a volunteer at the East Cooper Regional Medical Center.Waiting to join her in glory, she leaves her sons and daughters-in-law, William A. (Diane) Evans of South Berwick, Maine, Ross K. (Bonnie) Evans of Rockwall, Texas; her daughters and sons-in-law, Corinne E. (Frank) Wise of Bastrop, Texas, and Maryanne E. (James A.) Potter of Mt. Pleasant. Ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her cousins, Alberta Johnson and Pamela Ferriera, of Jacksonville, her brother and sister-in-law, Richard A. (Thelma) Evans of Rhode Island and many nieces and nephews. Numerous brothers and sisters in Christ also survive.The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Medical University of South Carolina for all of their wonderful loving care during her brief illness. Mr. Gatch was born in Gloverville, South Carolina, August 26, 1912, the son of Allen Joseph Gatch and Annie Lee Hill Gatch. He was an electrical engineer for the United Piece Dye Works until his retirement. He was a member of the Citadel Square Baptist Church and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, Chicora Lodge 366. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #776 for over 60 years.
Surviving are his wife of North Charleston, SC; two sons: James Bailey Gatch of Charleston, SC; Perry Jonathan Gatch, Jr. of North Huntington, Pa. One daughter: Cheryl Gatch McLaurin of Charleston, SC; two sistes: Ethel Addison of New York, NY and Ann Dowdy of North Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

KINGSTREE - Ola Lee Moore Warr, 77, died Saturday in a Kingstree hospital.
Mrs. Warr was born on January 18, 1924 in Turbeville, a daughter of the late James B. Moore and Frances Gibbons Moore Ard. She was a member of Kingstree Church of God. Mrs. Warr was the widow of Archie Warr of the Warsaw community of Williamsburg County.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte W. McCutcheon of Scranton; three half-brothers, Vernon Ard and Zingle Ard, Jr. both of Rock Hill and James D. Ard of Lancaster; two half-sisters, Carrie A. Auten and Vera A. Culp both of Rock Hill; one step-brother, Luther Ard of Dinbua, Ca.; one step-sister, Laura A. Westmorland of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren, Tiffany, Courtney, and Timothy McCutcheon all of Scranton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 20, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingstree Church of God, with burial to follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Greeleyville. The family will receive visitors from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday at WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME in Kingstree.
